Tibi Fall 2010 makeup face chart with Bobbi Brown

Unaware of the beauty she possesses, the Tibi woman always exudes disheveled elegance in the most unintentional, yet glamorous way. A fresh, dewy face provides the perfect canvas for showcasing a 60s-inspired “cat eye” with winged liner and dramatically defined lashes. A bit of pink blush on the cheek and a nude lip polish off this soft, youthful look that marries pretty with powerful.

The makeup breakdown. All products by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.

Skin: Hydrating Face Cream ($50), Hydrating Eye Cream ($45), Skin Foundation ($45), Tinted Eye Brightener ($38)

Eyes: Heather Long-Wear Cream Shadow ($22) and Slate Long-Wear Cream Shadow ($22) on lower-lid, Blonde Eye Shadow ($20) in crease, Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink ($22), Perfectly Defined Mascara ($22)

The Look & Inspiration: A 1930s Egyptian influence weaves together fashion and beauty at the Fall 2010 Rachel Roy Fashion Show. Peacock prints are lifted from feminine silhouettes and translated into bold, beautiful makeup. Iridescent “peacock feather” eyes gleam in denim and burgundy metallic shades from brow to lower lash line with a hint of aqua on inner corners, ultimately lined with a black kohl pencil. An even, dewy finish of the skin, softly defined pink cheek, and sheer beige lip allow the eyes to be the star of this show.

These are the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics makeup used to get the Rachel Roy Fall 2010 runway look:

Inspired by a collection rich in texture, the makeup for the Fall 2010 Yigal Azrouel collection is about the texture of the skin. Chic, yet effortless, skin is bronzed with emphasis on cheeks, and eyes are softly defined in beige and brown tones. Nude lips complete a fairly monotone, natural look, with the exception of a strong, linear, defined brow.

This November, Bobbi Brown introduces her new Extreme Party Mascara – the first ever all-day layer-able mascara!

“For women who want the dramatic look of false lashes without the hassle.” – Bobbi Brown

Why is it different? Thanks to Bobbi’s new “re-activation” formula, each new coat of Extreme Party Mascara remains as clean and buildable as the first- whether you choose to go bolder right away or ten hours later.

- Between fresh coats, lashes stay separated and soft.
- Lashes continue to get thicker and bolder without clumping or flaking every time you want to layer on more volume and length.
- Tapered, two-fiber brush grabs even small, hard-to-reach lashes.
- Dries fast to a smudge-proof, flake-proof finish.
- Enriched with Vitamins A, C and E.
- Ophthalmologist and dermatologist-tested. Safe for contact wearers.
- Removes easily with eye makeup remover or face soap and water.

Extreme Party Mascara will be available in black from www.bobbibrown.com and Bobbi Brown counters beginning November 2009.

A year or so ago, I was given an amazing opportunity to interview Bobbi Brown, founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. I would love to share my interview with Bobbi with you, just in case you’ve missed it:)

Bobbi Brown is the queen of makeup. Not only has she worked with an endless list of celebrities as a makeup artist, she is also the brilliant mind behind the ever popular Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Find out what it takes to be Bobbi Brown!

Bobbi Brown

Marta Walsh: When did your interest in makeup begin?
Bobbi Brown: Ever since I was a little girl I was interested in makeup. I used to watch my mother put on her white eye shadow and pale pink lipstick in amazement. When I was young I would paint all of my dolls’ faces with makeup, pretending they were real people.

MW: What was your biggest break as a professional makeup artist?
BB: Landing my first Vogue cover with Naomi Campbell.

MW: How was the concept for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics born?
BB: I wanted to create brown-based lipsticks (10) that actually flattered women’s lips, rather than looking fake and garish.

MW: At what point did you know for sure your cosmetics line was going to be a success?
BB: When I first launched in Bergdorf’s I thought I was going to sell 100 lip sticks in a month. I sold 100 in the first day!

MW: You unveiled the The Studio in Montclair N.J. which is Bobbi Brown Cosmetics first stand-alone store. What is this store’s mission?
BB: The Studio is more than just a store. Behind the store there is also a huge space which is used as a combination of a training ground for our internal makeup artists which keeps them up to date on Bobbi’s signature tips and techniques and is also a space for conducting training classes for women who are interested in developing their own artistry techniques. The Studio offers the ultimate makeup classes and experiences for to the public. For the full list of services click here.

MW: What’s your favorite new product this year at Bobbi Brown Cosmetics?
BB: I love my New Moisturizing Cream Compact Foundation because it’s the first compact foundation for dry skin that actually looks natural, rather than thick and cakey. Plus, it provides unbelievable all-day moisturization and instantly softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

MW: Where do you find the muse for creating new makeup looks?
BB: I take my inspiration from the women I meet, and from color – the colors I see in everyday life and especially the colors I see naturally in people’s faces. I am also deeply inspired by my love of art and art stores; there are so many great colors and unexpected textures to explore. As far as the products themselves, very often, I’ll come up with something on the spot– something I mixed together and felt I just had to have in my line.

MW: What have been some of your most memorable celebrity collaborations?
BB: I LOVED working with Susan Sarandon because she is so beautiful not only on the outside but on the inside as well.

MW: What is your number one beauty secret?
BB: Concealer! It’s the secret to the universe. It instantly brightens you face masking you look more awake and refreshed.

MW: What is your philosophy about beauty?
BB: I believe that women should be who they are and that they should keep their makeup and their life simple, real and approachable.

MW: You have written four New York Times best-sellers, where do you draw the inspiration for your books and which book did you enjoy writing most?
BB: Writing books is a way for me to empower women with knowledge. The ideas for the books have come to me in much the same way that the ideas for products come to me. It often starts with a feeling in my gut and I take it from there. For example, I got the idea for Living Beauty (which offers women much needed alternatives to plastic surgery) right around the time when all the extreme makeover shows were reaching critical mass. I felt like someone just needed to say, “Stop. Plastic surgery is not the only option.”

MW: What compelled you to get involved in the Dress for Success organization?
BB: I was at a luncheon when I heard the DFS founder Nancy Lublin talk of how she started DFS with a 5,000 inheritance from her great-grandfather (Poppy Max). It was a truly inspiring story and I wanted to be a part of the wonderful organization.

MW: To what do you attribute to your successful transition from a makeup artist to multi-faceted business women?
BB: Being nice to everyone—people appreciate niceness. It’s also about working with great people. I often say that it takes a village.

MW: What other passions do you have besides your work?
BB: My family!
