Acclaimed fashion designer Thuy Diep selected MAKE UP FOR EVER to perfect her models’ faces at the Thuy Fall 2010 Fashion Show at the Salon in Bryant Park during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

MAKE UP FOR EVER ALLIANCE team member, Lottie www.makeupforever-alliance.com , served as key make up artist for the show, where she created a cool, fresh look to complement the vibrant jewel tones of the collection.

Complexion & Cheeks: Lottie first applied HD Invisible Cover Foundation to perfect the models’ complexion. Next, she created a contour on the cheeks using Mat Bronze #2, and then applied more bronzer high on the apple of the cheeks. The look was set with Super Matte Loose Powder #12 on the t-zone.

Eyes: To create a sheer, shimmery gold wash on the eyes, Star Powder #920 was applied to the entire eye area starting at the lid and extending beyond the brow and temple. Pan Cake Foundation #3 was then applied to the temples to illuminate the skin. The eyes were finished with Smoky Lash Mascara on both the top and bottom lashes.

Lips: Lottie mixed Flash Color #1 with a hint of Flash Color #17 to get a matte, blood red stained mouth. She applied the Flash Color with her finger tips to blot it onto the mouth

GET THE LOOK: Funny lady and Golden Globes nominee Tina Fey was made up by celebrity makeup artist Ana Marie last night at the 67th Golden Globe Awards using Lancôme products. Here’s the scoop on Tina Fey’s makeup at the awards straight from Ana Marie. The inspiration, says Ana Marie, was Old Hollywood/1950′s with a twist.

The makeup tutorial on how to get Tina Fey’s makeup look by celebrity makeup artist Ana Marie for Lancôme:

Tina’s skin was prepped with Lancôme Secret de Vie Toner (Ana Marie’s favorite!) and moisturized with Bienfait Multi Vital, a combination that keeps the skin looking vibrant all day. Lancôme Absolue Foundation in Pearl evened out Tina’s complexion. Ana Marie applied it with a foundation brush and blended with a damp sponge to make the foundation more transparent.

To create a sun-kissed look, Ana Marie layered a cream blush (Lancôme Color Design Creme Blush in Petticoat Pink) with a powder blush (YSL Blush Variation in #18 Coral Sand). Layering the different textures allows for long-lasting color.

For the eyes, Ana Marie lined the top and bottom lash line with Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Coffee and curled the lashes using a Shu Uemura eye lash curler. Lancôme Défincils Waterproof Mascara in Black was applied to create separated, dark lashes.

Lips were lined and defined with Le Lipstique in Sheer Natural and filled in with Lancôme Color Fever Shine Lipstick in Tempt Me. For a fresh, glossy finish, Ana Marie used Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Cherry Burst.

All Lancôme products are available at lancome-usa.com

GET THE LOOK: Award Winner Julianna Margulies Wears NARS Makeup at the 2010 Golden Globes!

The Look: “Julianna has such beautiful skin and a gorgeous beaming smile, that I wanted to keep the colors subdued and let her natural skintone shine through,” said Kristofer Buckle for NARS Cosmetics. “I didn’t want to use too much color because it might have taken away from her. I wanted it to be all about Julianna so I focused on highlighting her skin by encouraging shine and glow.”

Below is Kristofer’s makeup tutorial to recreate Julianna’s look:

Complexion:

· Using fingers apply Orgasm Illuminator (NEW for Spring 2010) down the center of the nose, across cheekbones, and on the apples of the cheeks
· Apply Firming Foundation all over face, mixing in with the Orgasm Illuminator
· Re-apply Orgasm Illuminator over the entire complexion to encourage shine [Kristofer’s tip: “I used the Flat Concealer Brush to apply the Orgasm Illuminator on top of the foundation creating high gleam.”]

Eyes:

· Apply both sides of Cordura Duo Eyeshadow into the crease and all over the eyelid
· Dab the sooty dark brown side of Cordura Duo Eyeshadow on the outer part of the eye [Kristofer’s tip: “I love the shimmering iridescent in this eyeshadow. A metallic iridescence softens the smokiness of an eye allowing it to look like it is part of the skin rather than looking gothic.”
· Next, use the sable shade from Brousse Duo Eyeshadow and lightly dust under lower lash line
· Then, lightly tap Orgasm Illuminator (NEW for Spring 2010) on the inside corner of the eye
· Curl the eyelashes and apply Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara

Lips:

· Apply Cruising Lipstick (NEW Spring 2010)
· Next, layer Ophelia Lip Gloss (NEW Spring 2010) over the lipstick [Kristofer’s tip: “I love this soft pink, it adds just the right amount of color.”]

Cheeks:

· Dust Super Orgasm Blush onto the apples of cheeks

Body:

· Blend Orgasm Illuminator (NEW for Spring 2010) all over neck and décolletage

Orgasm Illuminator will be available at Sephora on February 1 and all other NARS Cosmetics are available at www.narscosmetics.com

GET THE LOOK: Lancôme’s new ambassadress Julia Roberts looked gorgeous on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. Celebrity makeup artist Genevieve created Julia’s look and Talking Makeup got the inside scoop.

First, Genevieve applied Lancôme Bienfait Multi Vital Teinté to Julia’s flawless complexion. Just a hint of color was applied to the cheeks with Lancôme Color Design Cream Blush in Petticoat Pink. Genevieve used her finger to apply and pressed the color on to Julia’s cheeks. To create a dramatic eye, Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony was used. Several coats of Lancôme Définicils Pro Mascara in Black created lush, dark lashes. Genevieve opted for a soft natural-looking pout. She applied Lancôme Le Lipstique lip liner in Natural Mauve then coated the lips with Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Coquette and topped with Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Hallucination for a high-shine finish.

Lancôme and Lollipop Theater Network celebrated the launch of La Collection Lollipop last week at Bellacures in Beverly Hills. Jordana Brewster and Jennie Garth hosted the festive soiree, where guests were treated to champagne, cupcakes and manicures using the nail polishes from the collection.

From left: Jennie Garth, Darais, and Jordana Brewster

Lancôme’s La Collection Lollipop is a colorful trio of limited-edition gloss and nail polish sets created to help raise funds and awareness for Lollipop Theater Network, a nonprofit organization that brings movies currently in theaters to children and teenagers hospitalized due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses. The Lollipop team also worked with children in the program to create the whimsical illustrations that decorate each set.

Jordana Brewster

Lancôme makeup artist Darais created Jordana’s clean, polished makeup for the party, with a focus on subtly smoky eyes. First, Darais lined the with Lancôme’s Le Crayon Khôl Eye Liner in Black Coffee, which he smudged upwards. Several Color Design Eye Shadows in a variety of sultry shades defined the eyes: Mannequin all over the lid, Waif on the crease, Impress on the lower lash line and Filigree on the brow bone as a highlighter. Ôscillation Powerbooster topped with Définicils Mascara resulted in “amazing lashes,” said Darais. “It’s my favorite duo!”

Darais swept Lancôme’s Star Bronzer Poudre Sôleil in Bronze Solaire over Jordana’s immaculate complexion and accented with Blush Subtil in Miel Glacé. And Jordana’s lips? Lollipop’s Color Fever Gloss in Bon Bon Strawberry, of course!

Lana Horochowski, Department Head of Makeup for Mad Men, loves using NARS on the cast-members of Mad Men. “I love, love, LOVE the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils because they are long-lasting and give that perfect matte finish that is so authentic to the time period,” says Lana. “In the past, we used mostly cream cheek color because that was used in the period. Since powder blush was invented in 1963, we were finally able to throw it in for this season!”

Below are details on what Lana has used to create the looks for January Jones’ Betty Draper and Christina Hendricks’ Joan Harris.

Betty Draper, January Jones:

“January’s character Betty wears NARS Madrague Duo Eyeshadow in almost every scene when she is at home. “It’s a staple,” explains Lana, “but when she goes out, we spice it up with color.” To add emphasis to her eyes, Lana adds NARS Heart Of Glass Eyeshadow. For her lips, she uses NARS Calliope Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and NARS Belle de Jour Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. “I also love Barbarella Lipstick on January because it’s perfect for her every day look.” For blush, try NARS Penny Lane Cream Blush, NARS Gueule de Nuit Cream Blush, and NARS Gilda Powder Blush!

Joan Holloway, Christina Hendricks:

“For Christina’s sexy Joan I love the bold colors of NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in Dolce Vita, Red Square, Sex Machine, and Forbidden Red.” Lana also uses NARS Heat Wave Lipstick and NARS Jungle Red Lipstick! For her eyes, she uses NARS Madrague Duo Eyeshadow and NARS Fez and Bali Single Eyeshadows. “With Christina’s peaches and cream complexion” Lana explains, “she looks great in NARS Gueule de Nuit Cream Blush, as well as NARS Dolce Vita, Gilda, and Gina Powder Blush.”

mark Spokeswoman, Lauren Conrad looked both beautiful and sophisticated in a retro, 1940’s look at the Avon Hope Honors Gala. Lauren attended the star-studded benefit on behalf of m.powerment by mark, the philanthropic initiative dedicated to breaking the cycle of dating abuse and partner violence. Celebrity Makeup Artist Amy Nadine gave her secrets for creating the glammed up look, reminiscent of Lana Turner and Rita Hayworth.

How to Get Lauren’s Retro Look:

Face: “For a perfectly polished complexion, I evened out Lauren’s skin tone with mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation in Natural, for a super-velvety finish. To emphasize the delicate contours of her face, I applied mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder starting in the hollow of her cheeks, then directly under her cheekbones, up to her temples, across her hairline and under her jaw line. I then swirled mark Good Glowing Custom Pick Powder Blush in Star Glo on the apples of her cheeks for a subtle rosy glow.”

Eyes: “Lauren loves her signature winged out liquid liner look which I amped up tonight by drawing mark Get In Line Hook Up Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner in Painted Black a little thicker in the outer corners of her eyes. I then coated her lashes in mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven for thickness and length and added individual lashes to complete the look.”

Lips: “I gave Lauren a classic old-Hollywood red pout with mark Dew Drenched Moisturlicious Lip Color in Wave, a true Hollywood red that is warm enough to look gorgeous on everyone. To properly set the color to last all evening, I dipped a cotton swab in mark Matte-nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder in Natural Buff and carefully traced the outer rims of the lips. For that final touch of extra impact and depth, I added a dab of mark Belle of the Ball Lip Balm in Sheer Red in the center of the lips with my finger.”

m.powerment by mark: Not only is October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but it’s also a time dedicated to raising awareness for a shockingly prevalent issue facing women of all ages: domestic violence. Unfortunately, statistics show that the highest rates of partner violence are experienced by women between the ages of 16 and 24. That’s a fact we can’t ignore.

The m.powerment by mark campaign is providing young women with the opportunity to change this statistic. mark teamed up with Lauren Conrad, honorary co-chair of this philanthropic initiative, and her favorite Celebrity Makeup Artist, Amy Nadine, to launch two new shades of mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss in support of the initiative. 100% of the net proceeds from purchasing either Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss m.powerment Peach or m.powerment Gold will be donated to m.powerment by mark. The glosses retail for $5.50 and are available on www.meetmark.com or through a mark rep.

This week, Giorgio Armani Beauty unveils the secret to achieving the perfect complexion with the debut of the “Armani A-List Essentials”.

Giorgio Armani Beauty Celebrity Makeup Artist Tim Quinn has hand selected his favorite pieces from the collection that are essential to his highly coveted makeup kit. “There are a few products that I use on all of my celebrity clients – from Sophia Bush to January Jones – in order to achieve that flawless complexion. I always start with the Fluid Master Primer to create a smooth surface and follow with a foundation that is appropriate for both my client’s skin tone and complexion. I finish by applying Fluid Sheer liquid highlighter along the outer edge of the eye and along the tops of the cheek bones to create that perfect luminous glow. The one tool that I use with all three products and absolutely cannot live without is our Blender Brush – it’s my secret weapon!”

The Armani A-List Essentials will be making its debut in NYC at the Giorgio Armani Beauty Counter at Bloomingdales 59th Street on Wednesday, October 7th, through Thursday, October 8th. During this exclusive period, clients will receive a special offer: with the purchase of a foundation, Fluid Master Primer and Fluid Sheer customers will receive a free Blender Brush (Tim’s beauty must-have!) while supplies last. Now customers can get red-carpet ready with their own makeup bag – and a few secret weapons!

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Makeup Trend Report.

Show: Chris Benz Spring 2010 Collection
Lead Makeup Artist: Daniel Martin for Lancôme
The Trend: Coral-colored pout.

The Look: Refined 60′s party girl. Healthy skin and stand-out lips: Chris’ spring collection is full of whimsical fabrics, colorful ornamentation and texture pieces. For the makeup Chris asked Daniel to create a sun-kissed fresh look. He wanted healthy skin and prominent lip.

Daniel gave the models a natural glow by applying GÉNIFIQUE Youth Activating Concentrate to clean skin followed by GÉNIFIQUE Eye (Available 10/15/09) to brighten and open up the eye area. The complexion was perfectly even and polished. Shu Uemura Nobara Foundation was applied to even out the skin tone and Lancôme AGELESS MINÉRALE WITH WHITE SAPPHIRE COMPLEX (A perfecting and setting mineral powder) was dusted over the entire face. POP ‘N CHEEKS in Coral Flirt (Available Spring 2010) was used as a highlighter and lightly applied to the cheekbones near the temple for just a hint of color.

To define the eyes, Daniel smudged LE CRAYON KHÔL in Black Coffee on the upper and lower lash lash lines. Several coats of HYPNÔSE Mascara in Black were applied for thick, black lashes.

Lips were bright and creamy. Daniel used L’ABSOLU ROUGE in Chris & Tell (Available Spring 2010 at Saks Fifth Avenue) for a vivid, coral-colored pout. Chris & Tell is the fifth lipstick in the POUT-A-PORTER designer lipstick series. In the meantime, the waiting list is open at Lancôme’s Upper West Side Boutique. simply call 212-362-4858 to be added to the waiting list.

I took this image backstage at Chris Benz Spring 2010 the NEW L’ABSOLU ROUGE in Chris & Tell. I was holding this small sample like it was gold, lol! L’ABSOLU ROUGE in Chris & Tell was my favorite makeup trend during NY Fashion Week. I’m absolutely addicted to this lipstick. It is THE perfect pink coral lipstick and looks great on any complexion. For some reason the pink coral shade brightens my face instantly, especially when I’m tired. Girls, you will LOVE it!

To complement the bright colors in the collection, the models donned pretty pink polishes on their nails and toes. LE VERNIS in Bon Bon Strawberry was worn on the nails and Mademoiselle Grape on the toes. Both nail polishes are from LA COLLECTION LOLLIPOP (coming this November), part of a charity collection coming up in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!!
