Kate Bosworth’s Makeup Oscars 2012

MAKEUP INSPIRATION Kate Bosworth’s Her dress!

PRODUCTS

Skincare: I prepped Kate’s skin with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum ($135.00, Available April 2012), then applied a layer of Laura Mercier Iluminizing Face Primer.

Eye Shadow: On her lids I applied CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Rose de Mai ($28.50), for a natural, pretty look.

Eye Brows: Her brows were groomed with Anastasia Brow Gel.

Foundation: I used CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Long Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 10 ($55.00) to perfect Kate’s perfect skin.

Blush: On her cheeks I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Orchid Rose ($43.00), and on the upper planes of her face, cheek bones and bridge I applied CHANEL Poudre Douce Soft Pressed Powder in Rose ($50.00).

Mascara: I curled the lashes with the CHANEL Precision Eyelash Curler ($34.00), better than the best! And completed the eyes with CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir ($30.00), gently brushing through top and bottom lashes.

Lipstick: For Kate’s lips I applied CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Lipshine in Aventure ($32.00), to finish the look.

BRIT MARLING ~ MAKEUP BY CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST DARLENE JACOBS

Brit Marling Makeup Oscars 2012

The Inspiration for Brit is always Brit herself. We always want to keep her looking true to herself while making sure to compliment the dress. Brit really likes to feel like she looks like herself and doesn’t look made-up or made-over. The most important aspect of achieving this is making sure the skin looks like real skin. A heavy eye or a dark lip always look most beautiful to when the skin looks fresh and authentic.

PRODUCTS

Skincare: I started Brit’s look with CHANEL Purete Ideale Serum ($75.00) on clean skin. This helps keep shine down on the red carpet with all the flashing lights as well as tightens pores so the makeup stays looking fresh throughout the long evening. I followed this with a light moisturizer that I really massaged into the skin. Massage stimulates blood circulation, helps the skin to absorb the benefits of the skincare, warms up the skin for better makeup application, and, perhaps most importantly, relaxes the talent! Protecting the delicate eye area was next with CHANEL Beaute Initiale Eye ($70.00). Because the skin around the eye is thinner than that on the rest of the face it always needs more protection. Beaute Initiale Eye is great because it softens the skin around the eye area allowing for the makeup to glide on rather than pull at the skin. At the same time, it really sinks in and doesn’t leave a film on the eye area that causes concealer to crease or mascara and eyeliner to run. I finished off Brit’s skincare with CHANEL Ultra Correction Lift Plumping Anti-Wrinkle Lips and Contour ($85.00). Soft lips are imperative to a beautiful color application weather you’re using lipliner, lipstick, or gloss. I specifically like Ultra Correction Lift Plumping Anti-Wrinkle Lips and Contour because it absorbs into the lips and keeps color from feathering.

Foundation: After all of the prepping of the Brit’s skin it was ready for CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Long Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 10 ($55.00) which evened out her skin tone. I initially applied it with a foundation brush to keep the distribution to the areas that needed it most, and followed up by really working in the foundation with my fingers. I find working foundations in with my fingers gives it the most real texture.

Hightlighter: To highlight her skin, I applied CHANEL Limited Edition Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Jasmin ($45.00).

Eye Liner: For Brit’s look I focused on just lining the eyes, using CHANEL Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir ($34.00).

Mascara: To finish the eye look, I then added two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir ($30.00).

Lipstick: I finished her look by applying CHANEL Aqua Crayon Lip Colour Stick in Cognac ($26.00) all over the lip.

KATE HUDSON ~ FINGERS & TOES PAINTED BY CELEBRITY MANICURIST ASHLIE JOHNSON

Kate Hudson’s Nail Polish Oscars 2012

Since her dress was a vibrant red, Hollywood vixen style, we didn’t want the hands to be too matchy-matchy. So we chose CHANEL Nail Colour in Rose Cache because its almost skin color but has a beautiful sheen to it still. She never had that color before and really loved it. On the toes we decided it would be beautiful to match the dress so if a toe showed you would get a little pop of color. Kate is also very into fun bright colors and red in particular, so even after the party she will get to keep it awhile.

PRODUCTS

CHANEL Nail Colour in Rose Cache ($26.00) on fingers

CHANEL Nail Colour in Rose Carat ($26.00) on toes

How-To Get Nicole Kidman’s Makeup Look

To start the process, Angela primed Nicole’s face with CHANEL Sublimage Essential Revitalizing Concentrate and CHANEL Hydra Beauty Hydration Protection Radiance Serum. To even out the skin tone, she applied a thin layer of Senna Barely Base in Light, and then a layer of CHANEL Vitalumiere Moisture-Rich Radiance Fluid Makeup SPF 15 in Ivoire. To play up Nicole’s eyes Angela used the taupe shade in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lilium all over the lids, followed by the deep green shade to define the upper lash line. She lined under the lower lash line with Face Eyeshadow in Steel, and then the lashes were finished with CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir.
SHAILENE WOODLEY AT THE 2012 GOLDEN GLOBES

CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST GLORIA NOTO. Inspiration: “The inspiration for this look was a young fresh cool girl that didn’t look overly done up but red carpet perfected,” said Noto. “We wanted to keep the look simple and clean since the dress was such a huge statement, and allow Shailene’s natural beauty to shine through.”

How-To Get Shailene Woodley’s Makeup Look

“On her skin I used CHANEL Hydra Beauty Hydration Protection Radiance Serum. I then applied the CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 on her skin with a brush. Focusing on the eyes, I used the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes, starting out with the lightest color of the Quad and a round tip brush, and buffed it along her top and bottom lash line. I used the darkest color with a smaller stiff brush on the outer edges to give more definition, since we did not use an actual eyeliner pencil. Lots of layers of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir were applied to Shai’s long eyelashes, top and bottom, and extra on the outer edges.

Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base was applied to the contours of her face to give it a natural definition. CHANEL Eclat Lumiere Highlighter Face Pen was used on the high brow bone points as well as the bow of her lip, inner corner of her eyes and above her eyebrow arch to give her a soft natural dewy finish. On her lips was CHANEL Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm to prep and CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in Destinee, applied with a brush and blotted to create a sheer lip stain. A tiny hint of CHANEL Powder Blush in Espigle was applied to the apple of the cheek and buffed into the cheekbones.”

With beauty inspirations ranging from “a colorful spring garden” to “1950’s modern glam”, some of the industry’s top makeup artists created looks using classic products and the latest creations from Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup to realize their exquisite visions.

Some standout CHANEL products used were Sublimage La Crème, Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine, Inimitable Intense Mascara and Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15.”

BLAKE LIVELY / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST VIVIAN BAKER

Inspiration:

“Venus inspired, a sexy and naked look.”

How-To:

Vivian first used CHANEL Sublimage Essential Revitalizing Concentrate to prepare Blake’s skin. Next, she lightly swiped CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Désert across her face and added Guerlain Terracotta Concealer 02.

On the apples of her cheeks, Vivian used Stila Petunia Blush and lightly brushed CHANEL Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Terre Ambre over her nose, forehead and jawline. She then layered Becca Mermaid Shimmering Eyeshadow and the gold shade from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices on the eye and finished with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. The look was completed with CHANEL Rouge Allure Gloss in Genie and CHANEL Glossimer in Pensée.

Products used:

CHANEL Sublimage Essential Revitalizing Concentrate, $425.00

CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Désert, $45.00

CHANEL Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Terre Ambre, $50.00

CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices, $57.00

CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, $30.00

CHANEL Glossimer in Pensée, $28.50

MICHELLE WILLIAMS / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST JEANINE LOBELL

Inspiration:

“The gold birds on Michelle’s dress really inspired us to go for a golden look… We wanted something chic, but a little edgy to offset the black of the dress. We felt a modern ‘golden smoky eye’ would be cool and fresh, but not washed out.”

How-To:

“I started by applying with my fingers, CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Pastel very lightly all over the face and under the eyes; then I set it with the CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Clair – Translucent 1.

For her eyes, I used the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes applying the palest shade all over they eye area to act as a base so I was able to smoothly blend the other shades into it. I then applied the softer of the brown shades in the crease of the eye, wrapping it as a smoky liner under the eye. Then I added the darker brown shade in the upper lash line. I used CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Espresso inside the eye and as a sharper line on the top eyelash line. Lastly, I used CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir on the top and bottom lashes.

I used the CHANEL Precision Brow Definer in Soft Brown in the brows, above the brow to the outside of the brow, to create an arch and filling in below and on the inside.

I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Tempting Beige, as it works great as a contouring cheek color. I used it under the cheek bone, fanning it up over apples of cheeks. For her lips, I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Canotier for a pale, beige-gold light wash on the lips to keep everything soft and balanced.”

AMY ADAMS / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST STEPHEN SOLITTO

Inspiration:

“Tonight’s inspiration for the Met Ball was Amy’s sophisticated L’Wren Scott dress. It was this beautiful mauve with an intricate black pattern. As soon as I saw the picture of the dress, I knew I would do a muted smoky eye with the CHANEL Eyeshadow Duo in Misty-Soft. It was a perfect color match. “

How-To:

“To start the process, I primed Amy’s face with CHANEL Sublimage Essential Regenerating Fluid. This moisturizer is so luxurious; it really feels likes it’s working on your skin to get it in the best condition before the big night.

Amy has beautiful skin, but for the red carpet it needs to be perfection. CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige – Pastel is how I achieved that with her. It gives flawlessly light coverage so your skin looks its best. Healthy, but not too shiny.

I love doing Amy’s eyes because they are so perfectly shaped and as soon as you put anything on them they pop. To make them stand out tonight I lined her upper lids with CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Cassis. To be dramatic and get swept up in the glamour of the Met Ball, I dragged this line way out past the lashes as well. Next, I swept the deeper purple shade in the CHANEL Eyeshadow Duo in Misty-Soft over the Cassis to blend and soften from lash line all the way to brow. I also took the brush and applied this shade to her lower lash line connecting this to the upsweep on her lids. To pop the eyes from underneath, I used CHANEL Cassis again on her lower lash line and to make sure the color match wasn’t too precious I dusted the outer upper and lower corners of her eye with the darker grey shade in the CHANEL Eyeshadow Duo in Gris-Subtil. I topped off her look with Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir on both the upper and lower lashes.

On Amy’s cheeks, I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Dust as it gave her the perfect flush she needed. To pull her whole look together, I applied CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Bel-Ami. This lip is strong, but wearable and a perfect balance to her smoky eye. To add a final touch, I applied CHANEL Nail Colour in Black Satin to her hands, and when she left for the Met Ball she looked like the movie star she is.”

CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Bel-Ami, $32.00

EMMA STONE / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST RACHEL GOODWIN

Inspiration:

“Emma’s Met Ball make up was inspired by the graphic black and white floral print of her dress. The lack of color prompted me to bring elements of a colorful spring garden into the makeup look opting for bold, feminine color on her lips, eyes and cheeks for a fresh youthful statement.”

How-To:

“On her skin, I used CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rosé- Pastel. This lightweight, luminous formula allowed me to perfectly even out her skin while still letting her gorgeous freckles to show. I’m obsessed with her freckles!

On her eyes, I used a wash of pale pink shimmer from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lilium on the entire lid; then I boosted her lash line with two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir after placing Ardel individual lashes to the end of her eyes only. I finished by lining her inner eyelid with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair for a subtle contrast.”

CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lilium, $57.00

CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair, $28.00

HAILEE STEINFELD / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST STEPHEN SOLITTO

Inspiration:

“Hailee is such a beautiful, strong young woman. She’s as sweet and honest as you’ll ever meet. This is her first Met Ball and the experience will be unforgettable. As for her look our inspiration was Juliette, as in Romeo and Juliette. Romantic, soft, young and beautiful.”

How-To:

“To start, I moisturized her face with honestly the most luxurious product I have ever used, CHANEL Sublimage La Creme. This is a beautifully whipped moisturizing cream that is heaven on the skin. If you can treat yourself to one product this season this would be it. After moisturizing, I used CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige – Tendre, lightly just to even out her skin.

Hailee’s eyes are the most beautiful golden brown color. To bring out the gold and to complement her gorgeous romantic dress, I chose CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices. From the lash line to her eye brows and underneath the lash line I used all gold to reflect the gold in her eyes and make them sparkle. On her lids I used the beautiful cinnamon brown to make them pop and to work off the color of the dress.

To strengthen her lash line, I lined with CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Espresso and then layered the deep plum from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Kaska Beige over to soften that line. I topped her eyes off with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. On Hailee’s cheeks, I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Dust in her hollows. Then to warm it up, I dashed CHANEL Blush Duo Tweed Effect in Tweed Corail on her apples. And of course one of my favorite features are the lips. I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Elise to richen up the color and deepen the tone just on the bottom lip. Then on her whole lip I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Fetiche for a rosy healthy pink. She looked stunning and charmed the red carpet.”

CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Fetiche, $32.00

SARAH JESSICA PARKER / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST LESLIE LOPEZ

Inspiration:

“Sarah Jessica’s look reminded me of Tippi Hedren from the movie “The Birds”. She was wearing a gold-grey metallic dress that had a 50’s glamour feel, but I didn’t want to focus on 50’s makeup. I wanted to make it modern and glamorous.”

How-To:

Leslie started the look with CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rosé- Tendre and CHANEL Éclat Lumière Face Pen in Medium, and then finished off the cheek with CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Dust.

For the eyes, Leslie used CHANEL Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Torrent and lined the inside of the eyes with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir. For the lips, she wanted a very pretty rose pink look and used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Fétiche.

Products used:

CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Fétiche, $32.00

NAOMI WATTS / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST JO STRETTELL

Inspiration:

“Naomi was wearing the most beautiful sheer, peachy-beige dress with long sleeves and a fitted body with layers of a billowing skirt made in the finest net and encrusted with diamonds, which was absolutely breathtaking. I wanted to contrast the sparkly fairy feeling by creating strong eyes, a contoured cheek and a pale, beige-nude with a hit of grey.”

How-To:

“To prepare the skin, I used CHANEL Sublimage La Crème. Then I evened out the skin to a natural, glowy finish using CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Tendre.

On the eyes, I used colors from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes, lining the lash line above and below and lining the socket line with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Ambre, and then blending and smoking with the darker brown eyeshadow shade from the palette. Next, I started highlighting the inside corner and ball of the lid, as well as the brow bone, with the lighter color in the Quad. I then curled the lashes and applied CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir.

I used a golden blush to contour the cheeks, and then finished the look with CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Biarritz on the lips.”

Products used:

CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, $30.00

CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Biarritz, $32.00

GWYNETH PALTROW / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST ANGELA LEVIN

Inspiration: “GOLDEN SUN! SUN KISSED! ..a vision of light”

How-To:

Angela started with the skin using CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Sienne. She then focused on her eyes and cheeks using the CHANEL Exclusive Creation Lumières Byzantines de Chanel; she used all five palette colors to create a luxurious, alluring look for her eyes and cheeks. On the eye lids, Angela used the silvery shade from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshaodw in Mystic Eyes as well as the brown shade, using an angled brush. Lastly, to frame the eye she used CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. To finish off the look Angela used CHANEL Powder Blush in Espiègle on the cheeks and CHANEL Rouge Allure Gloss in Imaginaire on the lips.

Products used:

CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige – Sienne, $45.00

DIANNA AGRON / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST ANGELA LEVIN

Inspiration: “Clean, beautiful and simple.”

How-To:

Angela prepped Dianna’s skin with CHANEL Sublimage La Crème and then applied CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rose – Tendre to even out her skin, adding CHANEL Éclat Lumière Face Pen in Beige Rosé under the eyes, and setting the look with CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Clair – Translucent 1.

For the eyes, Angela used CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Ebloui and Mirifique (available in July 2011), she then used Talika Eye Brow Extender in Light Brown to shape the eyes, and completed the eyes with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir.

CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, $30.00

CHRISTINA HENDRICKS / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST VANESSA SCALI

Inspiration:

“Christina’s makeup was directly inspired by her strapless dress. The dress had an earthy, mermaid feel. You can picture her appearing from out of the mist in Ireland just in time for the Ball. This look is a contrast of simplicity and sophistication: nude skin, ruddy-rosy cheeks and flush lips paired with intense, sultry copper eyes.”

How-To:

“First, I prepared her skin by using CHANEL Sublimage La Crème. This cream is rich, luxurious and penetrating. Then I applied CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Pastel. This formula is so exciting! From the moment I tried it, it has been a staple in my bag. It’s effortless to apply and light as air — perfect for making the skin look nude, but flawless. CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Petale was applied to the apples of the cheeks blending outward.

For definition and intensity, I lined her eyes with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir at the base of the lashes and on the inside rim of the eye (one of my favorite ways to secretly make lashes look thicker and define the eyes is to line the inside rim, on the waterline). Then using CHANEL Makeup Shadow/ Liner Brush #4, I smudged the line for a softer effect. Using the rich copper shade from the CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Spices, I applied color from the lash line to just above the crease and swept past the natural outer corner to exaggerate and elongate the eye. This color continues under the bottom lashes, blended well. Then to highlight the brow bone, I used a touch of CHANEL Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Delta. I finished the eye by framing it with lush, dramatic lashes – CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. You can never have too many lashes and this mascara really delivers.

For lips I wanted a flush, clean look so I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Sari D’Eau. And the last touch was a dusting of CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Clair – Translucent 1 on her T-zone.”

Products used:

CHANEL Sublimage La Crème, $390.00

CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Pastel, $45.00

CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Petale, $43.00

CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir, $28.00

CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Spices, $57.00

CHANEL Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Delta, $32.00

CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, $30.00

CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Sari D’Eau, $32.00

MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL / CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST BENJAMIN PUCKEY

Inspiration:

“Maggie chose a beautiful blue sequined dress to wear, so we decided to keep the makeup very polished and luminous with a pop of glossy color on the lips. Maggie still had an amazing glow from a recent vacation that we wanted to accentuate as well.”

How-To:

“I started with a light touch of CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Tendre to even out her skin tone and CHANEL Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Bronze Rosé applied on the top of her cheekbone and temples.

The eyes were kept fresh and defined with the shimmering beige shades in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Dunes. Two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir accentuated her long lashes.

We chose CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Elise, a berry-rose shade, to complement the blue sequined dress and applied it without a lip liner just as a glossy lip stain.”

Products used:

CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Tendre, $45.00

CHANEL Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Bronze Rosé, $50.00

CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Dunes, $57.00

CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, $30.00

Mila Kunis in CHANEL Beauté. CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin worked with Mila Kunis at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday, January 5th, 2011. Marta Walsh has Rachel’s makeup tips below on how to get Mila’s smoky, sophisticated red carpet look.

How to get Mila Kunis’makeup look:

“I wanted Mila’s makeup to be sophisticated and sultry like the soft lines and colour of her dress. I accentuated her incredible eyes with a very soft earth-tone smoky eye. I started by blending CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Winter Nights, and finishing it with CHANEL Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Torrent, a khaki shimmer, on her upper eyelid. I blended a smoky quartz pencil along the inner bottom eye for a bit more intensity.I kept the rest of her face very understated with soft peach cream blush, and a flesh toned gloss, CHANEL Rouge Allure Gloss in Insouciance.

Jennifer Aniston’s makeup at the Los Angeles premiere of The Switch by Celebrity Makeup Artist Angela Levin:

“I first prepped Jen’s face with the new CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate, to enhance her already radiant skin. Her base was La Mer Foundation in 06, and on her cheeks I dusted a bit of CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Pétale. On her eyes I used CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Tentation Cuivré, a rich brown and copper shadow palette new for Holiday. The warm shades compliment Jen’s gorgeous eye colour.

Starting from the inner corners of her lashes, I blended the shadow out, going from light to dark. For the liner, I used Tarte Clay Pot Eyeliner in Black. Finally, to make her blue eyes really pop, I finished with three coats of

CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. I applied one coat, then brushed out the lashes, a second coat, again brushed out the lashes, and finally a third coat using a fan brush. Jen’s lips were natural with CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Cashmere, a beigey peach shade, and Kevyn Aucoin Lip Pencil in Bare.”

Kate Bosworth in CHANEL Beauté. CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee worked with Kate Bosworth at the season premiere of True Blood on Tuesday, June 8th. 2010. Kate shares with us her tips on how to get Kate’s warm, sun kissed makeup look!

The Makeup Tutorial:

“The base was minimal, Kate was tanned and so I prepped the skin with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum to make sure she was very hydrated, and a tiny wisp of CHANEL Vitalumiere Fluid Makeup was enough to bring the skin tone to match the chest and body.

Across the bridge of the nose, top of the cheek bones, and around the hairline, I used CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel in Terre Ambre to bring the focus to the center of the face. On the lids I used matte peach shadow to pop the colours of Kate’s amazing eyes. We decided to give a gentle nod to the 60′s influenced hair by drawing a very thin sharp black line next to the lashes with CHANEL Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir, extending out past the end of the lash line to open the outer corners of the eye. Lashes were coated twice with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir (available in September 2010), and bottom lashes were left naked. To open the eye further, I swept the new nude CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair (available in July 2010) inside the lower eye lid . I worked to elongate and define the brows with a liquid brow pen by Anastasia. The cheeks were CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Temptation, (available in July 2010) and the lips were CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Secret.”

CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee worked with Rose Byrne at the Los Angeles premiere of Get Him To The Greek on Tuesday, May 25th, 2010. The Look & Inspiration: Sultry, 1960′s inspired makeup look.

How to makeup tutorial by CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee:

“Rose’s look was part Penelope Tree, part Belle du Jour. She has incredible eyebrows, and I wanted to push that 1960′s shape but keep it modern. ” “I worked along the lash line with CHANEL Long Lasting Eyeliner in Ebénè. I blended it out and into the socket line.

Over the top I worked with CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Ebony pressing the colour in to make it intense. I then used a clean brush to gently pull a little colour into the outer third of the socket and onto the lid, aiming for a semi-opaque effect. Inside the eye used the new CHANEL Intense Eye pencil in Clair (available in July 2010) to keep the eye open. Once I cleaned up under the eye to avoid muddiness, I applied concealer and then used a tiny amount of the matte black shadow on a small brush and blended away to almost nothing to create a pale grey soft line. Her mascara was CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir with a few shreds of strip lash. Cheeks were CHANEL Powder Blush in Pink Explosion (available in July 2010) and finally, lips were kept light and neutral with CHANEL Rouge Allure Lip Colour in Insouciante.”

Gemma Arterton in CHANEL Beauté. CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee worked with Gemma Arterton at the Los Angeles premiere of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time on Monday, May 17th, 2010.

How to get Gemma’s glamorous, fresh makeup look by CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee:

“I prepped Gemma’s skin with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum. On her eyes, I used a beautiful violet grey shadow from a new palette launching in July – CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Enigma.

I lined the inside of Gemma’s eyes with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair, also launching in July. This beige shade is a nice alternative to white – it gives a more modern effect and is not quite as harsh, making the eyes appear wider. Finally, I applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir. I used a generous amount of CHANEL Hydramax + Active Lip Care on her mouth, and added just a bit of CHANEL Rouge Allure Laque in Dynastie for a touch of colour. To complete the look, I applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Fandango on the apples of her cheeks.”

Lily Collins was wearing CHANEL Beauté at the 2010 Costume Institute Gala, Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, NY. Makeup Artist Jeannia Robinette created Lily’s makeup look for CHANEL. Beauty Inspiration: “My inspiration for Lily’s look was her extremely expressive eyes! She is so young and fresh but at the same time so sophisticated. She reminded me of a brilliant film noir actress.”

Beauty Tip: Makeup Tutorial

Jeannia prepped Lily’s skin with CHANEL Sublimage Fluid. She wanted to keep the skin dewy and fresh, so as a base she used CHANEL Hydramax + Active Tinted Moisturizer in Sand. On her lids, she blended the deep brown and silver powder shades from the CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Mystic Eyes.

The combination of the two shades brought out her eye colour. She then lined the top and bottom lashes with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir, and gave her lashes three coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir. Her naturally bold and gorgeous brows were simply brushed up. On her cheeks, Jeannia applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Imprevu, and finally she gave her a beige, matte lip with CHANEL Rouge Coco in Beige Felin.

Naomi Watts was wearing CHANEL Beauté at the 2010 Costume Institute Gala, Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, NY. Makeup Artist Fulvia Farolfi created Naomi’s makeup look for CHANEL. Beauty Inspiration: “Naomi wore a stunning magenta silk one shoulder gown, with a pleated big bow on the one shoulder. For the make up we felt like a light eye and bright lip would complement the look. With her fair complexion, blue eyes and blonde hair, it is my favorite look on her. We did not want to make it look retro.”

Beauty Tip: Makeup Tutorial

Fulvia prepped Naomi’s skin with CHANEL Ultra Correction Line Repair Day Cream. The base was CHANEL Pro Lumiere Professional Finish Makeup in Nude, and CHANEL Eclat Lumiere Highlighter Face Pen in Beige Tendre.

She applied CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Ivory all over the lid, and lined the eyes very close to the top lashes with CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Ebene. Finally, Fulvia applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir, to make the eyes pop. She applied CHANEL Blush Duo Tweed Effect in Tweed Pink to the apples of her cheeks, and gave her a bold, red lip with CHANEL Rouge Coco in Cambon.
