Ann Taylor and CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund’s 2010 Design Looks

January 31, 2011 New York, NY- Ann Taylor announces an online charity auction of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund’s 2010 Design Challenge looks. Money raised will go to the CFDA /Vogue Fashion Fund. Ann Taylor is collaborating with eBay for the charity auction, which launches January 31 and will run through February 10, 2011.

Created by the 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists, the auction items are one-of-a-kind designs created specifically for the design challenge sponsored by Ann Taylor. The 2010 finalists are widely recognized as up and coming leaders in the fashion world: Joseph Altuzarra, Billy Reid, Christian Cota, Eddie Borgo, Gregory Parkinson, Moss Lipow, Pamela Love, Paul Marrow and Oliver Helden of Loden Dager, Prabal Gurung, and Robert Geller. As part of the auction packages, winners will receive the full one-of-a-kind collectible design, an autographed sketch of the design, and a letter of authenticity from the CFDA.

Lisa Axelson, Ann Taylor’s Head of Design, asked the ten finalists to “design a look for the modern professional woman.” Many of the designs took inspiration from Ann Taylor’s heritage and consist of unique interpretations of Ann Taylor’s iconic trench coat, shirt dress, leopard prints and accessories.

“Our view of the Ann Taylor modern working woman was someone who wants to believe in her clothes. We wanted these pieces to be her favorites in the closet that she could take anywhere, gets tons of wear, and have integrity in their make,” said Billy Reid, winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund sponsorship for 2010.

“We love supporting young talent. It’s so important to see new, chic ideas in American fashion that are relevant to the way women dress today. All money raised by the online auction will go to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund for more of these initiatives,” says Axelson.
