Go Red with Max Factor & Enter to Win a Day of Pampering!
Accoriding to a Max Factor press relaese that was sent to Talking Makeup, red rules! We’ve seen bold, red lips on runway models all over the world this season. While some might say it’s a tribute to Valentino’s signature red-lip look and his 45 years of style celebration in Rome, we think it’s because it keeps the guys guessing what we’re up to.
MAX Factor celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath says that putting away the pensive pinks in favor of confident crimsons “makes you look so sexy and dangerous at the same time” (Cosmopolitan, September, 2007). To get your sexy/dangerous red vibe on, start with a visit to MAX Factor Lip Service at the link below and power up your pout with a sexy shade of scarlet. Then gloss it to the MAX. Fierce!

Peter Som’s P.S. Kiss for Lancome
Peter Som’s P.S. kiss for Lancome will be sold exclusively at Nordstrom’s on October 1st. This is Lancome’s third Pout-A-Porter Lipstick. Peter Som’s P.S. Kiss for Lancome is a beautiful burgundy shade of lipstick created by Lancome artist director Gucci Westman and celebrated designer Peter Som for his Fall 2007 Fashion Show. Nordstrom National Beauty Director Debbi Hartley Triesch can not wait to showcase the shade saying: “Straight of the runway and right into Nordstrom-we are so excited to be launching the Pout-A-Porter lipstick this season with Lancome and Peter Som. P.S. Kiss is the perfect combination of a bright red and a dark burgundy lipstick, making it a very wearable shade for all skin tones and perfect for this season. It is the essential must-have and a great compliment to all the rich, luxurious fall fashions.”
Peter Som’s P.S. Kiss for Lancome is a limited edition and based on the success of the first two Pout-A-Porter collaborations with Behnaz Sarafpour and Proenza Schouler, it is projected to sell out fast so don’t miss the chance to be the proud owner of this fabulous lipstick before it is long gone. It will retail at $24 (or, up on ebay for 5 times the price).
About P.S Kiss: The collaboration began a month before New York Fashion Week in January, at Peter’s design studio. Gucci and Peter poured over his inspiration board, as Gucci began mixing pigments together on the spot . According to Peter Som: “My fall collection was all about rich textures and deep saturated colors-P.S. is the perfect bold stroke to go with the clothes, but it is still elegant and easy.” On the day of the show, Gucci and her team painted P.S. Kiss onto the lips of Coco Rocha, Chanel Iman, Jessica Stam and the other top models walking in Peter’s show. “I think the colors we came up with is reflective of his clothes-modern and sophisticated, and very pretty.” Says Gucci.
Just in case you wonder what Pout-A-Porter means: Pout-a-Porter is celebration of Lancome’s ongoing support of emerging designers, The first Pout-a-Porter lipstick was Behnaz (which was created for Bhenaz Sarafpour’s Fall 2005 show), which sold out before stock hit the stores. The second, Proenza Pink, for Proenza Schouler in Spring 2007, also sold out and was declared collector’s item by The New York Times. Via an official press release.

Questions and Answers with Christina Smith for MAC Lashes
Here is a partial questions and answers with Christina Smith who designed MAC Lashes for MAC Cosmetics:
Why do you think lashes are an important part of a women’s regime?
Lashes create fullness, evoke sexiness, an can be used in many capacities. They open the eyes, and frame the eyes, they can create an emotion or a mood depending on the style worn and most importantly they can positively effect someone’s confidence.
Why did you collaborate with MAC to develop a new Lash Collection?
First and foremost, lashes are fabulous! Everyone should have access to buy, wear and enjoy lashes. You can change the entire look of someone by simply adding a great pair of lashes. Part of the success of my business is largely due to the fact I make the only handmade, made-to-order lashes in the industry, which explains why a large portion of my clients are celebrities. As you can imagine making custom lashes takes time and energy, which results in them being a little pricey. It was important for me to work with a cosmetics brand that cares about their professional clientele as well as their customers, and by working with MAC, we were able to take all the design elements that I use in the creation of my custom lashes, and make the entire collection that is affordable, unique and wearable for everyone.
Please walk us through the steps of applying false lashes?
Step one: hold a mirror below your chin, look down into the mirror, so that your eyelids are fully extended.
Step two: apply a thin amount of Eyelash Adhesive evenly to the lash band.
Step three: let the adhesive dry for about 30 seconds, until it becomes sticky, and not wet.
Step four: affix lashes on top of your own lash line. Let dry for a few seconds.
Note: I recommend curling and applying mascara to your own lashes before applying the false lashes.
