In her very first photo-shoot and interview since giving birth to her daughter Esmeralda Amada with longtime love Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes sat down with her friend and VIOLET GREY founder, Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey, for VIOLET GREY’s digital publication The Violet Files. The usually private actress opens up, discussing everything from the parenting values she shares with Ryan, to her excitement about her expanding her New York & Company collection to the comfort she gets from the chatter in online mom forums. TM & Marta Walsh have the sneak peek!
Stunning on location in the powder room at Mann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA, the story has just gone live at VIOLETGREY.com.
EVA’S FIRST TAKE ON MOTHERHOOD, AS TOLD TO VIOLET GREY:
On what her nights look like now:
“I thought my wild nights were over but these are some of the wildest nights I’ve ever had.”
On motherhood and life with Esmeralda:
“Everything is a struggle for her. For instance, I haven’t thrown up since the ’90s and she’s thrown up twice since we started this interview. Motherhood is cake compared to what it’s like to be a baby.”
Last night Eva Mendes became the new face of Angel by Thierry Mugler, which happens to be Marta Walsh’s signature perfume:) A glittering party was held to toast this glamorous new face. TM has the scoop on how to get Eva Mendes’ Angel makeup look. Makeup Artist Genevieve Herr primed Eva’s skin with Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and Multi-Active Day Cream.

John Dahlstrom started by prepping the hair with Fekkai Full Blown Volume Styling Whip, applying just at the root of the hair.
My favorite beauty Eva Mendes is featured in W Magazine July 2010. Mendes was photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and styled by Alex White. She’s best known for her screen-idol face and siren curves, but with a new Will Ferrell film, Eva Mendes is showing off her funny bone. Read the full profile HERE.
On Friday April 9, 2010, MCM Worldwide (a luxury Brand dedicated to luxury leather goods) and Flaunt Magazine celebrated the official launch of their collaboration with an exclusive dinner reception catered by Magnolia, held at Founder and Publisher Luis Barajas’ exquisite residence in the Hollywood Hills. Hearing Elle Russia takes me back to the place I was born, the Former Soviet Russian Republic Georgia. I sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if my parents never left Russia. Maybe my name would be something like Marta Shalvovna and not Marta Walsh LOL (which really happens to be my Russian middle name). Enough about me, let’s talk Eva Mendes. Eva is one of my favorite Hollywood beauties. She reminds me of Raquel Welch another natural and classic beauty. The question is: Do YOU love?

I absolutely love Eve Mendes outfit at the premiere of Sherlock Holmes at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on December 17, 2009 in New York City. It’s refreshing to see a white lacy dress underneath her boyfriend’s jacket. I’m totally inspired! More white goes into my closet because at the moment I’m the black queen. I also love the updo. And if you agree with me, I have tips on how to get Eva’s hairdo thanks to Thomas Dunkin from the Sebastian Professional Stylist Design Team.
Thomas shares his styling tips for recreating Eva’s red carpet look at home:
1) Start by dampening the hair and pulling through a small amount of Sebastian Professional Potion 9 Lite. Take a 4″ section of hair at the crown and saturate it with Thickefy Foam before blow-drying. Then put in approx. six medium-sized velcro rollers.
This is a photo of the fabulous Hollywood starlet, Eva Mendes, taken today at The Spirit’s film launch party held at the Old Sorting Office in London, England.
Eva Mendes is sporting a longish bob or up to shoulders bob, which looks like the new hot hairstyle in Hollywood. Eva Mendes traded her blond highlights to a rich chocolate hair color. The hair is not blown super straight, it has volume and bounce to it.
Let talk about Eva Mendes and her makeup look here: eyes are lined with a blue eye liner top and bottom. Eye lashes are not overly accented. Peachy cheeks, and peachy coral pink lips.
Calvin Klein will launch Secret Obsession, a new fragrance for women fronted by Eva Mendes, this coming September.
Calvin Klein Secret Obsession Perfume isn’t launching till fall, but Secret Obsession is available now at Macy’s.com. This is the only place you can get the fragrance before it’s on-counter.
The Secret Obsession fragrance is a floriental with no relationship to the original Calvin Klein Obsession scent other than the name and the steamy advertising (the television spot has apparently been nixed by network censors).
Watch Eva Mendes in Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession video here:
According to a Coty representative: Obsession put Calvin Klein on the map in 1985 and continues to be an integral piece of the brand portfolio…While Obsession epitomized the overt glamour and sexuality of the Eighties, Secret Obsession will become the meaning of what is sexy today – more personal, sophisticated and intoxicating. Eva Mendes is a reflection of how things have changed over the past 20 years.”
Secret Obsession’s notes include exotic plum, mace, rose de damas, jasmine, orange flower, tuberose, cashmere woods, burnt amber, vanilla and sandalwood.
