TM & Marta Walsh has got the word that celebrity hairstylist Marcus Francis worked with Evan Rachel Wood and created her hairstyle for the Los Angeles premiere of Ides of March on Tuesday, September 27th, 2011.

Beauty Inspiration: “Evan’s short hairstyle has the perfect balance of masculine and feminine. The clean silhouette of her white suit inspired me to keep the look strong yet sexy. It was the glam rock eye that added to my vision of a new take on a classic: combed out finger wave with a David Bowie twist. An effortless approach to androgynous sexy elegance.”

How to get Evan Rachel Wood’s hairdo:

“Prep damp hair with Phyto Volume Actif Spray, blow drying with your hands to manipulate volume at the roots. In the back, direct the hair down; on the sides, use your fingers to direct the hair back – keeping a piecey texture. When the hair is half dry, lightly spritz Fekkai Tousled Wave Spray to thicken the look and feel of the hair. With the end of a tail comb, make a deep side part starting at the arch of your eyebrow. Starting at the part, wrap small sections of hair using a 3/4″ curling iron. Moving toward the other eyebrow, your next row of sections will alternate the direction of the curl. This emulates an imperfect version of a finger wave. Continue this alternating curl pattern until you’ve finished the top side section. At the crown of the head, wrap the hair as you did in the beginning, alternating about 3 rows down. Use Jonathan Dirt Texturizing Paste to keep texture tight on the sides. Switching to Pantene Pro-V Restore Beautiful Lengths Smoothing Balm for the top, rake through using your fingers to break up the curls. Stretch out the curls to look like the day after it was styled. Spray with L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray for hold.”

Inspiration:“Bryce can look very youthful and yet classic at different times. Because her blouse had such pretty lace detail, we opted for a modern and flirty twist to her look.”

How To Get the Look: “I always prefer the hair to be one day unwashed when putting the hair up; there’s more texture and the hair stays secure longer. First I sprayed Phyto Volume Actif Spray throughout her dry hair, scrunching it in with my hands as I used the blow dryer. To give a little height to the crown, I teased four 1/2″ sections and lightly smoothed out with Mason Pearson brush. Starting at the temple area on each side of her head, I did a loose French braid. Keeping the braid taut around the nape of the neck, I finished the braids in pigtails, tying an elastic on the end. I took the right braid and wrapped it left to right back and forth, and the same with the left braid securing to the head with large hair pins. To soften Bryce’s braided chignon, I pulled out a few face framing strands and curled with a 1/2″ curling iron. Perfect for that do-it-yourself look!”

Inspiration: “With the intricate detail of Bryce’s dress, and how she still wanted a youthful feel to the hair, I took an organic approach to the style.”

How To Get the Look: “I wanted to really show off Bryce’s thick and gorgeous red hair by her wearing it down, like she was right out of Shakespeare story! I started off by spraying Phyto Volume Actif Spray at the roots on wet hair, rough drying with my hands. I then applied Phyto Pro Intense Volume Mousse to the entire strand of each section, and blew it dry with a round brush. Then lightly spray half a dozen mists of Fekkai Tousled Wave Spray throughout the hair for added texture to last. With a 1″ curling iron I wrapped from roots to ends in a figure 8, using the rod AND the clamp. This creates irregular ‘S waves’ instead of curls. To finish I sprayed lightly with L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray, and gently shook out large sections of hair.”

To achieve, David Babaii prepared Uma’s freshly washed and conditioned hair by massaging a dime size amount of Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment (www.sephora.com) into her tresses from roots to ends, combing it through with a wide tooth comb for even distribution.

Next, he used a blow dryer to dry the hair with a large round brush, lifting the root area for added volume and cupping the ends under for a smooth, rounded finish. After drying, he applied an additional amount of Pequi Oil for control and then loosely gathered the hair with his fingers and braiding it into a long, loose braid down the center back. He secured it with a rubber band while leaving the shorter top and side layers free. To finish, David created soft loose curls with a 1 ½” curling iron by taking large sections and wrapping them around the inside barrel, holding for a few seconds. He then released allowing the curls to fall naturally to achieve a true French Bohemian Look.

The buzz is all about last night’s 2011 Golden Globes Awards, and we especially loved all the old-Hollywood curls we saw. Megan Fox looked stunning with her side-swept classic ‘do, with the help of hairstylist Andy Lecompte and Phyto. Below is Lecompte’s step-by-step to achieve Fox’s winning look.

Hairstylist Andy Lecompte was inspired to create a classic look for Megan Fox with a glamorous vibe to complement her stunning one-strap gown.

To achieve this look, Lecompte started by applying Phyto Professional Intense Volume Mousse before blow drying. He set her hair using a 3/4-inch barrel curling iron and then pin curls. Once he released the pin curls, Lecompte brushed out her hair and gave the hair a deep side part.

Jane Krakowski’s Hairstyle. At the Emmy Awards 2010, all eyes were on Jane Krakowski, star of NBC’s 30 Rock, as she evoked ‘50s Hollywood glamour with a modern twist, showing off a chic textured chignon, created by celebrity stylist Creighton Bowman of Exclusive Artists Management.

“My inspiration for Jane’s red carpet look was all about her dress (ESCADA)—Jane likes to pay homage to Hollywood’s golden era,” says Creighton. “The sophisticated, one-shouldered dress called for a look with Grace Kelly’s cool elegance. Adding a textured, beachy finish to Jane’s hair gave a simple chignon a sexy, up-to-the-minute edge.”

Here’s how to get Jane Krakowski’s hairdo by Creighton:

For all-over softness and luminous shine, I started by spraying hair with René Furterer Okara 2 phase leave-in protective conditioner. The anti-fading formula helped to protect Jane’s beautiful blonde hair color, and kept it looking vibrant.

For adding more lift and “a day at the beach” texture, I sprayed hair with Sachajuan Ocean Mist at the roots. Then I applied René Furterer new Vegetal mousse on the ends and at the hairline.

Using a medium round brush, I gave Jane’s hair a basic round brush blow-out. Then I sprayed hair with René Furterer Naturia dry shampoo to enhance the natural texture.

Next, I pulled Jane’s hair into a ponytail, positioning it on the middle of the back of her head, and secured it with an elastic band. The ponytail was wrapped into a chignon and pinned into place.

I finished with an all-over misting of L’Oréal Elnett Satin Hairspray. The soft texture kept the chignon from looking too sleek—in all, an effortless, loosened-up, star-worthy look for the 2010 Emmys!

Hair Tutorial: How to get Rose Byrne’s hairstyle at the 2010 Emmy Awards by Harry Josh, John Frieda International Creative Consultant. Harry prepped Rose’s hair for one week before the red carpet by prescribing John Frieda’s Root Awakening Health Infusing Shampoo & Conditioner ($6.49 each).

1. Luxurious Volume Bountiful Body Mousse ($6.49) was applied to Rose’s wet hair and then blown out using a boar-bristle brush. The mousse helped Harry achieve high volume hair that would easily mold into the curls he was about to create—and the product gave a great texturized base, which Harry needed to create the look.

2. Harry used a 3/4-inch curling iron throughout her hair and pulled a portion of the curls into a ponytail at the crown of her head. He then pulled her hair into a high bun, pulling out individual curls for a Grecian-inspired style with a modern twist.

3. Harry secured the style by spraying Luxurious Volume All-Out Hold Hairspray ($6.49) to maintain volume and hold.

On wet hair, Renato Campora applied the Fekkai Full Blown Volume™ Styling Whip to the roots and the Fekkai Coiff™ Perfecteur Anti-Frizz Silkening Crème. Once dried, he used a ½ inch curling iron and set the hair in pin curls. After 15 minutes, Campora removed the curls and ran his fingers through the hair to loosen and create shape.

Next, he pulled the hair back into a high French twist, revealing the nape of her neck, and secured with bobby pins. To create volume, Campora loosened the hair at the crown of her head, resulting in a softer, yet ultimately glamorous style. He finished the look with Fekkai Advanced Sheer Hold Hairspray.
