L’Oréal Paris is pleased to announce Natasha Poly as the brand’s latest spokesperson.

By joining L’Oréal Paris, Natasha becomes part of a remarkable roster of spokespeople which includes elite super models such as Doutzen Kroes, Claudia Schiffer and Liya Kebede, as well as international stars like Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé Knowles and Jennifer Lopez.

Since winning a modeling competition in Moscow at the age of 15, Natasha (now 25) has taken the fashion world by storm. Beginning with her Emmanuel Ungaro catwalk debut in 2004, she has appeared in shows for more than 54 fashion houses, including leading international brands Jean Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel and Valentino. She has been a Calvin Klein icon, a Victoria’s Secret angel, and in 2009, was named one of the top models “of the moment” by US Vogue.

“It’s not a coincidence that I’ve taken on this role with L’Oréal Paris. Before becoming a model, I dreamed of being a professional makeup artist! I’ve always loved cosmetics and I always need to have my L’Oréal Paris products backstage at fashion shows. Colour Riche Lipcolour and Elnett Satin Hairspray are iconic products for me, and I’m so excited to be representing them,” explains Natasha Poly.

“Natasha has a magnetic beauty that has established her major presence on the fashion scene in just a few years. Stunningly beautiful, our new Russian icon has a glamorous, edgy sense of style, complemented by a striking personality. I am thrilled to welcome one of the world’s most talented super models who has truly made her outstanding destiny.”–Cyril Chapuy, Global Brand President of L’Oréal Paris

Hollywood’s top makeup and hair talent have share with TM & Marta Walsh their inspiration, “how-to” steps and the L’Oréal Paris and Matrix products necessary to replicate the stunning styles seen on the following celebs at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

DIANNA AGRON (MAKEUP)

Makeup Artist: Monika Blunder

Inspiration: For Dianna’s makeup, Monika was inspired by the spring 2012 fashion shows where the makeup was fresh but still very glamorous. Since Dianna’s red Giles dress was so “va va voom,” Monika focused on the lips to be the stand out feature.

Step by Step How-To:

Monika kept Julianna’s skin simple and fresh with a bit of L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Light Ivory to give skin a light glow. Since the focus was kept on her lips, only a small amount of L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Celestial (Pink) was applied to the apples of cheeks. The bold red lip stole the show; Monika applied L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Bold Bordeaux for lasting shine and pigment. The eyes were highlighted with a hint of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte with Vaseline applied over it to create added shine. The L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black was lightly applied around the rim of the eye and Monika applied several coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Black to complete the look

Products Used:

L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Light Ivory ($10.95)

L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Celestial ($12.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte (Price: $7.95)

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black ($8.95)

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Black ($9.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Bold Bordeaux ($9.95)

Julie Bowen (MAKEUP)

Makeup Artist: Heather Currie

Inspiration: Heather was completely inspired by Julie’s classic Reem Acra, peachy-champagne dress. To match her Grace Kelly-esque hair, Heather wanted to create an old Hollywood glam makeup moment with a neutral palette for the face and lips (with hints of pink) and defined, smoky eyes.

Step by Step How-To:

To create the base look, Heather started with an Armani foundation. Next, she applied L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Celestial to the apples of Julie’s cheeks to create a radiant, natural and youthful glow. On the eyes, Heather created a winged tip eye with L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black. She also used L’Oréal Paris Extra-Intense Carbon Black Eyeliner to precisely define the rest of the eyes. Heather used a sheer amount of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Continues Cocoa in the creases of Julie’s eyes. She then blended L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte and Eternal Sunshine to create a sultry, smoky eye effect. An extra dab of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte was used under the eyebrow line to add additional definition and depth. Lips were kept natural with a hint of color using L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Le Gloss in Golden Splash

Products Used:

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black ($8.95)

L’Oréal Paris Extra-Intense Carbon Black Eyeliner ($8.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Continues Cocoa, Iced Latte & Eternal Sunshine ($9.99)

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Blackest Black ($9.95)

L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Celestial ($12.95)

L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Le Gloss in Golden Splash ($7.95)

Freida Pinto (HAIR)

Hair Stylist: Giannandrea Marongiu

Inspiration: Inspired by Freida’s princess-like Prada dress, Giannandrea wanted to keep the hair easy and simple so that the overall look was elegant, timeless and, of course, chic. Giannandrea created a soft twist with the top and sides of Freida’s hair while giving the crown that extra oomph for volume. Cascading waves fell softly down her back to maintain the feel of effortless beauty.

Step by Step How-To:

Giannandrea began with wet hair and applied a generous amount of L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Boosting Mousse before using a hairdryer to blow it dry using only his fingers to give hair texture. He then applied L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Volume Root Lifting Spray & Volume Boosting Mousse to just the crown area to create voluminous lift. Using a round brush, he blasted hair – separated in sections – with high heat and then temporarily set each section with Velcro rollers. After spraying each section with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray – Extra Strong Hold Unscented for a soft hold, he let the hair sit while Freida got her makeup done. After her makeup was applied, he took out the rollers and brushed through the curls to create soft, flowing waves down her back. He then back combed the crown for added lift and took the top portion of the hair with a few pieces from each side and created a very subtle, soft twist that flowed into the length of the hair. To finish the look, he used a touch of the L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Smooth & Shine Crème to smooth out the length and sides to give the style an overall clean feel. Giannandrea set Freida’s look with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray – Extra Strong Hold Unscented to keep hair in place throughout the night.

Products Used:

L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Volume Root Lifting Spray & Volume Boosting Mousse ($6.99 each)

L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold Unscented ($14.99)

L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Smooth & Shine Crème ($6.99)

FREIDA PINTO (MAKEUP)

Makeup Artist: Leslie Lopez

Inspiration: “Freida has such gorgeous eyes!” said Leslie. “I really wanted to channel a young Sophia Loren and make Freida’s eyes the focal point of her look.”

Step by Step How-To:

Leslie gave Freida a flawless face by starting with L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Foundation in W6 (Sun Beige). She created a sun-kissed look on the cheeks with L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Cherubic. For Freida’s eyelids, she used L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe, and Iced Latte on the brow bone for an extra pop of shimmer. Leslie gave the look an extra layer of smokiness with L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in black before curling her lashes and applying a few coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in Black. To keep Freida’s eyes the focus, she kept her lips on the natural side with L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Lingering Mocha, a soft mauve.

Julianna Margulies (HAIR)

Hair Stylist: Matthew Monzon

Inspiration: Inspired by Julianna’s Naeem Khan dress, Matthew wanted to compliment the sophisticated style with a hairstyle that was simple, fresh and young. Matthew created a polished ponytail, but punched it up with a touch of allure by adding volume and height to the top and front of her hair. The ponytail was sleek, glossy and tight to compliment and finish her classic look of the night.

Step by Step How-To:

To create a volumized ponytail, Matthew first used L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Volume Root Lifting Spray & Volume Boosting Mousse on damp hair, combing it through from root to end and blow dried Julianna’s hair with a large round brush. Once hair was dry, Matthew sectioned the hair in two parts, securing a low ponytail and leaving the front/top section of hair out. Next, Matthew added some height to the top and front of Julianna’s hair by slightly teasing it with a brush. He then secured all of hair together to make a tight ponytail. He then took a quarters size dollop of L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Smooth & Shine Crème & Serum and smoothed over the sides and in the ponytail to ensure that all hair looked smooth and glossy. Matthew finished Julianna’s look with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold Unscented to keep hair in place throughout the night

Products Used:

L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Volume Root Lifting Spray & Volume Boosting Mousse ($6.99 each)

L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Smooth & Shine Crème & Serum ($6.99 each)

L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray ($14.99)

JULIANNA MARGULIES (MAKEUP)

Makeup Artist: Kristofer Buckle

Inspiration: For Julianna’s makeup, Kris was inspired by Julianna’s deep mauve, metallic Naeem Khan dress. He wanted to create something that would complement its texture and liquid-like flow.

Step by Step How-To:

For the night, Kris kept Julianna’s skin simple with glowing soft tones to accentuate her olive skin. To keep Julianna’s complexion looking flawless he used L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Soft Ivory. For her cheeks he applied L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Plume. The eyes really took center stage with a soft smoky eye that was created with watercolor-like shades using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe, Eternal Sunshine and Iced Latte. To tie the look together Kris used a hint L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte on Julianna’s upper cheeks to tie in the eyes and glowing tones of her skin. Lips were left unlined and highlighted natural tones (with a hint of mauve) using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Forever Frappe

Products Used:

L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Soft Ivory ($10.95)

L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Plume ($12.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe, Eternal Sunshine and Iced Latte ($7.95)

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Black ($9.95)

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Brown ($8.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Forever Frappe ($9.95)

Emma Stone (HAIR)

Hair Stylist: Mara Roszak

Inspiration: To complement her striking Lanvin gown, stylist Mara Roszak wanted Emma’s hair to emulate that same edgy and effortless style. Staying away from anything too romantic, the rougher texture was key in achieving the goal of the style – a strong feel while remaining feminine.

Step by Step How-To:

Starting with wet hair, applied MATRIX Total Results Amplify Foam Volumizer. Rough dried hair to extenuate natural texture. Used a 1” barrel curling iron to touch up natural wave. Took a dab of MATRIX Total Results Curl Contouring Lotion to tame any extra frizz throughout the hair and give it a bit more definition. Pulled hair back loosely letting the front of the hair and pieces around the face fall out. Twist ends of hair and pull back to create a loose, messy chignon in the back, letting the front of the hair and pieces around the face fall out. Once hair was back and pinned, began dropping the hair into the messy bun shape, pinning and wrapping each piece individually. To secure the style, used BIOLAGE Freeze Fix Hair Spray. Pinned in Lanvin hair accessory.

Products Used:

MATRIX Total Results Amplify Foam Volumizier ($15, Matrix.com for salon locations)

MATRIX Total Results Curl Contouring Cream ($15, Matrix.com for salon locations)

BIOLAGE Freeze Fix Hair Spray ($15, Matrix.com for salon locations)

Katharine McPhee (MAKEUP)

Makeup Artist: Lauren Andersen

Inspiration: To complement Katharine’s ethereal Donna Karan number, Lauren crated an equally innocent beauty look that was fresh-faced and youthful. “This beauty look was very sweet,” Lauren said. “I used the flower Baby’s Breath as my inspiration for creating a look for Katharine that was simple and natural.”

Step by Step How-To:

To create the base for her look, Lauren started with Cle de Peau Beaute Refining Fluid Foundation SPF 24. Next, she applied L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Celestial to the apples of Katharine’s cheeks for a soft, natural flush. On the eyes, she swiped L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte across the lids, blending it into the crease for a sultry, warm smoky eye. She also thinly lined eyes with L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Brown to deepen the look of lashes, which she coated with L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara. For the lips, Lauren used Dior Rouge Contour Lip Liner in Linen and L’Oréal Paris Infallible Gloss 8HR in Petal. Lauren finished with a dusting of YSL Poudre Sur Mesure – a semi loose powder in neutral to set the overall look

Products Used:

L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush ($12.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow ($7.95)

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Brown ($8.95)

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara ($8.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Gloss 8HR in Petal ($9.99)

Mila Kunis (HAIR)

Hair Stylist: Mara Roszak

Inspiration: To complement her Old Hollywood-inspired gorgeous black Dior dress, Mara created a loose braided bun that felt classic and youthful all at once. “Mila has such an overall elegance to her style. I wanted to create a look that would complement the femininity of the dress while still looking polished,” Mara said.

Step by Step How-To:

First, Mara treated the ends of Mila’s damp hair to L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Smooth and Shine Serum. She started at the bottom and worked the serum up further into hair for a smooth base. From here, she sprayed L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Root Lifting Spray at the roots to add extra oomph while blow-drying with a round brush. Next, Mila’s hair was gathered into a low ponytail, loosely braided and secured with a hair elastic. This loose braid was then wrapped into a bun shape around the elastic and pinned into place using bobby pins. A touch of Oribe Rough Luxury Molding Wax was used to smooth any remaining flyaways and frizzies. A final mist of L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray was used to lock in the style for touchable hold.

Products Used:

L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Smooth and Shine Serum ($6.99)

L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Root Lifting Spray ($6.99)

L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray ($14.99

Sarah Michelle Gellar (MAKEUP)

Makeup Artist: Jake Bailey

Inspiration: The inspiration for this look was Sarah’s Monique L’huillier blue and white gown (which was chosen by Sarah’s two year old daughter). For the night, Jake wanted to make the eyes the main focus to complement the bold color of the dress.

Step-by-Step How-To:

To start, Jake used L’Oréal Paris Extra-Intense Carbon Black Eyeliner to rim and define the top and bottom lash lines. Next, Jake blended two shades of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Midnight Blue and Sultry Smoke – using his fingertip, Jake gently blended both shades and used them outward and upward to create a smokey effect. To accentuate Sarah Michelle’s lashes he coated them with L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Blackest Black. He perfected her skin by buffing a dime size dollop L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Caramel Beige over Sarah Michelle’s entire face and finished it with a dusting of Guerlain Mineral Powder in Les Violettes. Jake used a powder bronzer from Nars in Laguna to warm her complexion and brightened her cheeks with a swirl of a shimmery coral blush called from Benefit in Coralista on the apples. He lined Sarah Michelle’s lips and filled them in with a nude liner called from Urban Decay in wallflower. Jake finished the look by applying L’Oréal Paris Infallible 8hr plumping gloss in plumping pink to add shine and dimension. For her body he mixed equal parts AHAVA mineral body lotion and M.A.C. strobe cream to add a healthy sheen to her shoulders arms and decolletage

Products Used:

L’Oréal Paris Extra-Intense Carbon Black Eyeliner ($8.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Midnight Blue & Sultry Smoke ($9.99)

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Blackest Black ($9.95)

L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Soft Ivory ($10.95)

L’Oréal Paris Infallible 8HR Plumping Gloss in Plumping Pink ($9.99)

I wear it throughout the day starting with meeting my Real Estate clients as a Paradise Valley & Scottsdale REALTOR all the way to drinks and dinner at night.
Drugstore Gems. L’Oreal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé and L’Oreal Paris True Match Naturale Gentle Mineral Makeup SPF 19. I was recently on a desperate search for the right foundation for my face. Sometimes it happens to the best of us when nothing works for some reason. I was looking for a gentle foundation that is easy and not too messy to apply. Not too oily and shiny and not too dry either. I found Magic Smooth Soufflé and True Match Naturale Gentle Mineral Makeup. I also found the perfect shade for me Sun Beige which suites my light olive skin so it doesn’t make me look too pale.

L to R: L’Oreal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé & True Match Naturale Gentle Mineral Makeup SPF 19

The Soufflé is one of the best foundation I’ve ever tried, it really covers imperfections into a smooth matte canvas. Some foundation leave my skin too oily so I need the powder and feel too heavy. With this one I can even skip the powder. I apply it sometimes on just the problem areas and sometimes all over. The Gentle Mineral Makeup is designed so you can use the brush it comes with. It’s not messy to apply and the coverage is great, you can travel with it, AND the price is right.

TM has a sneak peek to the following letter from Karen Fondu, President of L’Oréal Paris, announcing Liya Kebede as the brand’s latest spokesperson.

June 21, 2011. ”I am pleased to announce Liya Kebede, international model, actress and entrepreneur, as our latest global brand ambassador. A strong, inspiring woman and true humanitarian, we are proud to welcome Liya into the L’Oréal Paris family.

By joining L’Oréal Paris, Liya becomes part of a remarkable roster of spokespeople, including Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, Julianna Margulies, Freida Pinto and Andie MacDowell.

Liya left her Ethiopian hometown at the age of 18 to pursue a modeling career in France, where she quickly made a name for herself working with top designers and gracing the pages of international fashion magazines. While she remains a key figure in the modeling world, her talent extends to the film industry, including acting roles in The Good Shepherd and Desert Flower. What’s more, Liya is passionate about humanitarian causes. A mother herself, she is an advocate for mothers and children across the world, dedicating extensive efforts to maternal, neonatal and infant healthcare. In 2005, she was nominated as a Goodwill Ambassador for the World Health Organization (WHO) and soon after, established the Liya Kebede Foundation to raise money and provide healthcare material for Durame Hospital in Ethiopia. Liya’s passion for giving back also led to the creation of her charitable clothing line, Lemlem.

A beauty inside and out, Liya fully represents our brand philosophy and we look forward to an exciting partnership with her.”

Warmest regards,

Karen T. Fondu

President, L’Oréal Paris

PARIS, June 20, 2011– Liya Kebede, an international model, entrepreneur, actress, humanitarian and true advocate for mothers and children as well as a mother herself, today joins L’Oreal Paris.

“Liya is a very strong, inspiring, and courageous woman, with an extremely refined and enchanting beauty. Her generous commitment to the cause of women’s wellbeing is also remarkable,” says Cyril Chapuy, Global Brand President of L’Oreal Paris.

“It is important for me that I represent a brand that reflects my personality. I’m pleased to play a part in sharing the uniqueness, the charisma, and the incredible stories of women of all origins and from all regions of the world,” says Liya Kebede.

Liya Kebede’s career began when she was in high school in Addis-Adaba, Ethiopia. Scouted by a modelling agency, she left Africa for France at the age of 18, and top-level international designers like Tom Ford, then the Artistic Director for Gucci, quickly fell under her charm. Since then, her elegance and her beauty have been remarked at Fashion Weeks around the world, and she has been featured on covers of international fashion magazines (Vogue, Flair, I-D), emerging as a key figure in the industry.

Liya’s talent has also been noticed within the cinema profession. Following her appearance in The Good Shepherd in 2006, alongside Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie, Liya then played the role of model Waris Dirie in Desert Flower in 2009, film adaptation of a New York Times Best Selling Novel bearing the same name.

Liya dedicates much of her time and energy to humanitarian causes, about which she is passionate. In 2005, she was nominated as a Goodwill Ambassador for the World Health Organisation (WHO), for maternal, neonatal, and infant healthcare. Her commitment was such that, just a few months later, she established the Liya Kebede Foundation, raising money for the Durame Hospital in Awassa, Ethiopia, with the goal of providing healthcare material.

In 2007, she created her own clothing line, Lemlem, which aims to support the trade of local artisans in Africa by valorising their expert craftsmanship and create self-sustaining economies.

Liya today becomes part of the L’Oreal Paris family as a Spokeswoman, joining Ines de la Fressange, Gwen Stefani, Freida Pinto, Jane Fonda, Aimee Mullins, Jennifer Lopez, Laetitia Casta and Gerard Butler.
