POP Beauty Paints LA Fashion Week at the Maggie Barry Spring/Summer 2009 Fashion Show!

Pop Beauty was proud to collaborate on Maggie Barry’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection for LA Fashion Week, to create one-of-e-kind look for her show.

“The inspiration came from Maggie’s request for a “Circus Theme” and to make the girls look like “Beautiful Dolls, but individual”, so I searched for “Dolls and Doll looks” everywhere. What I came up with was to give each girl a different kind of Doll-we had a “Marilyn Monroe” doll, a “Grace Jones” doll, a “Bratz doll” doll, a Pam Andersen as “Barb Wire” doll, several “Asian China Dolls”…says Victoria Rowe, a Pop Beauty makeup artist. 

How to get the Maggie Barry makeup look with Pop Beauty?

The following Pop Beauty products were used to create the unique looks:

Blush Cake in Pretty In Pink Blush to make that very Baby Pink, doll-like cheek blended out with iridescent white and Glow Belle Face Kit over them to make the cheeks really glow!

Day To Play Eye shadow kits, as well as Lid Neon, and Eye Cakes in Pastel Greens, Pinks, and Blues, for the lid only, with iridescent white from Glow Belle under the brow. A thick black line on the top lid only with the In-Liner in Black.

Many girls had individual designs of stars, hearts, and peace symbols drawn in black eyeliner and decorated with glitter and crystals on their cheeks as well!

Pink Ribbon Gloss and Heart-Shaped lip stains finished the baby-doll looks.

On my last day at LA Fashion Week I met up with Lori Taylor, the lead makeup artist for Smashbox Cosmetics, to talk about the makeup look for Caroline D’Amore fashion show for Spring 2009.

I met up with Actress Katie Chonacas backstage at the Maggie Barry show this week during LA Fashion Week.

Katie Chonacas looks like the young Demi Moore and quite stunning in real life. Katie was wearing a pretty green dress and high heels, and brought her favorite person in the world, her Grandmother.

Katie Chonacas was seen opposite Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in Righteous Kill which was out in September 2008. Katie can also be seen opposite Jessica Simpson in Major Movie Star.

Katie Chonacas will be seen in A Perfect Getaway with Milla Jovovich and Timothy Olyphant and Streets of Blood opposite Val Kilmer and Sharon Stone – both out in 2009.

Katie is currently preparing to shoot Werner Herzog’s The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans opposite Eva Mendes and Nicolas Cage.

Katie Chonacas was also featured in Maxim October 2008 edition pages 18 and 19.

Katie is also a singer and has just finished her first tour with 50 cent and the G-unit camp. Katie flew to Spain to open for 50 and sang her first song “SO N2 U”. Katie also just wrapped shooting 50′s latest new music video directed by film maker Charles Winkler.

Kim Kardashian and her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, were spotted at LA Fashion Week minutes before the Caroline D’Amore fashion show on Tuesday October 14th.

Kim Kardashian looked beautiful in a fuschia dress and black high heels. Kourtney Kardashian was equally gorgeous in a white button down shirt and a black pencil skirt.

Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashin look just as beautiful in real life! This is what I describe as natural beauty. Note: it was quite a challenge taking Kim Kardashian’s photos, I had to compete with lots of professional and somewhat aggressive paparazzi photographers.

I’m so excited because I’m going to LA Fashion Week which is starting Sunday afternoon at the Smashbox Studios. On our agenda: reporting hair and makeup runway trends backstage at the following shows: Kevan Hall,Suh-Than, Whitley Kros, Julia Clancey, and Carolin D’Amore.

The highlight of my trip would be probably going backstage at the Lauren Conrad fashion show and chatting with Amy Nadine, Lauren’s personal makeup artist who is also the lead of the Mark cosmetics team. The makeup look for Lauren Conrad at LA Fashion Week would be achieved by Mark Cosmetics!

Together Amy Nadine and Lauren Conrad developed a gloss and lipstick that will be used at Lauren’s show this season. The lipstick will only be used for the show and will not be produced right now. However, Mark will move forward with producing the gloss, which is called m.powerment peach, which has a retail value of $10 and references Mark’s m.powerment campaign -Lauren Conrad is the spokeswoman for the charity.

Six girls from Mark’s m.powerment campaign, which is a charitable organization aimed at ending the cycle of dating abuse and violence, will have the chance to go backstage and meet Lauren.
