I absolutely love Eve Mendes outfit at the premiere of Sherlock Holmes at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on December 17, 2009 in New York City. It’s refreshing to see a white lacy dress underneath her boyfriend’s jacket. I’m totally inspired! More white goes into my closet because at the moment I’m the black queen. I also love the updo. And if you agree with me, I have tips on how to get Eva’s hairdo thanks to Thomas Dunkin from the Sebastian Professional Stylist Design Team.

Thomas shares his styling tips for recreating Eva’s red carpet look at home:

1) Start by dampening the hair and pulling through a small amount of Sebastian Professional Potion 9 Lite. Take a 4″ section of hair at the crown and saturate it with Thickefy Foam before blow-drying. Then put in approx. six medium-sized velcro rollers.

2) Leave the hair to dry and the crown section to set for several minutes.

3) Next, make a soft part on the left hand side and pull the hair back around to the right. Holding the hair around tightly to the right, bobby pin upwards toward the crown securing the hair very tightly. From here, pull the hair back, twist it under and secure over the bobby pins placed previously.

4) Now the crown section needs to be backcombed and manipulated over the twist at the back. Use a medium-sized curling iron to create a soft wave at the front that falls over one eye giving a soft sensual feel to the hair. Place a hair band just in front of the height and leave random pieces of hair to gently fall out, adding a natural feel to a look that can easily appear too structured otherwise.

5) To finish, lightly layer some of the Sebastian Professional Microweb Fiber to give a textured effect, which is rare in an updo. To hold the look for the evening, apply Shaper Fierce Hairspray to make sure the hair stays immaculate for the evening.

Celebrity Stylist Theodore Leaf Tends the Tresses of 90210 Star Jessica Lowndes with BIOLUSTRÉ before her 21st Birthday Bash, November 7, a the The Roosevelt Hotel, Hollywood CA.

The Look: A glamorous, “showgirl” up-do inspired by Moulin Rouge.

To restore healthy shine to her hair and prepare for styling, Jessica used Biolustré’s intense 4-step repair system:

- Release Cleansing Shampoo: A gentle, low PH cleansing shampoo designed to remove excess oils and product build-up.
- Revive Repair Treatment: A unique formula clinically proven to repair hair to a near virgin condition, restoring softness, shine and strength.
- Restore Maintenance Treatment Shampoo: An innovative formula containing Biolustré’s exclusive Lustreloc Technology, which delivers low levels of polymers to provide added strength and shine to hair.

- Renew Daily Conditioning Sealant: A lightweight conditioner formulated with ingredients including mint and tea tree oil for a soothing sensation. Renew is designed to help smooth the hair cuticle and seal in moisture.

One her hair was treated, Theodore Leaf created her style by blow drying the hair with a large round brush, applying a lifting spray at the roots to create some height for the updo. After blow drying, he loosely pinned back sections of curls to maximize body and volume. He then combed the top of the hair with a fine tooth comb to add height. After that, he gently teased at the roots and finished with putty to set the style. Front pieces were pinned back with a festive hair clip.

Available at www.biolustre.com , $49.95 for the set.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Hair Trends Report:

Designer: Charlotte Ronson Spring 2010 Collection
Hair by: lead stylists Allen Ruiz for Avon Advance Techniques
Hair Trend: Classic Ballerina Chignon

Inspiration: The look mirrors the Charlotte Ronson collection, which is inspired by a remake of 80’s style. The hair was created to evoke a fresh, young wispy look and a “just walked out of dance class at Julliard” look to play off her fabrics and bold designs.

How to get the hairdo:

Step 1: Prep the hair from root to tip with Advance Techniques Salon Volume Finishing Spray to enhance natural shine and create volume.

Step 2: Using the Advance Techniques Paddle Brush and hair dryer, distribute the Advance Techniques Salon Volume Finishing Spray by sectioning off the hair and blow-drying to ensure that there is a natural, soft texture.

Step 3: Next, gather the hair tight to form a ponytail at the back crown of the head and secure with a ponytail holder keeping all sides flat.

Step 4: Holding hair at the base of the ponytail, twist the hair firmly in one direction to form a kink in to a spiral. Secure with bobby pins.

Step 5: On the sides, using the little hairs “muse” the wispy hairs to play up the natural texture.

Step 6: Lightly spray Advance Techniques Hair Spray to complete the style and hold in place.
