BEAUTY INSPIRATION: ”Anne wore a beautiful Valentino dress last night. We decided to keep the hair and makeup simple but have somewhat of a ‘fairy-tale princess’ feeling with a modern twist. Fresh, dewy, natural gorgeous skin.”

How to get Anne Hathaway’s makeup:

“I prepped Anne’s skin with La Mer Moisturizing Cream, Clinique All About Eyes, and Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment . After prepping the skin, I mixed a tiny bit of MAC Stroke Cream with Cle de Peau Silky Cream Foundation in O10 to apply sparingly on face and neck. Then Cle de Peau Concealer in Ivory to cover under eyes, around the nose.

For the eyes, I applied MAC Pro Longwear Eyeshadow in Sweet Satisfaction all over the eyelids and corner of eyes, then MAC Pro Longwear Eyeshadow in Make Your Mark all around the lash lines, focusing on the upper lash lines. To finish the eyes, I applied two coats of Lancôme Definicils Mascara in Deep Brown.

For the cheeks, I applied Stila Convertible Color in Gladiola , then a tiny flush of Stila Custom Color Blush in Coral to set the cream blush. I also used Smashbox Artificial Light Powder in Frost on the apples of the cheek, cheekbones, forehead to make the skin even more luminous. The lip color is Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Red Red Red. Anne has full gorgeous lips so I applied it like a stain with my finger instead a lip brush, more intense in the center of the lip. The whole idea is to keep the lips still looking not heavy even though she is wearing red lipstick.

To finish the makeup, I powdered the t-zone with Shiseido Translucent Loose Powder. I had such a nice time doing Anne’s makeup. I think she looked absolutely radiant!”

The Hairstyle: Frederic Fekkai’s Adir Abergel Creates a Piecey Ponytail For Anne Hathaway’s Rio Premiere in Los Angeles. INSPIRATION: Fekkai’s Abergel created a modernized 1960’s hair style that was sexy and full of texture.

HOW TO GET THE LOOK: Abergel started by applying Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Volume Styling Whip throughout the hair. He roughly blow dried the hair with his hands to bring out the hairs natural texture. With a round brush, Abergel blow dried the rest of the hair straight, so that the hair was smooth and soft. He then curled the hair using a 1 ¼ inch curling iron and applied Fekkai Coiff Ocèanique Tousled Wave Spray, scrunching the hair with a diffuser to create the texture that would last through the night. Abergel then followed the line of the ear to the crown of the head to place the ponytail, leaving a few pieces fall in front. Adir Abergel interviews with Marta Walsh

NARS worked with Anne Hathaway’s makeup artist Molly Stern for the premiere of her film Rio in Los Angeles. Creating a look to coincide with her chic frames and purple “rock ‘n roll” dress, Molly played up her eyes and kept her lips nude with the help of new Summer 2011 products Bolero Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, and Mayflower Lipstick.

Anne Hathaway’s makeup. CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee worked with Anne Hathaway at the New York premiere of Love and Other Drugs on Tuesday, November 16th, 2010. Marta Walsh has the scoop on how to get Anne’s beautiful red carpet look.

“Annie wore a gorgeous winter white gown, featuring lace and feathers,and a big bow at the neck. When I saw the dress I knew that the make up needed to be beautiful but approachable.

I prepped the skin with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum, and used CHANEL Hydramax + Active Lip Care on her lips. Her complexion was smoothed with CHANEL Vitalumiere Fluid Makeup, the miracle foundation. Her skin is perfect, but this base makes the skin look milky and soft, has great staying power, and is never dry or flakey.

Next, I drew a very thin line next to her lash line, with a super fine black liquid brush liner by Shiseido, that I bought in Japan. Taking care not to wing out the eyes past the end of the natural lashes, I ended in sharp little upward points. To finish the lines, I added a little black matte shadow to the outer corners, to soften the line. I curled the lashes, and applied CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir to the bases of the lashes, adding clusters of feathery strip lashes which I customized for Annie’s shape.

On the lids I applied a mixture of silvery and pale gold creme shadow from the Nars Thebes palette, and then used CHANEL Éclat Lumière in Beige Rosé to lift the brow bone, the inner corners and the outer lower corners which sharpened the line. I groomed and perfected Annie’s eye brows with Anastasia Brow powder and setting gel. Annie’s Cheeks were Laura Mercier creme blush in Praline, a neutral peachy nude, which I love to use when I don’t want a specific shade.

Finally, on the lips we used CHANEL Ultra Wear Lip Colour in Cristal Rose (new for Spring, not available till January!) I love this colour as it is transparent enough to see your own lip colour behind it, but will not be moved! It also has a transparent gloss which you can use to add moisture throughout the evening.”

The hairdo & inspiration: Adir Abergel was inspired by the 70’s.

How to & products:

Adir started by applying the Fekkai Full Blown Volume Styling Whip on wet hair. Using a round brush, he dried the hair completely. With a 1 ¼ inch curling iron, Adir curled the hair into barrel curls and pinned the hair leaving it to cool. Once cooled, he took out the curls and brushed hair with a flat brush. Then, he set the hair with Fekkai Coiff Magnifique Ultra-Light Finishing Crème and secured with Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray.

“For the premiere of Love and Other Drugs in Los Angeles, Anne wore a creamy dress which was so amazing, it evoked images from Fellini Movies, so I decided on a modern day La Dolce Vita. I prepped her skin with CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate, then smoothed and evened the skin tone with CHANEL Vitalumiere Fluid Makeup so as to keep the skin approachable, but peachy.

I used CHANEL Éclat Lumière in Beige Rosé to brighten under the eyes, and the brow bone. Then, on the lid I carefully blended CHANEL Ombre D’eau Fluid Eyeshadow in Delta, taking care not to blend too far above the socket. Next, I used Laura Mercier Caviar liner to trace two perfect lines along the lash line, making them more definite towards the outer edges. I spent quite a bit of time working on Anne’s brows, gently filling and fixing with Anastasia Brow Gel.

On her cheeks and across the bridge of the nose I used Nars blush In Lovejoy. Anne’s lip colour was CHANEL Rouge Allure Laque in Santal which is a gorgeous shade between a peach and a salmon pink. It is purely a gloss with no shimmer. I love this colour! Lashes were curled and given a coat of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir, and then I applied a full set of strip lashes for a liddy effect.”
