It’s a very pretty color, and much more of a fun, bold look than the brown she was previously sporting. Ultimately, I think a richer, deeper red would look best on her.

Rita’s tip for brunettes thinking about dying their hair red:

Red is a hard color to wear, it doesn’t work for/with everyone’s skin tone. The more olive your skin tone, the more auburn/brown you should be. The lighter the skin tone, the more copper you should be.

Other tips from Rita on changing your color:

When changing your color, make sure you are ready for the change. Also, adding highlights to your new color will make it look more natural and not dense and colored. Even subtle highlights are enough.

Get it done in the salon – drastic changes are always better done by skilled colorists. This way you are sure you have the best result and color for you hair.

Research the best colorist for you transformation, then ask your colorist for their opinion. Maybe the color you want is not the best for you, but you can compromise and create the perfect color for you.
