CHANEL Introduces Precision Cleansers and Toners
New: CHANEL Cleansers and Toners.
Pollution is a dirty fact of life. The dirt on your window-sill, the smog in the air and the hole in the ozone layer are daily reminders of the unfortunate effects of pollution. It wreaks havoc on the eco-system and even our skin. If pollution has the power to damage the ozone layer over 6 miles above the earth’s surface, one can only wonder how it affects your skin.
The air in most cities is a cocktail of varying levels of polluting gases, liquids and solids, all of which our faces are exposed to daily. The first step, educate yourself on what you can do to minimize your contribution to the pollution problem. The second step, treat yourself to the new CHANEL Précision Cleansers & Toners specifically developed to counteract the adverse effects of these damaging pollutants.
At the heart of this high-performance collection developed by CHANEL Research is the Tulip Tree, which has been planted in cities worldwide to help de-pollute the air. Its shiny green leaves are covered by a protective wax that traps pollutants. As the toxic particles accumulate, the wax barrier prevents the pollutants from penetrating the surface, allowing them to be naturally eliminated when it rains.

The use of plants to de-pollute the environment, a process called phytoremediation, utilizes plants to naturally absorb the environmental contaminants. However, CHANEL is the first to integrate this natural technique into a tailor-made product line which addresses the onslaught of environmental pollution head-on.
Combining the natural strength of the Tulip Tree Extract & Concentrate, with a bio-technological ingredient, Bioglucane, for greater efficacy, CHANEL Précision Cleansers & Toners are able to perform three exclusive actions:
1. Trap pollutants to prevent skin damage from daily exposure to harmful environmental elements.
2. Remove up to100% of impurities caused by harmful indoor and outdoor pollution.
3. Protect the integrity of skin’s natural defense barriers, while respecting skin’s delicate balance.
CHANEL Précision Cleansers & Toners come in 3 different formulas: Comfort, Balance, and Purity.

Chanel Beaute at the 2008 Academy Awards
Chanel Beaute was behind the glamorous red carpet makeup looks of Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Garner, Katerine Heigl and Marion Cotillard at the 2008 Academy Awards. Makeup Artist Angela Levin did the makeup for actress Nicole Kidman. Beauty Inspiration-”My inspiration was Nicole! She already had an amazing, natural radiance, which made her an easy canvas to work with.”
Beauty tip-The focus of Nicole’s sultry look was her eyes. Angela used deep, rich shades to give Nicole a dramatic, smoky eye. To achieve this look she brushed Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Silvery and Ebony on the lids. she then lined the eyes with Intense eye Pencil in Graphite and Noir to make them stand out. As always, Angela used her favorite Chanel product, Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black. She finished the look with a pale, natural pink lip Rouge allure in Darling.
Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin did the makeup for actress Penelope Cruz. Beauty inspiration-”I was inspired by her gorgeous dress, which had a historical feel to it. I wanted to add a dramatic flair to her look with her makeup, which I did with a navy cat eye.”

Beauty Tip-Rachel gave Penelope a stunning, dramatic look on the red carpet. she created a navy cat eye by lining the eyes with Precision Eye Definer in Blue Jean, then smudged the navy shadow from Quadra Eyeshadow in Bleu Celeste on top of the liner, giving her a deep blue almond shaped eye. She used Teint Innocence foundation in Soft Honey on her skin, and gave her complexion a matte, velvet finish with Poudre Cristalline Ultra-Fine Translucent Powder. Rachel applied a new Rouge Allure shade, Naive, to Penelope’s lips for a pinkish nude lip.
Makeup artist Paul Starr did the makeup for Jennifer Garner. Beauty inspiration-”My inspiration tonight was the glamour old Hollywood; evoking the beauty of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. This was the first time Jennifer was wearing a black dress on the red carpet, so I wanted to give her a strong look.”

Beauty tip-Jennifer looked classically beautiful and glamorous on the red carpet. Paul started by creating a strong, sculpted eye. He achieved this look by lining the upper and lower lash lines with Intense Eye Pencil in Noir, and then perfecting the line with Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir. Paul shaped the lids with a shimmery taupe shadow from Quadra Eye Shadow in Dunes, and applied Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black to the lashes. He used Teint Innocence, a sheer foundation, to give Jennifer’s skin a fresh, flawless radiance. Finally, Paul completed the look with Rouge Allure in Tender, and elegant beige-pink.
Makeup artist Monika Blunder did the makeup for actress Katherine Heigl. Beauty inspiration-”My inspiration was ‘roman retro’ with minimalist glamour. The makeup had a warm glow and sun-kissed look. She looked like she just got back from vacation in St. Tropez!”

Beauty tip-Katherine was gorgeous and luminous on the red carpet. Monika gave her a bold, bright, poppy hued mouth with Aqualumiere Gloss in Party Red, a new gloss formula from Chanel launching in May, flown in from Paris for the Oscar red carpet. She applied Sheer Brilliance in Sunkissed to give Katherine’s complexion a subtle, bronze glow. On her cheeks, Monika used Powder Blush in Horizon, a warm coral shade. She created a defined eye with Intense Eye Pencil in Ambre, and applied beige and brown shadows from Quadra Eye Shadow in Dunes to the lids. Finally, Monika added a touch of glamour to the eyes with Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black.
Makeup artist Angela Levin did the makeup for french actress Marion Cotillard. Beauty inspiration-”My inspiration was Marion’s pearly white dress with hints of gold and silver. The intricate petal-like design reminded me of a flower. And of course, I was inspired by La Vie en Rose!”

Beauty tip-to give Mario a refined, ethereal look, Angela used the copper and pink-gold shadows from the Multi-Use Makeup Palette in Lumiere Naturelle on her lids. She applied Sheer Brilliance in Sunkissed to Marion’s skin, giving her complexion a sheer sun-kissed glow. On her cheeks, Angela brushed on Powder Blush in Narcisse, a pale delicate pink.
