MAC Trend F/W ‘09 is available from September 17, 2009 and October 2009. As designers deepen their fascination with all things architectural, from Raf Simon’s structural dresses for Jil Sander to the futuristic, constructed ‘pod’ shoes that we saw at Balenciaga, so too goes the modern face.

The shapes and steely colours in this collection are an expression of the trend, an ode to the Strength of a Woman, rendered with true architectural precision. New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Makeup Trend Report.

Lead Makeup Artist: Daniel Martin for Lancôme
The Trend: Coral-colored pout.

The Look: Refined 60’s party girl. Healthy skin and stand-out lips: Chris’ spring collection is full of whimsical fabrics, colorful ornamentation and texture pieces.  For the makeup Chris asked Daniel to create a sun-kissed fresh look. He wanted healthy skin and prominent lip.

Daniel gave the models a natural glow by applying GÉNIFIQUE Youth Activating Concentrate to clean skin followed by GÉNIFIQUE Eye (Available 10/15/09) to brighten and open up the eye area. The complexion was perfectly even and polished. Shu Uemura Nobara Foundation was applied to even out the skin tone and Lancôme AGELESS MINÉRALE WITH WHITE SAPPHIRE COMPLEX (A perfecting and setting mineral powder) was dusted over the entire face. POP ‘N CHEEKS in Coral Flirt (Available Spring 2010) was used as a highlighter and lightly applied to the cheekbones near the temple for just a hint of color.

To define the eyes, Daniel smudged LE CRAYON KHÔL in Black Coffee on the upper and lower lash lash lines. Several coats of HYPNÔSE Mascara in Black were applied for thick, black lashes.

Lips were bright and creamy. Daniel used  L’ABSOLU ROUGE in Chris & Tell (Available Spring 2010 at Saks Fifth Avenue) for a vivid, coral-colored pout. Chris & Tell is the fifth lipstick in the POUT-A-PORTER designer lipstick series. Ginnifer Goodwin, star in the HBO series “Big Love” has made her mark in Hollywood on the red carpet at last nights 2009 Emmy Awards! mark celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh explains how she created Ginnifer’s gorgeous red carpet look.

How to Get Ginnifer’s Red Carpet look:

Face: “Ginnifer wore a beautiful, Fuschia strapless dress, so we wanted to keep her look more neutral, but focused on her eyes. To get her look, I started by applying mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Buff with a foundation brush. I then applied mark Get Bright Hook Up Highlighter in Light above her cheekbones and mark Good Riddance Hook Up Highlighter in Fair/Light under her eyes. Once the foundation and creams were applied, I set everything by dusting mark Matte-Nificent in Buff/Natural with a powder brush. And finally, to give her a warm glow, I swept mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Hush Baby on her cheeks using the blush/bronzer brush.”

Doll Play: Big lashes are the look for Spring. Tina used Nyx Professional Makeup’s Doll Eye Mascara in Volume to create, big open eyes. For extra definition, the model’s eyes were lined with Nyx Professional Makeup’s Felt Tip Eyeliner in Black, with a sexy cat-eye swoop.
