For this event at the Four Seasons in Los Angeles, David created romantically disheveled texture to accentuate her gown’s beaded neckline.

To start, he applied…

a dime-sized amount of Couture Colour Pequi Oil (www.couturecolour.com) to her clean, damp hair, massaging this luxurious, alcohol-free treatment into her tresses. This vital step helps to add texture, strength and shine to the hair without weighing it down.

Next, he blow dried her hair using the IT&LY Hairfashion Racing Red Ionic Dryer (www.italyhairfashion.com) with a small round brush to make both texture and waves on her short cut. He made sure to dry each section at a 90 degree angle for maximum lift at the root while cupping the ends. After drying, David took the point of a rattail comb to define and position her texture. To create volume and height, he used his fingers to lift small sections as he brought her waves up and back.

“I started with wet hair and razor cut her bob into a more playful ‘Shab.’ This is what I call this hair cut! This cut is a progression of the bob but it has more life and does much more when you style it. Then I added Kerastase Volume Active Mousse to the whole head and roots. I blow dried the hair – just air, no brushing – until the hair was completely dry. I then brushed it with a large round Mason Pearson brush, I use a brush just for the bangs and blow it straight. The other part of the head was just scrunched and bent with my hands. I then used Klorane Dry Shampoo Spray on the whole roots and top of the head, and back brushed the top part of the head. Finally, I set hair into place with L’Oreal Elnett Hair Spray.”

How to get Frieda Pinto’s hairstyle: Renato began by applying the Fekkai COIFF Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel to wet hair before blow drying it straight. He then curled the hair with a 1-inch curling iron to give it movement and texture. To add volume, Renato teased the hair from root to tip. He then pulled the hair back and created a loose braid, highlighting Freida’s face and the beautiful neckline of the dress. The loose braid allowed the hair to still have movement while also giving length to her upper body. To secure the look, Renato applied Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray for all night hold.
