Singer Katharine McPhee and actress Lizzy Caplan made their mark on the red carpet at US Weekly’s Hot Hollywood Awards and the Party Down Season Two Premiere Party respectively! mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Jamie Greenberg provided her expert makeup tips for recreating their stunning looks.

Jamie Greenberg Explains How She Created Katharine’s Red Carpet Look:

Eyes

“To prep her eyes, I started by applying mark Please Hold Eye Primer followed by a light dusting of mark I-mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Whisper under the brow and Latte on the lid and crease. I then placed a dab of mark Crystal Shimmer Luminous Loose Powder in Bronzette to each eye lid to give a gorgeous texture.

Next, I used mark On The Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo to outline the upper lash line, followed by applying mark Eyemarker Color On Line in Java to the bottom lashes and smudged outwards. I finished off Katharine’s eyes by curling her lashes and applying two coats of mark Scanda-Lash Hook Up Mascara in Blacklash, concentrating on the outside corner lashes to really open up the eyes.”

Face: “I prepped her face by applying mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 to wake up the skin. I then used mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Nude to get that porcelain glow and even-skin look. I lightly dabbed a little mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer to hide any imperfections or under eye circles. To complete her face I applied mark Just Pinched Instant Blush in Nude to the apples of her cheeks and mark Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Prettied Up on her cheekbones. I recommend avoiding powder makeup when you really want the skin to glow. Instead, to get rid of any excess oils in the t-zone area, I use mark Cheat Sheet Shine-Blotters.”

Lips: “To finish off her perfect pout I used mark Totally Balmed SPF 15 Tinted Lip Balm in Totally Hot.”

Jamie Greenberg Explains How She Created Lizzy’s Red Carpet Look:

Eyes: “I began by applying mark Get Bright Hook Up Highlighter in Natural to wake up her eyes! Next, I applied mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow in Surreal all over the lid and blended into the crease. I love this product because the color is gorgeous and really doesn’t budge after it’s applied! I then lined her entire eye with mark Get In Line Hook Up Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner in Painted Black for extra emphasis. I finished by dabbing mark Winkstink Hook Up Eye Shadow Stick in Wealthy on the lid to give an extra pop of texture and brightness.”

Face: “I started by applying mark Calm and Composed Super-Soothing Moisturizer on Lizzy’s face to relax her skin and eliminate any redness. Then, with the mark Foundation Brush, I applied mark Get A Tint Tinted Moisturizer Lotion SPF 15 in Buff/Natural to keep the skin natural, but still have some sheer coverage. I spot-treated any areas that needed slightly more coverage with mark Speedway Do Everything Makeup in Buff and lightly set just t-zone area with mark Matte-nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder in Natural Buff. I then brushed the apple of her cheeks with mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush Custom Color Palette in Hush Baby. It gives a gorgeous glow and a bit of color at the same time.”

Lips: “I used mark Gloss Gorgeous Stay On Lip Stain in Bare. The color and shine lasts all night!”

Katharine McPhee is definitely looking different these days. I call it “The Hollywood Transformation”. First thing you do is dye your hair blonde! Think Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, even Lindsay Lohan. Blonde seems to be the ultimate Old Hollywood glamour symbol. And I love how Katharine McPhee waves her hand to fans, very regal or very Hollywood. Even the hairdo is similar to Marilyn Monroe’s: short wavy bob parted to the side. To finish the look: add red lipstick. I approve Katharine McPhee’s new hair color. The questions is: Do you?

Do you see any similarities between Katharine McPhee and Marilyn Monroe’s hair and makeup?

Here some of the beautiful celebrities who attended the Glamour Magazine 2009 Women of the Year Honors last night.

Rihanna: wow look at the dress, and Rihanna’s hair color is looking blonder by the second. Personally I’m not a huge fan of Rihanna’s hairdo. Maybe her stylists try to position her as edgy and different, but I much prefer Rihanna in longer more feminine hair. But, this is just me.

Also at the Glamour Magazine 2009 Women of the Year Honors:

This is Katharine McPhee everyone, and she is blonde!! I love it. She can pull it off completely. What a glamorous transformation. I’m s sucker to blonde hair as you can tell. It is always what you don’t have. Thank god for the bleach.

IMAN, my favorite beauty in the world!! I identify with her so much, because she still hasn’t lost her accent just like me (I have an Israeli accent that never goes away LOL). We both married to English men. And, she is a brilliant business woman.
