Naomi Watts seems to keep getting more beautiful. At the premiere of Salt last night she looked beyond fabulous as she wore a shorter, dramatic new blunt bob with layered side-swept bangs.

The hairstyle & Inspiration: Inspired by the lines of the metallic strapless Gucci mini-dress that Naomi wore, stylist Robert Vetica created a sleek look that referenced 60’s British pop and a Studio 54 vibe refined by a soft, natural mood.

How Naomi Watts got her hairdo: According to Vetica, “It was quite a change for Naomi. I cut 2 inches off , kept her hair blunt and collarbone length, and created bangs that swooped to the side. The length is a bit longer in front and slightly higher in back. The bangs were first cut long and blunt, then razered and texturized to about the bridge of the nose so they looked lighter around the face and were easily swept to the side.

“After we did so many different looks for Cannes, I wanted Naomi to look fresh and young and really different. The look had to accent her gorgeous blonde color, have lots of shine and movement and look really healthy and strong. I started with Moroccanoil Light because fine blonde hair tangles so easily but can’t take too much conditioner. Argan oil-infused Moroccanoil absorbs right into delicate lightened hair, makes it easier to comb, gives it a smoother texture, and eliminates flyaways. It also makes blow drying faster, all without weighing hair down. The strands look light and airy, as it I didn’t use any product.

After I blow dried the hair and shaped it, I used Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for an added boost of shine for when she appeared in the spotlight. I finished off with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to keep flyaways at bay for the length of the evening, while still allowing the hair to move. I did a couple of quick mists from about 6 inches, then put a comb through the hair right away to loosen the look while keeping its hold.

Sienna Miller was spotted with bangs in London, May 26th, 2010, for the the Matthew Williamson’s (the handsome man on right) new store opening. I find Sienna’s entire look inspiring: dress, shoes, handbag, and red lips. Bangs look great on Sienna, however, I would have to pass that look on me. I do not look good with bangs. It’s good to be inspired by others sometimes but I have to keep something of my own.

The Hair Design: “I love this inspiration,” said Odile. “It’s very 70’s New York rock and roll, yet chic and modern. The hair looks beautiful. It’s straight in a natural way, full of body, and shimmering with silky shine. All these Nico (Velvet Underground & Nico) inspired looks have long dramatic bangs that just barely touch the eyebrows and are longer at the sides. In fact, this modern edgy style is identical to the look that Erin Fetherston wears herself.

Fetherston references the singer’s bohemian style in a collection that balances soft romantic dresses with rock’n’roll tailoring, for the poetess at heart. Silhouettes range from long, flowing chiffon dresses to swinging, thigh-skimming shifts. Fetherston works with a dreamy palette of lilac, nude and sage, grounded by a landscape of bold black and white accented with shades of vivid orange. Fabrics include lace, chiffon, leather and velvet intertwined to create clothing with lighter-than-air feeling for a woman with a bit of edge.

How to create the look: Hair Tutorial

1. Odile first blow dried hair smooth using Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream for soft, smooth, frizz-free hold, and silky shine. “It was important that the hair looked natural, not flat, said Odile. “I really like Moroccanoil products because they not only offer beautiful styling results but also work as a double-system to strengthen and condition simultaneously.”

2. She next applied long (human hair) bang extensions, trimmed them to a length slightly touching the eyebrows and layered them longer at the sides to merge into the rest of the hair.

3. Odile used a round Moroccanoil Ionic Ceramic Brush to blow dry the bangs into a more rounded natural-looking look.

4. Odile applied Moroccanoil Treatment to the tips of the hair, including the bangs to smooth, condition and define the ends.

5. She completed the look with argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Luminous Hair Spray. “This product is very good — perfect!” said Odile. “It gives a strong hold without stiffness, buildup or weight, which was especially important for this look since we wanted it to seem as if there was nothing at all in the hair. The shape, natural-looking texture, and beautiful shine were essential elements.”

To create the dramatic, eye-catching hair designs for the L.A.M.B. Fall/Winter 2010 Collection master stylist Danilo used a combination of techniques and emphasized smooth waved curls with a very modern, beautifully luminous shine. Professional argan oil-infused Moroccanoil products were layered to achieve the silky texture, refined shine, and provide free-flowing, moveable hold.

· Danilo first created a center part after blow-drying. He then applied a small amount of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream on small sections to build soft hold and a smooth, frizz-free texture. Hydrating Styling Cream was then pulled through each section with either a comb or brush, depending upon individual hair texture.

· He next misted hair with new argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, and set the hair into tight, curled waves using a small ½” curling iron working down and under from the center part.

· He then pinned each section to cool and clipped in a bang extension. After brushing out the hair, Danilo left some waved curls long while folding others under to create varied chin or shoulder lengths.

The Inspiration: The designer wanted to have 70s gorgeous glowing skin but not too retro to keep it very natural, cool, young, and fresh. She looks like a girl who’s been running through the fields. Keeping the techniques and products very simple as if the look happened naturally in the fields, as if the makeup artist was not there. All the models have fringes/bangs which was inspired by Nico from The Velvet Underground.

The Look: Is all about the natural glowing skin and pink flushed cheeks.

How To Get The Look:

Skin: A moisturizer mixed with few drops of MAC Care Blends Essential Oil and massaged into skin, quite a vigorous massage to really get the blood flowing. Conceal any blemishes.

Cheeks: MAC Fearless Lipstick on the cheeks. The reason Lucia chose a lipstick for blush because it contains the right amount of oil to give that glow, even cream blushes can be sometimes too matte. Heavy moisturizer on the cheekbones. To keep the all look not too greasy or “ugly” powder is added to soften the shine.

Lips: Also use MAC Fearless lipstick as a stain only in the middle of the lips and just tap lips to blend.

Eyes: Lucia wanted to create contour to the eyes but keep the glow so again she is using this time a MAC lipstick named Cocochino (Available August 2010) which is a bronzy brown all over the eye lids. Lip balm is added to the inner corners of the eye to create a highlight. Powder is also added under eye to prevent too much reflection.

It was a mod, mod world backstage at Fall 2010 Fashion Week. From Erin Fetherston to Cynthia Steffe, the look for hair was all about thick, blunt-cut bangs that harkened back to the mod squad models of the late 1960′s and early 1970′s. Here, some of our favorite versions of the look. Consider yourself warned: The bang is back and it’s bigger (and blunter) than ever.

At Cynthia Steffe, Bumble and bumble lead stylist Rolando Beauchamp gave models a clip-on faux bang to help embody the late 1960′s cool British/French girl inspiration. “We’re doing a really thick fringe, but the texture on the hair is dirty, like two-day old hair,” he said. The slept in texture added to the cool girl feel, giving models a messy-sexy hairstyle that was retro without being too literal.

Celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves tells Talking Makeup how to get Nelly Furtado’s hairdo at the 2009 AMA’s!

“For Nelly, we (Roberta Rogers from my LA salon and I) created a sleek ponytail with thick, modern chunky bangs. We started by spraying her damp hair with a volumizing spray (try my Ken Paves Healthy Hair Volumizing Spray, $22), and blowing it straight with my Ken Paves Professional Hair Dryer ($100, ULTA), using a Mason Pearson brush.

Once dry, we began tightly braiding the sides of Nelly’s hair upwards towards the crown of her head (and away from her face). This created a high ponytail, which I secured with a hooked elastic.
