Loving Sedu Revolution Hair Dryer. For the past couple of weeks I’ve been experiencing too many bad hair days on the troll. I had to get to the bottom of it and narrow the variables that might caused my very frustrating hair situation. 3 things are happening: my blonde highlights are putting a toll on my naturally dark brown hair color, product build-up (kinda like a vicious cycle-the more bad hair days I have the more product I use the more my hair turns weighted down), and lastly my old blow dryer was starting to loose steam. So I have decided to keep with my lowlights and bring back a bit of brown to my hair gradually, went to ULTA and bought a clarifying shampoo by Redken, a smoothing conditioner by Paul Mitchell, and a Sedu Revolution Hair Dryer. I had to narrow down my decision to Sedu.

Sedu Revolution Hair Dryer

On the shelf the Sedu Revolution Hair Dryer packaging looked sleek with clean lines. It looked professional, ha! It was different, and I’m a sucker to anything new that is also cool looking. Long story short, I tried it today and it fixed my bad hair days, and I’m super happy. It eliminates frizz in my hair, dries fast, easy to use. I actually like that it is smaller in size and compact compare to other blow dryers because I can control the nozzle much better. It’s not too quite but I like it. It goes like this, like certain drinks taste better when they come in certain serving glass, or fruits taste better in certain color, I like my blow dryer to be a bit loud. It stuck in my brain since I was a kid visiting the salon with my older sister. It doesn’t feel too hot even though it is hot and on the highest setting. Worth the splurge. Now I’m curios how their flat iron is like. All in all, Sedu Revolution Hair Dryer is a keeper.

BTW-If any of you know tricks & tips on how to treat bad hair days, over worked, fried, frizzy hair, please share:)

On her damp hair, I first sprayed my Volumizing Spray (Ken Paves Healthy Hair Volumizing Spray, $22: Ulta) all over and blow dried (Ken Paves Hair Dryer, $100: Ulta) with a vent brush for shape and volume. I created a part in the middle, and tucked her hair behind her ears, enhancing the shine with a touch of shine serum. Then, keeping her longer bangs in the front, I simply pulled them to each side for some added dimension. She looked amazing!”

Celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves tells Talking Makeup how to get Nelly Furtado’s hairdo at the 2009 AMA’s!

“For Nelly, we (Roberta Rogers from my LA salon and I) created a sleek ponytail with thick, modern chunky bangs. We started by spraying her damp hair with a volumizing spray (try my Ken Paves Healthy Hair Volumizing Spray, $22), and blowing it straight with my Ken Paves Professional Hair Dryer ($100, ULTA), using a Mason Pearson brush.

Once dry, we began tightly braiding the sides of Nelly’s hair upwards towards the crown of her head (and away from her face). This created a high ponytail, which I secured with a hooked elastic. I cut her bangs into a thick fringe and blew them out just at her brow. If you want to add length to your pony then try my Hairdo Wrap-Around Pony ($49, QVC) that instantly adds length to your own ponytail, or want to try bangs without making the cut, then try my Hairdo Clip-In Bangs ($29, QVC).”-Ken Paves

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Hair Trends Report:

Designer: Charlotte Ronson Spring 2010 Collection
Hair by: lead stylists Allen Ruiz for Avon Advance Techniques
Hair Trend: Classic Ballerina Chignon

Inspiration: The look mirrors the Charlotte Ronson collection, which is inspired by a remake of 80’s style. The hair was created to evoke a fresh, young wispy look and a “just walked out of dance class at Julliard” look to play off her fabrics and bold designs.

How to get the hairdo:

Step 1: Prep the hair from root to tip with Advance Techniques Salon Volume Finishing Spray to enhance natural shine and create volume.

Step 2: Using the Advance Techniques Paddle Brush and hair dryer, distribute the Advance Techniques Salon Volume Finishing Spray by sectioning off the hair and blow-drying to ensure that there is a natural, soft texture.

Step 3: Next, gather the hair tight to form a ponytail at the back crown of the head and secure with a ponytail holder keeping all sides flat.

Step 4: Holding hair at the base of the ponytail, twist the hair firmly in one direction to form a kink in to a spiral. Secure with bobby pins.

Step 5: On the sides, using the little hairs “muse” the wispy hairs to play up the natural texture.

Step 6: Lightly spray Advance Techniques Hair Spray to complete the style and hold in place.
