Why have you decided on a career in acting?
Early on in my life I was a model and traveled quite a bit. I was discovered as a model in a local shopping mall in Vancouver, Canada. My parents then got a transfer to Texas. I was living in Germany at the time planning to stay in Europe as a ‘Bohemian Model Chick’. My parents convinced me to leave Europe for Texas. I was under 21at the time and I had the perfect opportunity to receive a Green Card, or a permanent residency in the US. In Texas I discovered a good modeling market while I was putting myself through college. Then a call came in for a movie. I went on an audition and got the role. I then got involved in local film festivals in Texas. Clearly acting was something I enjoyed a lot which at the end triggered me to move to Los Angeles.

How do you like living in LA?
I feel more at home in LA. I used to live in Tokyo and in Germany and it was much bigger shock coming to Texas than any of these International cities. Although at the end I enjoyed living in Texas, I still consider LA as my home. I have 2 kids who were both born in LA. Most of my friends are stay home moms, which allows me to have a life outside the acting world.

And, you don’t want to miss Pierce Mattie’ s ultimate dinner party because it includes an intriguing mix of personalities, such as: Warren Buffet, Liz Smith, and Hillary Clinton.

How did you end up in the world of Public Relations?
I moved to Manhattan in 1998 to work as a cosmetics manager at Bergdorf Goodman and was doing facials and offering styling tips for beauty and fashion editors. Amy Bratt was working at Mirabella Magazine and ran a feature on me offering tips on doing at-home-peels and wrinkle busting tactics. That was the day my life went into the spotlight you could say. I then moved onto working for a wholesale manufacture of lifestyle products for resorts and hotels and climbed my way to the role of Global Public Relations Director and ran the PR for over a dozen countries. I then took a break in my career to write a beauty text book and it was during that sabbatical that Pierce Mattie the PR firm was conceived.

When did your interest in hair design begin?
My interest in hair design stems from an appreciation for beauty that I’ve had all my life. I started my career in photography because initially I wanted to capture that - but eventually I realized I wanted to be more involved in creating beauty and not just reflecting it on an image. I wanted to shape a look in its different aspects and in the process realized how hair is so fundamental to that.

I recently had an amazing opportunity to interview the founders of Revolution Organics Melissa Shabinsky & Alexandra Zanella for Beauty Interviews!

The brand had to reflect the changes we were making in our personal lives - living more clean and green. When we realized that beautifully packaged, luxuriously formulated, multi-tasking, healthy, fresh smelling beauty products were not available…we set out to create our own.
How to Get Eva La Rue’s Long & Sexy Eye Lashes with RevitaLash Eyelash Conditioner
In my interview with CSI Miami actress, Eva La Rue, she revealed to me the secret to her sexy long eye lashes.

Here it is:
I get my eyelashes looking long, full, and sexy using… “RevitaLash. It’s pricey, $140, but it really works. It gives you spider leg long lashes. I was skeptical first. But for some reason, I put on false eye lashes, I pulled them and it pulled a whole chunk of my lashes, so I was desperate. You have to give it 3 weeks to work, and then you notice you have Daddy Long Leg size eye lashes”.-Eva La Rue.

The RevitaLash Story:
It all began because a husband wanted to give his wife a very special gift…
