From her love of diamonds and the men who gave them to her, to the classic roles that she immortalized on the silver screen, the glamorous Elizabeth Taylor was known for many things. In homage to the violet eyed Hollywood icon, Napoleon Perdis reflects upon the lasting legend of this timeless beauty and offers a way to celebrate her glamorous looks.

Elizabeth Taylor

“I was deeply saddened by the news of Elizabeth Taylor’s passing. The legendary icon has always been a personal idol of mine. Her style epitomized that Old Hollywood glamour, and she’s been the driving influence behind many of my campaigns and collections. Her arresting violet eyes, signature alluring red lips and strong brows captivated the world. She always knew the power of a sultry winged eye liner!”

I remember my mother introducing me to the silver screen star in the film ‘A Place in the Sun’, and I recall my father affectionately dubbing my mother ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ for their similar tastes in fashion and makeup. Beauty icon, tireless advocate and phenomenal actress – Elizabeth will truly be missed by all. I will be watching Cleopatra in remembrance of the great dame. ”– NAPOLEON PERDIS

For those interested in keeping her spirit alive, Napoleon presents the Legendary Liz Taylor Look:

· Red Lips

Devine Goddess Lipstick ($22) in Xenia

Napoleon’s Tip – Apply your lipstick and then use a pencil to line around the edges. The liner will glide on more smoothly, leaving a more natural outline but still preventing the lip color from bleeding

· Violet Eyes

Color Disc in High Voltage Violet ($25)

Napoleon’s Tip – Before applying to lids, prep the base with a concealer to guarantee color longevity; always use an eye shadow brush to evenly distribute onto the eyes for minimal fallout

· Black Eyeliner

Napoleon Perdis Neo Noir Eyeliner ($20)

Napoleon’s Tip – Use it to create an exaggerated cat eye, or make a subtler statement. The super soft applicator tip means mistake proof lining, while the intense black color is buildable for more drama at night

All of the products can be found at Ulta Stores and NapoleonPerdis.com.

Spring Makeup: This spring gather your friends and your crush together for an afternoon of fun! Re-live your favorite childhood memories of playing games such as Simon says, Red Light/Green Light, Hide and Seek and TV Tag. This spring, Napoleon Perdis challenges you to a game of Napoleon Says on how to wear the latest pastel colors this spring and look fabulous!

To achieve a beautiful golden face, Napoleon says: Using a basic skin care regime on a daily basis will help eliminate dry and dead skin cells that can make the skin look dull. Next, apply a primer like my Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer. Not only does primer keep your makeup looking smoother and lasting longer, but many of ingredients promote skin hydration and will keep your skin looking fresh and radiant. Iridescent creams and liquids are the perfect tool to promote skin luminosity.

Wearing pastel colors from day to night, Napoleon says: For your day look, keep the eye open and clean by teaming your shadow with a white liner on the inner rim. My China Doll Gel liner in Alabaster will stay put for hours and make your eyes appear brighter and awake. To transform your look from day to night, create further definition to the eye with a dark liner. Keep the liner soft and blended.

To keep pastels looking fresh, Napoleon says: To maintain the fresh and feminine appeal that pastel eye shadow shades offer, keep your eyes defined with neatly groomed brows and luscious lashes. Steer clear of pairing matte pastel shadows with a matte pastel lip, which can look a little 1960s… Unless, of course, that is the look you are going for.

To finish a beautiful spring face, Napoleon says: The high points of the face that naturally stand out will be further enhanced with a highlighter, so apply it to the cheekbones, browbone (directly under the brow), bridge of the nose, forehead and chin. Concentrate the most intensity on the cheek & brow bone. Utilize softer application on the nose, forehead and chin.

Napoleon says: Pastel shadows are so pretty and feminine- and so in this spring. There are pastel shades for women of all skin tones. Pinks and blues work well on fair complexions. Greens and purples are perfect for medium and olive complexions. Golden shades of yellow pop on women with deeper complexions
