I’m super excited with my recent interview with Hollywood actor Patrick Dempsey. I must admit I was a bit star stacked. Patrick to me represents the quintessential Hollywood glamorous men. He is good looking, well dressed, elegant, yet he’s got a bit of down to earth sporty atitude. In this interview Patrick Dempsey talks to Marta Walsh about his intrigue with the AVON brand, the journey creating his two fragrances for men with AVON, and his idea of the unscripted man.

Marta Walsh: What about AVON as a brand attracted you to collaborate with them?
Patrick Dempsey: My wife, Jillian, was working there and I got to meet them and see what it’s like to work there. Their foundation appealed to me, what they do with the money for domestic violence and breast cancer, the fact that its a company that is proactive about empowering woman and getting them into the work force. It was a great challenge and flattering to make a fragrance and I thoroughly enjoyed the process.

Marta Walsh: You’re certainly not just the face of for this perfume…seems you were really involved… what was the most enjoyable part of creating Patrick Dempsey Unscripted perfume with AVON?
Patrick Dempsey: I loved getting an education on what it takes to make a cologne. Avon was great about answering my questions and teaching me and opening the door of knowledge. I thought I knew what I liked and used them as a jumping off point. It was very creative and I really wanted to be personal with it giving the guidelines

The most rewarding the fulfilling is working with foundations and charities. I was recently in Brazil with AVON and at the hospital to support breast cancer awareness and it was so incredibly fulfilling. Doing something positive is without a doubt the greatest feeling in the world. To leverage my visibility to do something good is so much more positive and rewarding.

Marta Walsh: What kinda man is Unscripted?
Patrick Dempsey: The idea behind each fragrance is to follow your passion in order to be happier in life. You need to be two strong individuals to have a strong couple and I see that in my fragrance.

Summer Skincare: Sunscreen. Even an olive skin girl like me can get sunburn believe it or not. I don’t burn fast but I do if I stay in the sun too long not matter if I’m in sunny Phoenix or at the Mediterranean beach where I grew up. I’ve smelled both Outspoken by Fergie and the Intense version and the latter is less floral fruity and more warm, musky, and sweet. I would say the Intense for night and special occasions and the other for daytime. So I got to interview the fabulous Fergie and this is what she had to tell me.

Marta Walsh: Why should we try Outspoken Intense by Fergie?

Fergie: “Because when you smell it, you’ll know. Females like it, my husband likes it, it’s a great scent. Try it and let me know what you think!”

Marta Walsh: What are some of your best kept beauty secrets?

Fergie: “Hydrate hydrate hydrate…I use cocoa butter lotion which prevents stretch marks, and I uses it every day when out of the shower. I moisturize my hair with 3D rescue….. since for shows my hair is always being colored and styled. My tip: Hydrate the body, the hair, the face… and especially under the eyes.”

With Fergie insisting to be hands on with the creation of her Outspoken perfume for AVON as oppose to just putting her name on it just because she is a celebrity resulted in a meaningful perfume and a true reflection of Fergie’s spirit. Jillian Dempsey seems to have the best job in the world. She is a top Celebrity Makeup Artist and AVON’s Global Creative Color Director a position she took since 2006. She is married to actor Patrick Dempsey so the mystique about Jillian for me is major. I feel she adds greatly to AVON’s makeup collections bringing to us beautiful makeup inspired by her work with Hollywood celebrities and fashion. Jillian Dempsey: It’s a combination of understanding the latest technologies, what women want, and my experience as a Makeup Artist. This how we come out with the latest and greatest products for AVON.

Who doesn’t want to look hot this summer with a nice sun glow, clear complexion, and my ultimate beauty addiction, smoky eye! I was also invited to interview Jillian Dempsey who is AVON’s Global Creative Color Director tomorrow and discuss about her new makeup collection for AVON. Super excited. This is how it works: Lilac-Provides a healthy glow. Pink-hides imperfections and dark circles.

Apricot-Brightens dull complexions, and warms up olive and yellow complexions. Yellow-Counteracts redness. To Use: this concealers are perfect for the areas you wish to improve and perfect. Make sure to apply after your favorite day cream and before a foundation or face powder. Jillian Dempsey For AVON professional eye smokifier. Simply shake then glide applicator across lash line and blend. What I love about this eye smokifier by AVON that is not too fine so I don’t have to keep drawing the line over and over to get that bold line effect. It is not too wet so it doesn’t get messy. Although the tip/applicator is not fine I can still get a precise line. I LOVE it. I’m wearing it right now as I blog. You can use it on the corner of you eyes and lower lids as well but I tend to use a strong pigmented eye shadow to do that for a more diffused look. All in all, it made it to Marta Walsh’s best eye liner list!

Love to the Fullest by Reese Witherspoon Eau de Toilette Spray for Avon is a sensual or should I say warm blend of black cherry and evening primrose mingled with sandstone and cashmeran. It’s an Oriental first mixed with a bit of floral notes. That is, the warm and oriental notes are the dominant makeup of this fragrance.
