Valery Joseph Salons

I’m excited to share with you hair care tips from Stylists at Valery Joseph Salons. Valery’s first salon opened in July 2002 at Madison Ave and 79th Street. Since then he has opened two more Upper East Side locations as well as a seasonal salon in Bridgehampton. The superior and unique amenities that Valery Joseph Salons offer include: hair cuts, color and styling, keratin and relaxing treatments, extensions, bridal services, an extensive manicure & pedicure menu, full waxing services, makeup application, facials, eyebrow grooming and more. Valery’s team also gladly makes house calls when clients can’t make it to the salon.

1. For more body, use a ceramic metal round brush – when the metal heats up it will act as a hot roller. It also creates extra shine.

2. Make your own at home keratin treatment! Mix 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 whole avocado, 1 tbsp coconut oil and 1 tbsp olive oil and leave on for 20 minutes. Silky smooth hair awaits!

3. Bangs are cheaper than Botox! If you have wrinkles and don’t want to invest in Botox, bangs could be the perfect solution to cover those forehead wrinkles. A haircut can act as a great face lift.

4. The trick to an at-home updo is dirty hair – hair is more moldable on the second day! At that point the hair is like clay and will mold into the shapes you create.

5. The hottest color treatment for spring is baliage – hand painted highlights that are sexy, subtle, and require little to no upkeep.

6. The right shaped eyebrow arch will completely change the look of your face. Great brows make the eyes seem larger, provide framework for the face and give you an all-over lift.

7. People with fuller features should have fuller eyebrows. Always try to keep the brows as thick as possible but still maintain shape and definition.
