Lancôme spokesmodel Elettra Wiedemann hosted a lovely night of beauty this past Friday, November 12th, 2010, at Christie’s in New York City.

Don’t Elettra Wiedemann and Arlenis Sosa look so gorgeous together? Doing good certainly does look good on these Lancôme spokesmodels.

One Frickin Day—as in, it only takes one day to make a difference in the lives of many—is the provocatively named charity. The party kicked off its latest initiative, an online auction called Model Behavior, which features an array of designer dresses and more donated by Elettra’s friends. Supermodel, Arlenis Sosa, 21, current face of Lancome made lots of heart’s happy Saturday as she volunteered alongside the New Yorkers For Children’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB) helping to run the face painting booth for children with severe disabilities at the 5th Annual New Alternatives for Children (NAC) Kids Olympics. Over 600 NAC children and family members participated in activities including relay races (with and without wheelchairs), rock-climbing, soccer and gymnastics at Chelsea Piers on Saturday, June 19th, 2010.

“I am so thrilled to have been part of such a great cause, said Arlenis.” “It brought joy to my heart to see the happiness this event brought to the children there.”

The activities planned enable NAC’s special children to overcome physical and mental obstacles, meet new challenges and build self-esteem; as well as experience team spirit and healthy competition, get lots of exercise, and, most importantly, have a memorable and fun day as parents and friends cheer them on. Most of NAC’s children are living in poverty; many have had more surgeries than birthdays; and too many have lived the first years of their life in sterile hospital wards, not out of medical necessity but because their families could not care for them at home.

New Yorkers For Children’s (NYFC) Youth Advisory Board is a group of high school and college students in foster care who serve as advocates for youth in foster care in New York City. The group meets for dinner at NYFC once a month to plan events and programs that positively impact younger children in foster care. The Youth Advisory Board also advises NYFC on the needs and desires of older youth in foster care and provides an opportunity for these youth to meet and socialize with one another.

New Yorkers For Children (NYFC) is the non-profit organization that partners with the Administration for Children’s Services to improve the lives of children in foster care in New York City. Since 1996, NYFC has made a difference in the lives of these youth through college scholarships, tutoring programs, job training, and networking opportunities. There are over 16,000 children in foster care in New York City, and NYFC is committed to providing them with the essential tools to become successful, self-sufficient adults.

Arlenis Sosa Latina magazine March 2010 Cover and Lancôme: The radiant Arlenis Sosa, one of Lancôme’s favorite spokesmodels, was feted by Lancôme and Latina magazine on Monday night, Feburary 22nd, 2010. The party celebrated Arlenis’s cover story in the March 2010 issue of Latina (image below).

The fun party, which was held at The Lancôme Boutique on NYC’s Upper West Side, attracted quite a crowd. Makeup artist Scott Barnes was there, as were pop star Kat DeLuna and MTV’s Julissa Bermudez—fellow Dominicanas there to cheer on Arlenis. (We were especially loving Kat’s dramatic black eyeliner and glossy lips, which was done by Scott himself.) The team behind the cover—photographer Marc Baptiste and makeup artist Rene Garnes—also dropped by. Arlenis was thrilled to see designer Luis Menieur there, too. After all, he did launch her modeling career after discovering her in Santo Domingo!

Congratulations to Lancôme’s spokesmodel Arlenis Sosa who was honored at The Latin Pride National Awards last Thursday night in Boston. These awards recognize the most successful representatives of the Latino community in sports, film, music, education—and of course, fashion.

The annual celebration takes place in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month to commemorate and celebrate the positive contributions of the Latino community to the American culture. As many of you know, Arlenis hails from the Dominican Republic and is quite proud to represent her culture whether she’s in New York or on a runway in Paris.

Arlenis wore a gown by fellow Dominican Oscar de la Renta, a designer who has supported her every season that she’s been a model. Arlenis told Lancôme that she was quite nervous, especially when she looked out at the audience filled with Latinos, and was overcome with pride and gratitude.

Arlenis just shot a major Lancôme makeup ad in Paris with a photographer Talking Makeup is yet to find out. We will keep you posted! She’s also hard at work on a special charity project to benefit the underprivileged in her country. Stay tuned for details! Arlenis is currently in Europe taking part in the Spring 2010 collections. Lancôme national makeup artist Tarek Abbas is Arlenis Sosa’s go-to makeup artist so it’s no surprise that he created the look for Arlenis on Monday evening.

To create a polished complexion, Tarek applied Arlenis Sosa’s and then added a touch of color to her cheeks using Color Design Cream Blush in Chic Cassis. To define her eyes, he used Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony on the lower lash line and applied Artliner in Noir to the upper lash line starting at the outer corner. Tarek wanted to give Arlenis a soft, shiny pout so he lined her lips with Le Lipstique in Sheer Chocolate, applied Le Rouge Absolu in Bordeaux and finished with a touch of Juicy Tubes in Dreamsicle.

To prep the skin, Dara moisturized with Aqua Fusion Cream Moisturizer SPF15 and Progrès Eye for a soft, fresh surface. To accentuate Lake’s bold eyes, Dara applied one of her makeup artist techniques and created what she refers to as the “reversed catliner.” She first blended Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony and High Définicils mascara in black to the lower lash line and finished by lining Hypnôse Waterproof mascara in black to the outer corner of the eye. To finish the look, Dara applied Le Lipstique in Ideal to the contour of her lips giving her a beautiful natural pout.

Thanks to Lancôme Talking Makeup has more details on the looks created for the Met Ball 2009. Read on to get the inside scoop straight from the makeup artists who worked with Lancôme ambassador Anne Hathaway, Lancôme spokesmodel Arlenis Sosa and supermodel Du Juan.

Celebrity makeup artist Leslie Lopez gave Hathaway her ultra-glamorous, ultra-dramatic look, with smokey eyes as the focal point. Leslie swept Lancôme Color Design Eyeshadow in Statuesque over the entire eyelid, dabbed Color Design Eyeshadow in Daylight on the brow bone and finished with several coats of Lancôme L’Extreme Mascara in Black. Anne’s sheer, neutral colored lipstick- Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Couture Suede-was the perfect finishing touch.

Lancôme makeup artist Tarek Abbas was the mastermind behind Lancôme spokesmodel Arlenis Sosa’s soft, polished makeup.

First, Tarek lined Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony on the upper lash line and followed with Le Stylo Waterproof in Noir, smudging it on the lower lashes. (Since this formula is waterproof, it’s ideal for the lower lash line!) For a pop of shimmer, Tarek added Color Design Eyeshadow in Kitten Heel to the eyelid. Lancôme Ôscillation Water-Resistant Mascara in Black created a faux-lash effect. For a high-shine pout, he lined the lips with Le Lipstique in Amandelle and topped it with La Laque Fever in Neutral Current.

Lancôme makeup artist Andrew Sotomayor created supermodel Du Juan’s radiant makeup look. He used Lancôme Artliner in Brown on the upper lash line and added a few coats of Lancôme Virtuôse Black Carat Mascara, giving her lashes a boost of volume and length. Andrew added just a touch of color to the eyes with Shu Uemura Eyeshadow in ME Brown 860 and ME Pink 100. He lined the lips with Lancôme Le Lipstique in Natural Mauve and topped it with La Laque Fever gloss in Pink Dimension, resulting in a pretty pink pout. A dusting of Star Bronzer in Bronze Dore gave Du Juan a sun-kissed complexion.

Celebrities, supermodels and fashion designers flocked to The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday for Vogue’s annual, star-studded Costume Institute gala. Hosted by Marc Jacobs, Kate Moss and Justin Timberlake, this was New York’s party of the year!

There was no shortage of glamour on Monday and Lancôme provided the makeup for a bevy of beauties including Lancôme ambassador Anne Hathaway, Lancôme spokesmodel Daria Werbowy and Arlenis Sosa, Alek Wek, Du Juan, Michelle Alves and Vanessa Traina. Thanks to Lancôme, Talking Makeup has the scoop straight from the makeup artists who created the looks for these gorgeous ladies.

Celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin did supermodel Michelle Alves’ pretty, natural makeup. He accentuated the eyes with Lancôme Color Design Eyeshadow Quad in Haute Sunset, a palette of neutral, peachy and beige shades. To create definition, he lined the eyes with Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Noir and added a few coats of Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara in Black. A dusting of Lancôme Blush Subtil in Miel Glace was applied to the apples of the cheek. Daniel used Color Design Lipstick in Love It and Color Fever Gloss in Rose Jolie to create a high-shine, pink pout.

Daniel also created the beautiful look for Vanessa Traina. He applied Lancôme Artliner in Noir (one of the best liquid eyeliners ever! According to Marta Walsh, lol) to the lash line starting at the inner corner and blended it out, then coated the lashes with Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara in Black to add length. He added just a touch of color to her cheeks with Lancôme Color Design Blush in Chic Cassis, applied with his finger. To finish the look, Daniel used Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Rich Cashmere, the perfect hue for a beigey, nude lip.

Celebrity makeup artist Oslyn Holder worked with supermodel Alek Wek. First, Oslyn lined the upper lash line with Le Stylo Waterproof in Noir and blended Color Design Eyeshadow in Statuesque and Backstage Pass on the eyelid. To make Alek’s eyes pop, she applied several coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Mascara in Deep Black. Next, Oslyn added some color to the cheeks using Color Design Cream Blush in Chic Cassis. She finished the look with Color Fever Gloss in Intense to create a beautiful, deep burgundy pout.
