Heidi Klum rocked the red carpet in Christian Siriano at the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 18th. Klum, who is nominated for an Emmy for her hit show Project Runway, chose to wear Siriano tonight to further celebrate the success of the show.

“Christian is an amazing talent,” said Klum. “He always knows how to bring out the femininity in a woman and created this beautiful dress for me. I’m very proud to support Christian who won our 4th season. I know he will be designing for a long time!”

“I dressed Heidi for the Emmy’s when she hosted them a couple years back, and this time we wanted to go in a completely different direction,” said Siriano. “The dress she’s wearing tonight is a translation of a piece from my Fall 2011 collection. We originally did it similarly in black, but for the Emmy’s this year we wanted to do a version in this nude color that better suited Heidi and the event. The bodice has vintage lace layered underneath tulle which continues down to meet ruffled organza. It looks more delicate than the black version from the runway.

The season four winner who designed Klum’s dress specially for tonight attributes much of his success to the Project Runway host.

“Without Heidi Klum I wouldn’t be in the position I am today, and I’m so happy to be able to show how much I respect her in my own way – with some beautiful pieces made just for her,” said Siriano.

“She’s one of the most beautiful women in the world and an icon in her field, and for her to wear my designs to the Emmy’s in celebration of her equally impressive career in television just makes my day. She attended my Spring 2012 runway show last week as well and while she was here in New York we did fittings at my studio to get the dress just right. It means a lot to me to still have her support all these years later.”

HAIR STEP BY STEP BY ANTOINETTE BEENDERS FOR AVEDA:

1. Apply Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair to damp hair to repair and protect from heat styling. Blow dry straight with a Mason Pearson brush.

2. Use a fine-tooth comb to create a center part, dividing the hair into two sides. Loosely braid each side and secure at the ends with elastics. Spray with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray for light hold.

3. Starting at the top of each braid, apply a few seconds of gentle pressure with a flat iron. Section by section, move slowly down so that the entirety of each braid has been pressed.

4. Gently pinch the sides of each braid between the thumb and forefinger and tug gently to loosen.

5. Remove the elastics and use fingers to loosen the curl. To create a soft wave, brush lightly with a Mason Pearson brush and set the look with Aveda Control Force Firm Hold Hair Spray.

“This look is very easy to recreate and works for anyone with a little length to their hair. To protect hair from heat damage, use a small amount of Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair on damp hair and blow dry straight. Then make two braids, one on each side of the head, and spray with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray for light hold. Use a flat iron to gently set each braid, pressing small sections from top to bottom. Aveda lead stylist Antoinette Beenders created a textured bun using Aveda Control Force Firm Hold Hair Spray at the Christian Siriano Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Week show in New York.

The Hairstyle & Inspiration: “The Christian Siriano hair look for this season is all about different cultures mixing and blending together. HOW TO GET THE LOOK:

1. Brush hair with a Mason Pearson brush. Pull the top section of hair — from the hairline to the crown — and clip it out of the way.

2. Comb the remaining hair back into a tight, high ponytail and secure with a bungee elastic. Spray with Aveda Control Force Firm Hold Hair Spray for hold.

3. Spray Aveda Brilliant Spray-On Shine directly onto the bristles of a kabuki-style Aveda Uruku Bronzing Brush. “Paint” the sides of hair with the Uruku Bronzing Brush for shine.

4. Take the ponytail and braid it. Then twist the braid into a bun, securing to the head with bobby pins. Spray with Aveda Control Force Firm Hold Hair Spray for ultra-strong hold.

5. Remove the clip from the remaining top section of hair and comb to the crown. Working with small portions of hair (approximately one inch) at a time, use a micro-crimping iron to add texture from the crown to ends.

“This look is surprisingly easy to recreate. Pin the top section of hair up with a large clip so sides and back are free. Take the clipped section of hair on top and crimp the ends, in small sections, with a micro-crimping iron. Pull crimped hair over the bun and secure at the base with hair pins. “My collection this season is elegant and opulent, and the clothing has African, Indian, and Asian influences. My muse for Spring/Summer 2011 is a sophisticated yet vibrant woman. We are showcasing a breadth of silhouettes: flowing, wide-legged trousers, safari shorts and jackets, kimono sleeves, structured cocktail dresses, and light, fluttering evening gowns. Our prints were inspired by digital photographs of both Chinese temples and Indian beading. The patterns captivate the eye and compliment the deep red, khaki, and saturated paprika tones of the clothes. “I try to preserve the Earth’s natural resources and my carbon footprint in any way I can. “It was such a wonderful experience working with Melania to create this gown for her. She is the epitome of what a fabulous woman should represent with style and class. Melania wanted this dress to be about drama and glamour so that is what we did. The gown is made of Royal blue satin-faced organza and the color I recently used in my Fall 2010 collection. The draped bodice is fitted to the hip and the skirt of the dress is full with tucks and gathers creating a cascading wave – like movement. “This look can be adapted for a very chic and glamorous evening. Prep hair by blow drying smooth and curling hair in one-inch pieces. Brush curls through, spraying with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray for light, workable hold. Pull hair back tightly and wind it into a twist, pinning it against the head with bobby pins. Finish the look by backcombing the front section of hair, brushing it through and twisting it back. HOW TO GET THE LOOK: Hair Tutorial

1. Prep hair with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray for light, workable hold.

2. Working from bottom to top, curl hair in one-inch pieces with a medium barrel curling iron. Loop each curled piece around your finger and pin against the head to set the curl. Allow curls to cool, and then remove clips. Gently brush hair out.

3. Separate a top section of hair—from the hairline to the crown—and pin it away to separate. Backcomb the remainder of hair and spray with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray to create ultra-volume. Brush backcombed hair through.

4. Gather the left side of hair and pull tightly to the back of the head. Pin in place vertically, up the center line of the head, with bobby pins. Smooth hair against the head with fingers and spray with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray to minimize flyaways.

5. Gather the right side of hair and pull tightly to the back of the head. Wrap hair inwards around your fingers to create a tornado-like twist. Pin in place and spray with Aveda Control Force Hair Spray for ultra-strong hold.

6. Remove pins from the remaining front section of hair and backcomb to create volume. Spray with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray. Comb hair away from the face and pin to the top of the twist, creating wave-like volume at the crown of the head. Set the look with Aveda Control Force Hair Spray.
