Here is Dr Alan Bienstock about Lip Suspension and Augmentation:
When a woman ages, gravity lengthens the distance between the nose and the lips. This leads to a diminished pout and less prominent cupid’s bow in conjunction with thinner and narrower lips. Lip suspension , performed with or without fat grafting, provides a round, full convex shape to the cupid’s bow of the upper lip. This provides long lasting results unlike the soft tissue fillers.

Very small hidden incisions are made in the nostrils to suspend and roll out the upper lip to create this more convex, youthful appearance. The overall effect is a more harmonious look of the entire face with an everted lip with more fullness that has a more youthful pout. This technique can be performed in the office with local anesthesia and has minimal down time.

Fat grafting is a technique and strategy to combat this progession and to restore fullness to the face.a patient’s own fat can be injected and sculpted to smooth out contour deficiencies, scars, and aging to help create a more youthful appearance by restoring elasticity to the skin. This fat is harvested from the patient’s body using liposuction techniques and processed accordingly. It is injected meticulously into areas of contour abnormalities/irregularities or areas that require volume enhancement such as the cheeks and lips. It can also fill in lines and wrinkles in the forehead, chin , and nasolabial folds. It is most effective in treating the tear trough deformity or hollowed out and skeletonized eyes. Fat grafts offer the benefit of potential permanent correction and enhancement compared to the evanescent soft tissue fillers which are always absorbed.
