<p>NEW YORK, April 6, 2011 – The Estée Lauder brand announced a new collaboration with Aerin Lauder and AERIN LLC, her new luxury lifestyle brand, the formation of which was announced earlier that day.</p>

<p>Under the arrangement, Ms. Lauder will continue to be actively involved in the Estée Lauder brand, serving as creative consultant and becoming its Style and Image Director. She will also continue as the brand’s global ambassador and spokesperson, a position she has held successfully for many years. Ms. Lauder will also remain a member of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. Board of Directors, which she joined in 2004.</p>
<p><span id="more-40329"></span>The Estée Lauder brand will be the exclusive beauty partner to AERIN LLC in launching a beauty line under the AERIN name to be sold at select Estée Lauder counters. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. AERIN LLC is a stand-alone company wholly owned by Aerin Lauder.</p>
<p>Ms. Lauder said, “I’m thrilled to continue playing an active role in the iconic Estée Lauder brand, including serving as global brand ambassador and spokesperson. At the same time, I look forward to pursuing my vision to create the AERIN brand. As I launch this new business, I am excited to have the extraordinary team at Estée Lauder as my partner in creating a beauty collection that will reflect my new brand’s style and spirit. I look forward to our future together.”</p>

<p>About Aerin Lauder: Prior to today’s announcement, Ms. Lauder was Senior Vice President, Creative Director for the Estée Lauder brand from July 2004, having served since 2001 as its Vice President of Global Advertising. She previously spent four years as Executive Director, Creative Marketing, helping to define and enhance the Estée Lauder brand image. Prior to 1997, she was Director, Creative Product Development for the Estée Lauder brand. Ms. Lauder joined the Company in 1992 as a member of the Prescriptives marketing team. Ms. Lauder has served as a member of the Board of Directors of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. since 2004. She serves on the Education Committee for the Board of Trustees at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is a member of the International Committee of the Museum of Modern Art. <p>For decades, an unfinished formula for an extraordinary fragrance begun by <strong>Mrs. Estée Lauder</strong> remained locked in the archives at the famous fragrance house, International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF). Estée conceived <strong>Formula #546AQ</strong>, as it was known, as a new way to convey sparkling freshness balanced with sophisticated elegance and a distinctive signature. However, it was left unfinished in her lifetime and was gradually forgotten for many years.</p>
<p>Often inspired by her grandmother’s work, <strong>Aerin Lauder</strong>, Estée Lauder Senior Vice President and Creative Director, was looking back through the archives and rediscovered this lost fragrance. She fell in love with its unexpectedly lively, modern spirit and decided to complete the fragrance, using today’s advanced technology and the finest natural ingredients direct from France.</p>
<p><span id="more-3586"></span>Working with the same passion and clarity of vision as her grandmother, Aerin experimented note by note, accord by accord, with several Jasmine essences and an exclusive White Moss accord developed for her alone. The result, after over a year and a half of work, was a complex, elegant chic fragrance that layers textures for a tone on tone effect.</p>
<p>Combining luminous freshness and youthfulness balanced by a sense of luxurious elegance, Private Collection Jasmine White Moss is a tribute to past and present and a first in the history of fragrance and for Estée Lauder.</p>
<p><strong>THE FRAGRANCE</strong>: The shared creation of Aerin and Estée, Private Collection Jasmine White Moss is a passionate yet elegant blend of modern and classic ingredients. An intensely lush green floral chypre fragrance, Private Collection Jasmine White Moss is comprised of an opulent white bouquet surrounded by delicate moss, rich woods and 15 100 percent pure natural fragrance Absolutes, many of them provided by IFF’s raw material company, Laboratoires Monique Remy (LMR), located in the south of France.</p>
<p>The fresh sparkling top notes include Mandarin, and Absolutes of Black Currant Bud (crisp and fruity, a new quality captured for the very first time with a new extraction technique), Galbanum and Bergamot.</p>
<p>The elegantly complex middle notes include Jasmine Sambac Absolute selected by Aerin and subtly blended with the Ylang Ylang and Jasmin India Absolutes Estée herself had chosen, plus Violet, Orange Flower Absolute and Orris.</p>

<p>Private Collection Jasmine White Moss is the third fragrance introduced by Aerin, joining <strong>Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia</strong> and <strong>Private Collection Amber Ylang Ylang</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>THE ADVERTISING</strong>: The advertising for the fragrance was photographed by <strong>Craig McDean</strong> and features Aerin smiling and looking relaxed and elegant in <strong>a vintage white jersey Halston dress</strong> with a beautiful white flower in her hair. The advertising concept was created by Aerin in collaboration with <strong>Doug Lloyd of Lloyd and Co.</strong></p>
<p><strong>THE PACKAGING</strong>: The packaging for Private Collection Jasmine White Moss, also a collaboration between Aerin and Doug Lloyd, was inspired by Estée’s private world.</p>
<p>“Estée always incorporated elements of blue and white into her surroundings – her rooms, her bathrooms, her dining rooms, everywhere,” said Aerin Lauder. “This third fragrance is a tribute to her love of blue and white.”</p>
<p>Reflecting Estée’s aesthetic and Aerin’s interpretation of it, the Private Collection Jasmine White Moss parfum cap is embellished with natural semi-precious gems including White Jade, dark and light Lapis, Sodalite, Black Agate, Mother of Pearl and Blue Lace Agate stones. The stones selected for each cap are different, making each piece unique.</p>
<p>The eau de parfum cap is also a tribute to Estée, with a golden basket weave design that was a favorite and used often in her packaging designs.</p>
<p>The fragrance’s elegant outer carton provides a nod to Estée with its signature deep blue interior that suggests pure luxury.</p>
<p><strong>THE COLLECTION</strong>: Private Collection Jasmine White Moss will be available at www.esteelauder.com and specialty doors Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman beginning July 2009.</p>

When combined with juicy Apple Blossom, Waterfruits and Clear Aldehydes, a sparkling crisp wetness and a dreamy bright floralcy greet you in the top notes of the fragrance. Next comes a perfect floral fusion that lingers with the pure innocence of Jasmine, Camellia Flower and a perfect accent of Honeysuckle. A blushing bouquet of Sweet Pea, Cherry Blossom, and Pink Peony follows closely behind, evoking the tender serenity of the ocean at daybreak.<br />

<p><strong>The Fragrance<br />
</strong>This radiant fragrance was masterfully created using two of the rarest, most expensive ingredients in the perfumer&#8217;s palette. Built around the precious Ylang flower and iconic Amber, the fragrance is at once warm, inviting and radiant. The fragrance weaves through a journey of rich olfactive sensations, unfolding from light to deep, capturing the magical spirit of these prized notes.</p>
<p>At first breath, Private Collection Amber Ylang Ylang tantalizes with sparkle and allure. Evoking instant joy, Italian Bergamot provides its fresh, citrusy scent for brightness. Geranium Oil continues to uplift, with its green and rosy effects, while Ylang Absolute, the most intense and sensual grade of Ylang essence, offers the diffusive power of its captivatingly elegant and spicy floral note.</p>
<p>At the heart of the fragrance is a mosaic of voluptuous florals and spices that deliver intrigue and sophistication. The ultimate symbol of femininity &#8211; Bulgarian Rose Absolute is both luxurious and mysterious. The addition of Cinnamon SFE, for which premium Cinnamon Ceylon was extracted through SOFTACT® technology to obtain the most precise, natural rendition of the spice, imparts warm, soft sensuality. Finally, the rich, mysterious and spicy notes of precious Incense entice with the feeling of serenity and exotic indulgence.</p>

<p>Reflecting Aerin&#8217;s aesthetic, the Private Collection Amber Ylang Ylang parfum cap is embellished with semi-precious stones of tiger eye, smokey quartz and red agate. The beautiful parfum cap glows with fire-like brilliance and captures the mood and textures of an enjoyable evening at home. Coupled with the golden hue of the fragrance, which was inspired by the soft glow of burning candlelight, the beautiful package is transformed into a rich, glistening jewel.</p>
<p>The golden Private Collection Amber Ylang Ylang Eau de Parfum cap was inspired by an exquisite hammered gold necklace and matching bracelet that Aerin received as a gift from her grandmother Estēe.</p>
<p>The outer carton with its white backdrop and golden foil cover conveys the fragrance&#8217;s understated luxury aesthetic and mirrors the artful elegance first seen in Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.</p>
