STEPS

1. Prepare hair with Straight Shampoo and Conditioner
2. Towel dry
3. Add Straight Style or heat protection oil mid lengths to ends
4. Use a blow dryer that has air force but is not burning hot like Tempo
5. Take your round brush and pull away slowly turning brush under as you reach the hair ends, the smaller the diameter of brush will determine how much the ends will curl under
6. Use section clips starting in one inch sections at the nape moving to the crown of the head. The more frizz the hair has the wetter the hair should be when drying frizzy hair that has been left too long after the shampoo will be impossible to pull straight
7. Once the hair is dry it is time to iron the GHD heats up almost instantly, again starting at the nape spray on Straight Finish by Paul Labrecque and place the iron near the root and pull straight out slowly in one fluid motion, if you desire a bend on the ends turn the iron under as you reach hair ends
8. Do this for every section until all hair has been pressed.

Inspiration: The look mirrors the Charlotte Ronson collection, which is inspired by a remake of 80’s style. The hair was created to evoke a fresh, young wispy look and a “just walked out of dance class at Julliard” look to play off her fabrics and bold designs.

How to get the hairdo:

Step 1: Prep the hair from root to tip with Advance Techniques Salon Volume Finishing Spray to enhance natural shine and create volume.

Step 2: Using the Advance Techniques Paddle Brush and hair dryer, distribute the Advance Techniques Salon Volume Finishing Spray by sectioning off the hair and blow-drying to ensure that there is a natural, soft texture.

Step 3: Next, gather the hair tight to form a ponytail at the back crown of the head and secure with a ponytail holder keeping all sides flat.

Step 4: Holding hair at the base of the ponytail, twist the hair firmly in one direction to form a kink in to a spiral. Secure with bobby pins.

Step 5: On the sides, using the little hairs “muse” the wispy hairs to play up the natural texture.

I crossed Central Park in a cab all the way to the East Side and arrived at the Frédéric Fekkai at The Mark Hotel. The building was so pretty and newly renovated which is kind of rare for NYC, everything is normally so ancient. My service was impeccable, and the best part was that I got to do my nails and my hair at the same time. I felt like I can totally can get used this life. Wouldn’t you?:)

How to create Molly Sims hairdo:

First, Angee sprayed Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel to the wet hair to add body and fullness. She then blow-dried the hair with a diffuser to add volume. Next, she curled the hair with a 1 ½ iron and placed the curls in pins. After ten minutes she took down the pins. Then, Angee tossed the hair with her finger tips. Achieve Mila’s simple sexy pony with just a few steps:
1. Apply TRESemmé Anti-Frizz Secret Smoothing Crème to damp hair, part to one side, and blow dry with a medium-sized round brush

2. Curl hair with a 1 1/4 inch barrel curling iron, and spray entire head with TRESemmé Frizz Shield hairspray

The John Patrick Organic show took place this morning at Keen’s Steakhouse in New York City.

The hair look for John Patrick Organic is a modern, playful take on Bohemian-chic. Hair is smooth and shiny on top with soft, free-flowing curls below the cheekbone and volume at the front—pulled back into a barrette, adding a girly touch.

Get the Look Step-by-Step:

• Step 1: Prep hair with Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam to add body, volume, and shine.
• Step 2: Brush hair through and create a deep side part.
• Step 3: Divide hair into three sections: bottom, sides/top and middle, and secure in place with hair clips. Spray each section generously with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray for shine and hold.

• Step 4: Starting with the nape of the neck, curl small sections of hair using a 1 inch barrel curling iron. Once curled, roll each piece into a loop using your index finger, and hold in place with a single-pronged hair clip. Continue curling hair, working around the sides toward the top of the head, leaving a one inch piece of hair untouched. Spray each curl with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray for added hold.
• Step 5: Curl the one inch piece of hair forward and secure with a single-pronged hair clip to allow the hair to cool.
• Step 6: With the exception of the front curl, remove all hair clips and brush curls through to create soft, full waves.
• Step 7: Rub Aveda Light Elements Shaping Wax between palms and smooth over the top of hair to reduce flyaways and add shine. Hair is now smooth from crown to cheekbones becoming full, loose curls.
• Step 8: Remove clip from top curl and twist slightly to create volume and lift in front. Secure hair in place with two small hair pins, and then pull back with a larger barrette that matches hair color. Spray Aveda Air Control Hair Spray directly on the lifted section of hair to add volume and hold.
• Step 9: Finish the look with a final misting of Aveda Air Control Hair Spray.

Q: What was your inspiration for this look? How did you collaborate with the designer to create the look?
“I call this chic-bohemian look ‘the wave.’ Patrick was inspired by a photograph taken in the Krazy Kat Club in the 1920’s, where the girls embodied a “wholesome Bohemia” full of enthusiasm and creative spirit. We worked together to translate this inspiration into a look for the seductive, modern girl who attends private speakeasies. She is distinctive, intellectual, and very pretty—yet fun-loving and young.”

Q: How could a woman achieve this look on her own?
“This look is gorgeous and easy to recreate for day or evening. Prep hair with Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam and create a deep side part. Spray hair with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray and curl with a one-inch barrel curling iron. Brush through to create soft, full waves. Smooth the top of hair with Aveda Light Elements Shaping Wax to tame flyaways and achieve a smooth, modern finish. Q: What is the inspiration for your collection? What is the look you are capturing?
“This season, I wanted to dig deep below the surface of Bohemian style, and create a free-spirited look that’s chic, pretty, and fresh. I was inspired by a photograph taken at the Krazy Kat Club in the 1920’s and sought to create of a dressy, “wholesome Bohemia,” defined by artistic endeavor and intellectual pursuit. The collection is bright and optimistic—true Bohemians are enthusiasts. It features a mix-match of happy, classic Bohemia and chic, wear-anywhere utility pieces. The mix-and-match strategy is signature Organic, but shows my wholesome, Bohemian point-of-view. What’s Bohemia without self-expression?”

Q: You have made a real effort to “green” your show this season. How do you feel about this accomplishment?
“I’m thrilled to be ‘greening’ the backstage with Aveda. There’s nothing about going green that doesn’t feel good.”

Inspiration: Taking inspiration from strong influential women like Nancy Cunard, Josephine Baker and Schiaparelli, Michael Angel directed a Spring ’10 beauty look that’s meant to replace the depressing, dark days of yore with a revived, empowered and reenergized youthfulness. A fresh, healthy “just come back from holiday” look subtly complements the collection’s energy-packed, color-rich and cool designs that Michael is famous for.

The Hair Look: To keep this ponytail from looking cold and severe, Sebastian Professional lead stylist Thomas Dunkin kept the crown soft and clean, allowing some of the hair’s natural texture free reign for a played-in feeling.
