I absolutely love Gwen Stefani’s hair, makeup, and outfit (jumpsuit by Stella McCartney I hear) at the “Tree of Life” Lovers Cannes 2011. It’s a modern take off 70s glamour. I like how Gwen keeps it sleek and elegant yet rock chick/chic. Kinda what Marta Walsh likes. I had to share:)

Marta Walsh got the sneak peek to Karen T. Fondu, President of L’Oréal Paris, announcing Gwen Stefani as the brand’s latest spokesperson.

January 14, 2011. I am extremely pleased to share the news that Gwen Stefani is the newest member of the L’Oréal Paris family. Over the next few months, the multi-talented rock star and fashion icon will begin appearing in advertising campaigns for Infallible Le Rouge, a new collection of conditioning long wear lip color and Superior Preference hair color.

By joining the L’Oréal Paris family today, Gwen Stefani will represent her own vision of beauty alongside a roster of extraordinary spokespeople, including Jennifer Lopez, Milla Jovovich, Diane Keaton, Beyoncé Knowles, Diane Kruger, Evangeline Lilly, Andie MacDowell, Julianna Margulies, Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto and Kerry Washington.

Pantene Celebrity Stylist Danilo created Gwen Stefani’s hairdo for the 2010 MET Ball.

According to Danilo: “Gwen’s dress was made from a gold, vintage thread fabric from the 30’s, and we wanted to honor the ethereal flow by creating a chic silhouette from head to toe. I created a dramatic, contemporary twist inspired by Grace Kelly and the Hitchcock film goddesses.”

After washing her hair for a clean base, I applied the NEW Pantene Pro-V Color Nourishing Treatment, left it in for 5 minutes, and rinsed. I always opt to treat hair before a night of styling, especially on color-treated hair, so it is soft and appears in its healthiest form for the lights and cameras.

On her wet hair, I evenly spritzed the NEW Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Heat Protection & Shine Spray to prep for the blow dry. Midway through, I focused on her roots by spraying them with the Pantene Pro-V Root Lifter Spray Gel to help thicken her roots to support the grand bouffant. After blow drying, I pulled all of her hair back, pinning hair in place to create the lift, and used my fingers to form piecey rows on the top of her hair so it wasn’t perfectly smooth. To finish the look, I used the NEW Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Anti-Humidity Hairspray to keep her hair frizz-free in the horrible NYC humidity.”

The sweet power of high-shine and beautiful healthy-looking hair.

To create the dramatic, eye-catching hair designs for the L.A.M.B. Fall/Winter 2010 Collection master stylist Danilo used a combination of techniques and emphasized smooth waved curls with a very modern, beautifully luminous shine. Professional argan oil-infused Moroccanoil products were layered to achieve the silky texture, refined shine, and provide free-flowing, moveable hold.

· Danilo first created a center part after blow-drying. He then applied a small amount of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream on small sections to build soft hold and a smooth, frizz-free texture. Hydrating Styling Cream was then pulled through each section with either a comb or brush, depending upon individual hair texture.

· He next misted hair with new argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, and set the hair into tight, curled waves using a small ½” curling iron working down and under from the center part.

· He then pinned each section to cool and clipped in a bang extension. After brushing out the hair, Danilo left some waved curls long while folding others under to create varied chin or shoulder lengths.

· Danilo completed the look with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray for strong, weightless hold with softness and shine. He then lightly misted Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray to create an invisible veil of intense, silky shine.

Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Week started today, and Daily Makeover kicked it off backstage at L.A.M.B. with designer Gwen Stefani. She gave us an exclusive look into what inspires her, how she creates that fab red lip (girlfriend does her own makeup!) and what beauty look her husband can’t get enough of.

What inspired the beauty look for the L.A.M.B. show?
The collection is based on a vintage, naughty, Hollywood starlet girl, a little bit of a modern, futuristic girl and a little bit of a soldier girl. I found these Ellen von Unwerth pictures with black makeup and the dark lips [that I loved] so we’re going to do the hair very set, vintage and glamorous with a lot of bangs.

The thing that I’ve learned is that you have an inspiration, you have a picture, an idea and it just evolves into what it’s going to be. You don’t consider when you come up with three ideas for a theme that you’re going to have a blizzard, a baby with an ear infection and the Chinese new year, but at the end of the day the creative process of having that pressure and that drama means you come up with things you normally wouldn’t. I can’t wait to see it all together. For me, it’s all about that part with the music and seeing the girls.

Red lips are a big beauty trend we’re seeing for Fall 2010. The red lipstick look is already one of your trademarks!
I just love when things that I love come back into style. I don’t have one specific red lipstick that I use. MAC’s sponsoring the show today, so [lead makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury] put a mixture of four different reds on me. I know she definitely used Russian Red. I tend to go more for the blue-reds than the orange-reds–I think they look better on me.

Gwen Stefani is gracing the cover of Elle magazine July 2009, and talking about celebrity, motherhood, and No Doubt.

On being a mother: “It’s one thing when you have an infant, but when you have this two-or three-year-old going, ‘Mommy, what’s the deal?’ it’s harder. Kingston’s whole thing is, ‘I need, I need.’ He is insane right now. We’re just hoping for the best and that he’s not going to turn out to be a freak, but we’ll see.”
