Top Beauty Trends Unveiled by CEW

In preparation for this year’s 2014 CEW Finalist announcement (this Friday, April 4), here’s an inside scoop on this year’s leading beauty innovations.

Here are some of this year’s top beauty trends:

Stellar Beauties Float Down The Lela Rose Runway

Here’s one look of show that’s standing out amidst all the bold, urban, and even vampire-inspired beauty trends we’ve seen at Fall 2010 Fashion Week: Lela Rose looked up to the sky, the moon, and the stars for the beauty inspiration of her fall 2010 fashion show.

Makeup artist Tina Turnbow for Beauty.com created a moonlight smokey eye effect using a shimmery dark gray eye shadow (from the Tarte Eye Couture Palette). “The color looks like the midnight sky and the irridesence is reminiscent of the stars,” she says. “The shape of the eye shadow is spherical because it goes well into the inner corners, which makes it look round like a planet and opens up the eye.” Even the lip has a celestial twist. “It’s a cloudy sheer white gloss,” says Turnbow. The models’ nails were painted with Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe nail polish, a midnight blue with lots of sparkle–another nod to the sky and the stars. Top Beauty Trends At The SAG Awards

The award show season is officially upon us, which means gorgeous gowns and trendsetting beauty looks are de riguer on the red carpet. The Golden Globes set the bar pretty high, but the the Screen Actors Guild  Awards (SAG), which were held on Saturday, took the glam factor to the max. From the ladies of Nine, shown above, to the rest of Hollywood’s elite, the hairstyles and makeup effects were off the gorgeous charts. Here, our favorite trends:

They say true glamour never goes out of style and in the case of Diane Kruger, Anna Kendrick and Marion Cotillard, this couldn’t be more true. Each of these stunning stars opted for retro, old-school Hollywood vibe, which meant classic, structured updo’s, seriously smoky eyes, lots of lashes and a strong lip look. We think Diane stole the show with her creamy red lip, porcelain skin and sleek hairstyle, but bright-eyed newcomer Anna and French siren Marion were also red carpet standouts with their bold, colorful eyeshadow and side-parted ‘dos.
