At the Dolce&Gabbana Spring/Summer 2011 Ready to Wear show in Milan, Dolce&Gabbana evoked the relaxed elegance of Sicilian sensuality. The collection’s easy glamour was also evident in the palette used on models’ eyes and lips, each taken from Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up.

Pat McGrath on ‘THE LIP JEWELS’: “The mouth is such a focal point; Stefano, Domenico and I have always believed that drop dead glamour and innermost sensuality comes from an emphasis on the lips,” says Pat McGrath.

“So we really worked hard to come up with the shades that were not just our favorites but every woman’s favorites. The three reds we chose are very luscious, shades I’ve worked with time and again on the runway. I’ve played with them a lot-I’ve mixed them together, used them solo-and have come up with very rich passionate looks. And Nude is so perfect for contrast or a really simple natural look… they’re all just gorgeous… overall stunning.”

Scarlett Johansson’s Makeup: On Sunday June 7th, 2010, at the MTV movie awards actress Scarlett Johansson, donned in a Dolce&Gabbana dress, debuted a sexy beauty look on the red carpet courtesy of Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up. Celebrity makeup artist Matthew Vanleeuwen shares with us the steps to get Scarlett’s makeup look.

To create the look, make up artist Matthew Vanleeuwen prepped skin with The Perfect Finish Foundation in Natural, and added a touch of The Bronzer in Desert for a radiant glow.

For smoky eyes, Vanleeuwen lined eyes with The Eyeliner in Stromboli and blended The Eyeshadow Duo in Stromboli and The Eyeshadow Duo Laguna from the new Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up Summer Midnight Bloom Collection.

To complete the look, Valeeuwen applied The Lipgloss in Innocence, a soft pale pink, from the Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up Spring Intimate Sensuality Collection.

At the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, music’s all-stars showcased several beauty looks on the red carpet.

Bright Pinks

The Golden Beams Collection – Holiday 2009

The Golden Beams Collection for Holiday 2009 captures the precious singularity of golden tones with a rare depth and an unexpected eroticism, celebrating three ultra femme variations on golden translucence, anchored by the drama and depth of surreal fantasy. Dolce & Gabbana use captivating contrasts to take beauty to a new level of decadence.

A trio of modern-minded golds – Yellow Gold, White Gold and Rose Gold – glaze, flicker and interact to reveal one sublime look that is at once sexy and glamorous.

The Inspiration: “This season our inspiration stemmed from the passionate Latin woman melded with our Sicilian upbringing,” said Domenico Dolce. Stefano Gabbana added, “The cultures are very similar and we wanted the beauty look to be reflective of this passion and sensuality.”

At the Dolce&Gabbana Spring/Summer 2010 Ready to Wear show in Milan, The Designer’s aptly named their show “Heritage,” which showcased their Sicilian roots and signature sartorial tailoring laced with a dose of tango. On the runway, each model donned a bold red lip created using Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up.

How to get the makeup look:

Backstage Pat McGrath prepped skin with the foundation, to create a flawlessly natural canvas. Next, McGrath sculpted cheeks using the blush, in Warm.

On eyes, McGrath blended a taupe shadow from the eyeshadow quad in Elegance along the crease and lower lids. Using a damp brush, McGrath then applied the white shimmer shadow from the eyeshadow duo in Rose along the upper lips close to lashes. To complete the eye look, multiple coats of the mascara, in Black were brushed through top lashes.

To create an alluring pout, McGrath noted that she wanted to create, “a rich, velvet, red shade.” To achieve a deep burgundy red, McGrath painted lips with a mix of the classic lipstick in Devil, Dahlia, and Ultra.

How to apply a bronzer: Leading make-up artist Pat McGrath’s tips for perfect application: A lighter shade of bronzer will create the most natural looking tan. It is also the most forgiving if application is anything less than expert. Build colour gradually, starting at the temples, chin, and cheeks and blending toward the centre of the face with a large powder brush. ‘Natural’ is the perfect shade for re-creating the subtle warmth seen at the Dolce&Gabbana shows.

The formula: Smooth powder delivers sun kissed warmth and a natural glow. The four shades are each layered with golden pearl for a subtle shimmer, adding a glistening radiance to the complexion.

Waiting List Grows for Dolce & Gabbana Lipstick Fashion Week’s Favorite Shade, Dahlia, Sells Out Before Debut at Saks Fifth Avenue.

The debut of Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up during Milan Fashion Week has piqued the interest of fashion and beauty lovers prior to its U.S. arrival, and with this anticipation the collection’s Classic Cream Lipstick in Dahlia has emerged as an instant favorite. The deep red shade premiered on Dolce&Gabbana’s Fall/Winter 2010 runway and now Dahlia has garnered a wait list at Saks Fifth Avenue nearly a month prior to the official on-counter date of April 24.

Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up will launch exclusively in the United States at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, and will reach Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills, and Saks.com by mid-May.
