Best foundation and best foundation brush. MAC Pro Longwear SPF 10 Foundation and Brush 187SE my new LOVE. The foundation itself has a great feel and finish and is super long wearing. I prefer this brush (187SE) on a regular flat foundation brush for applying liquid foundation.

What I do is I dispense few pumps of liquid foundation on the back of my hand then tap brush 187SE on to get liquid foundation on brush and then tap (not brush on) on my face. This way you are not caking your face with foundation. The effect is more like an airbrush effect. The brush bristles diffuse the foundation and allows for sheer yet buildable application. Also it cuts down foundation application to 30 seconds! I’m big on quick yet effective makeup. I’m a busy lady you know:)))

See MAC brush 197SE up-close…

Actress Jessica Szohr looked beautiful at the 2010 Breakthrough of the Year Awards where she won for “Breakthrough Actress in Film”. mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh shares with Talking Makeup and Marta Walsh how she created Jessica’s sultry red carpet makeup look.

How To Get Jessica Szohr’s Makeup At The Breakthrough of the Year Awards by mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh using mark Cosmetics:

Face

“For Jessica’s face, I first applied mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 all over her skin to create a nice base. Next, I followed by applying mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Golden using the mark Foundation Brush to create an even skin tone.

To cover any redness or under-eye circles, I dabbed on mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Medium/Deep, and set the look with mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation in Golden. I then used the mark Angled Contour Face Brush to dust mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Bronze to her cheeks, forehead and chin to warm up her face. To give her a slight flush, I added mark Good Glowing Custom Pick Powder Blush in Sun Love Glo to the apples of her cheeks.”

Eyes

“I really wanted to emphasize Jessica’s dark eyes so we created a heavy, smoky eye. I prepped her eyelids with the mark Please Hold Eye Primer in Medium/Dark followed with a dusting of mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Gioia and Corset using the mark All Over Eye Shadow Brush. Next, I blended the shadows upwards into the crease with the mark Angled Contour Eye Shadow Brush and then used the mark Hook Up Eye Shadow Brush to smudge mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Corset along her top and bottom lash line. I then rimmed her eyes with mark No Place to Run Eyeliner Pencil in Jet Set since I needed something super longwearing that wouldn’t smear once I applied. I finished off her eye look with two coats of mark Make It Big Mascara in Raven.”

Lips

“For her lips I used mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Malt. I love how creamy these new lipsticks are!”

How To Makeup Tutorial

Eyes

“To begin, I used the mark Concealer Brush to apply the bronze shade from mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow in Surreal to her lashline and blended upwards to the crease. Next, I applied a top coat of mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Gioia into the crease and smudged up to her brow bone. Next, I lined both her upper and bottom lashline with mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Java using the mark Flat Eyeliner Brush.
Face

“I prepped Lucy’s face by applying mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Golden with the mark Foundation Brush to even out her skin tone. Next, I dabbed mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Light/Medium under her eyes, blending it in with the mark Concealer Brush. For her cheeks, I used the mark Foundation Brush to apply mark Just Pinched Instant Blush in Peachy to the apples of her cheeks. I then dusted a light coating of mark Matte-nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder to eliminate any excess shine in her t-zone. I then swept a combination of mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Pro Golden and mark Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Shimmied Up with the mark Powder Brush to accentuate the contours of her face and add a gorgeous radiance.”

Lips

“I used mark Juice Jems Lip Gloss in Juicy Fig to give Lucy’s lips the perfect amount of color and shine, without looking overdone.”

Kristen Stewart made her mark yesterday, June 1st, 2010, at the Australian red carpet premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse at Luna Park in Sydney. mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh shared her top makeup tips for creating Kristen’s sultry look!

Kristen Stewart’s makeup look:

“I started by applying mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 to Kristen’s skin as a moisturizing base.

I followed by applying mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Nude with the mark Foundation Brush to even out her skintone. Next, I used mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Fair/Light around her nose and under her eyes to even out her complexion and mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation in Nude to set her face. To liven up her cheeks, I dusted mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush Custom Color Palette in Hush Baby using the mark Angled Contour Face Brush.”

Eyes

“To bring out Kristen’s eyes, I started by smudging mark I-mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Retro Peacock layered with Corset to the lids. I used the mark Hook Up Eye Shadow Brush to apply the color and then the mark Angled Contour Eye Shadow Brush to blend upwards towards the brows. I then lined the inner rim of her eyes with mark Eyemarker Color On Line in Enchanted Forest. I finished off her smokey eye by smudging mark I-mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Corset along the lower lashes followed by two coats of mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven.”

Lips

“I wanted Kristen to have a simple pink lip to balance her dramatic smokey eyes, so I used mark Dew Drenched Moisturlicious Lip Color in Pink Posey. The lipstick is super creamy and has lots of pigment to keep Kristen’s lips moisturized and looking gorgeous throughout the night.”

Celebrity makeup artist Gina Brooke gave Anne Hathaway her elegant, timeless look at last night’s Met Costume Institute Gala. Read on to get the details on what Gina used.

Makeup How To:

First, she shaped and defined Anne’s brows using Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre in Brunet. Then she applied Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony along the lash line and blended with a sponge tip to get rid of any hard edges.

Next, she swept Lancôme Color Design Eyeshadow in Latte on the base of the lid to the edge of the brow bone. Lancôme Color Design Eyeshadow in Backstage Pass and Lézard were blended across the lid. (Gina’s tip: Make sure there is no separation among colors and blend precisely.) She curled Anne’s lashes using a lash curler and then applied two coats of Lancôme Virtuôse Mascara in Black to both top and bottom lashes.

For Anne’s complexion, Gina moisturized the skin with Intraceuticals Opulence Hydration Cream to lock in moisture and even out the skin tone. Then, she prepped the skin with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer to create a satin finish and minimize shine. She dabbed Hourglass Hidden Concealer in Sand under the eyes as needed using Hourglass #5 Concealer Brush. To create a natural finish, Gina applied Hourglass Illusion Concealer Brush in Sand using Hourglass # 2 Foundation Brush. (Gina’s tip: apply the foundation in the direction of hair growth for a smooth, flawless application.) Gina added a touch of color to the cheeks using Lancôme Blush Subtil in Sheer Amourose and finished the look with Lancôme Color Design Matte Lipstick in Pink Preview.

“I wanted Gabourey to look pretty powerful, but still like herself, so I gave her glowing skin and modern, sexy eyes. She doesn’t need a lot of makeup, so we added some sparkle shadow, lashes and color to her lips and cheeks, and she was perfect. I love this look because she has a natural glow and looks like the prettiest version of herself.”-Bobbi Brown.

Just In: Rose Byrne’s Golden Globes look for Lancôme by celebrity makeup artist Ana Marie. Talking Makeup got the inside scoop on how to get Rose Byrne’s Hollywood Glam makeup look at the Golden Globes Awards tonight.

Ana Marie prepped the skin with Secret de Vie Toner (her favorite!) and then applied Lancôme Bienfait Multi Vital moisturizer to keep skin hydrated and fresh. Lancôme Absolue Foundation in Ecru was applied with a foundation brush and blended with a makeup sponge. This helps the foundation go on evenly and keep the skin looking radiant. To create a sultry smokey eye, Ana Marie used Lancôme Eyeshadow Quad in Innocence Couture.

The Positive shade was swept all over the eyelid and Fashion Scoop and Backstage Pass were blended just to the lash line and smudged. Next, Lancôme Artliner in Noir was used to create a cat line for extra drama. Lancôme Définicils Waterproof Mascara in Black coated the top and bottom lashes. Lancôme Color Design Cream Blush in Petticoat Pink was dabbed on the apples of the cheek and then topped with a powder blush, Lancôme Blush Subtil in Cedar Rose. This technique helps keep the cheek color fresh all day, even with the rain! Shu Uemura Loose Powder in Translucent was dusted on the T-zone to create a matte complexion. Finally, Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Simmer gave Rose her ultra-glossy pout.

Ginnifer Goodwin, star in the HBO series “Big Love” has made her mark in Hollywood on the red carpet at last nights 2009 Emmy Awards! mark celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh explains how she created Ginnifer’s gorgeous red carpet look.

How to Get Ginnifer’s Red Carpet look:

Face: “Ginnifer wore a beautiful, Fuschia strapless dress, so we wanted to keep her look more neutral, but focused on her eyes. To get her look, I started by applying mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Buff with a foundation brush. I then applied mark Get Bright Hook Up Highlighter in Light above her cheekbones and mark Good Riddance Hook Up Highlighter in Fair/Light under her eyes. Once the foundation and creams were applied, I set everything by dusting mark Matte-Nificent in Buff/Natural with a powder brush. And finally, to give her a warm glow, I swept mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Hush Baby on her cheeks using the blush/bronzer brush.”

Eyes: “For her eyes, I started by applying mark Winkstick Hook Up Eyeshadow Stick in Glitzy to her entire eyelid. Next, I layered mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Tiki from her lash line to the crease using an eyeshadow brush. I then blended mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Espresso into the crease of her eyes using an angled contour eyeshadow brush and smudged Tiki along her bottom lash line using an eyeliner brush. I finished by applying two coats of mark Make it Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven.”

Lips: “I completed Ginnifer’s look by layering mark Dew Drenched Moisturlicous Lip Color in Skinny Dip and mark Pro Gloss Lip Plumping Lip Shine in Swell to her lips.”
