Burlesque Synopsis

Ali (Christina Aguilera) is a small-town girl with a big voice who escapes hardship and an uncertain future to follow her dreams to LA. After stumbling upon The Burlesque Lounge, a majestic but ailing theater that is home to an inspired musical revue, Ali lands a job as a cocktail waitress from Tess (Cher), the club’s proprietor and headliner. Burlesque’s outrageous costumes and bold choreography enrapture the young ingénue, who vows to perform there one day.

Soon enough, Ali builds a friendship with a featured dancer (Julianne Hough), finds an enemy in a troubled, jealous performer (Kristen Bell), and garners the affection of Jack (Cam Gigandet), a bartender and fellow musician. With the help of a sharp-witted stage manager (Stanley Tucci) and gender-bending host (Alan Cumming), Ali makes her way from the bar to the stage and her spectacular voice restores The Burlesque Lounge to its former glory.

Christina Aguilera took to the stage at the MTV Movie Awards 2010 tonight in her signature full-on-glam fashion. Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle, who did Christina’s makeup for her red carpet appearance earlier tonight, upped the beauty ante by loading on the shimmer and shine. Kristopher gave us the scoop on the products that he reached for for Christina’s much-anticipated performance.

For Christina’s eyes, Kristopher defined the crease and around the lash line with Armani Maestro Eye Shadow in #38, a charcoal shade. The intense silver shine topping Christina’s lids was Ombre Magnétique in Urban Silver, a brand new gel-like shimmer shadow coming from Lancôme this fall (2010). Lancôme’s Artliner in Noir and mega coats of Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Excessive Black finished the dramatic eye look.

Christina’s lips—already a gorgeous red, thanks to Lancôme’s Color Design Matte in Red Haute—got a dramatic coat of shine with Color Fever Gloss in Mercury Rising, a sumptuous red shade.

Christina Aguilera fans, rejoice! The mega-talented singer is back and looking better than ever. Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle did the makeup honors for Christina’s highly-anticipated appearance at tonight’s MTV Movie Awards 2010 in Los Angeles. Kristofer shared the scoop on Christina’s red carpet look with Talking Makeup. Dress by SS10 Atelier Versace.

The mission, says Kristofer, was to give Christina “perfect ivory skin and strong bone structure” to highlight her bold and classic red lip. To start, Kristofer prepped the skin with Lancôme’s new Teint Idole Fresh Wear Foundation in Bisque and Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer in Ivoire (a makeup artist favorite). For the eyes, Kristofer swept YSL Ombre Solo Smoothing Effect Eyeshadow in #2 Cashmere Brown along the crease. Three coats of Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Excessive Black topped the upper lashes and one light coat coated the lower lashes.

For Christina’s glam red pout, Kristofer first lined with Lancôme’s Le Lipstique Lipcolouring Stick in Rougelle, a sheer red liner. Color Design Matte Lipstick in Red Haute delivered the rich dose of red—perfect for the iconic pop star.

Below is Kristofer’s step-by-step makeup tutorial on how to to recreate Christina’s makeup look:

Complexion
· Use the Balancing Moisture Lotion and apply the Makeup Primer as a base
· Apply Firming Foundation and set with Pressed Powder

Eyes
· Apply the vanilla side of India Song Duo Eyeshadow as a base, over the entire lid and up to eyebrow

· Next, use the shimmering walnut shade of India Song Duo Eyeshadow and apply to the outer corner and under the bottom lash line

· Then, use the warm rich brown side of Cordura Duo Eyeshadow just under eye rubbing into the lower lash line to create smokey eye

· Curl the eyelashes and apply a coat of Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara to top and bottom lashes, following with 2 coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara for full lashes

· Take Nuits Blanches Eyeliner Stylo and dot in between individual lashes [Kristofer’s tip:“I used the Push Eyeliner Brush to blend the eyeliner in between the lashes, which helped to apply just enough without looking to heavy.”]

Lips
· Use the Fantasia Lipliner Pencil and Niagara Lipstick
· Next, apply Easy Lover Lip Gloss (NEW for Spring 2010) over [Kristofer’s tip:“Applying a sheer pink gloss on top of a nude colored lip provides a nice modern pop of color.”]

Cheeks
· Generously apply Orgasm Illuminator (NEW for Spring 2010) to cheekbones, décolletage, and shoulders for an all over glow

· Use Malaysia Multiple Bronzer to contour cheeks by blending under cheekbones

· Apply the Mata Hari Blush to the apple of cheeks and lightly tap on browbone [Kristoper’s tip: “Lightly dusting a blush on the browbone gives life to the eye and melds the whole look together.”]

· Next, with short, back and forth quick strokes use Nico Blush to highlight cheekbones
