BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“The Teen Choice awards are all about being young and having fun. And that’s exactly what we did with Nina Dobra’s look. The hair was pulled back into a very fun and playful ponytail and we wanted the make up to mimic that fresh youthful playfulness. “

FACE

“I started off by prepping her skin with Le Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream and a thin wash of Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. To even out the skin and give it a glowing texture, I used Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in SX11. For the cheeks I added some extra glow using Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion to highlight and Kevyn Aucoin Cream Blush in Tansoleil. To set the makeup I dusted a bit of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Powder in Warm Beige.

EYES

“On the eyes I started off by prepping them with Nars Eyeshadow Primer, which is amazing for red carpets since it keeps the shadow from budging. Next I used Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Portobello for a soft natural brown look. Nina and I really wanted to play up the eyes using some fun lashes and have them be a focal point of the look. I used Velour Mink Lashes in R Those Real to create that effect. Stila Kajal Eyeliner in Topaz on the water line finished off the look and really made her eyes pop.

LIPS

“On Nina’s lips I used a fantastic nude long lasting lip stain, Laura Mercier Lips Stain in Shy Pink.”

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“We wanted something simple and effortless since her outfit had a busy pattern.”

“The secret to an awesome ponytail like this, is not washing your hair for a few days! Blow out your bangs off to the side then load up your hair with tons of texture spray and scrunch it in. My favorite is Unite Beach Day Texturizing Spray. Then tie up your hair in a pony. Curl random pieces (not all of your hair) with a 1″ inch iron vertically throughout the pony. Then spray Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray all over for more texture. Lastly shake a little Unite Expanda Dust at the base if the pony to get that extra lift and bounce! And don’t forget, the dirtier the hair the better!”
