Redken Creative Consultant Guido created hair with a bit of an edge at Prada today, which offset the beautiful Spring/Summer 2012 collection. “The look for Prada today is a bit like a girl curling her hair and putting in a bobby pin before going out at night- she did her hair herself. It’s kind of homemade, not finished, the hair of a woman with a David Lynch darkness– she’s more night than day with her hair. But she is overall a Prada woman because there is a refinement to her quirkiness.”–Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

Prada Spring/Summer 2012 collection the hairstyle: Milan FashionWeek

Redken Products Used:

- Satinwear 02 ultimate blow-dry lotion

- Hot sets 22 thermal setting mist

- Fashion work 12 versatile working spray

How to create the hairstyle:

-Apply satinwear 02 to damp hair and rough dry.

-Create a clean left side part and secure with a bobby pin on the right side.

-Tuck hair behind the ears.

-Section the back and apply hot sets 22 to hair and then curl sections using a 1” iron.

-Leave the curls as is (don’t brush out).

-On the crown of the head, apply fashion work 12 to create a slicker look and ensure no fly-away’s.

To celebrate The Town’s debut in theaters today, September 17th, 2010, with Rebecca Hall, Blake Lively, John Hamm and Ben Affleck, NARS highlights Rebecca’s looks from the film’s recent premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Venice International Film Festival. Created by Stephen Sollitto for NARS Cosmetics, below are details on what she wore!

Rebecca Hall at the Venice International Film Festival (Day, September 4, 2010)

To complement her printed Prada dress during the day, Stephen kept the look pretty but simple.

Rebecca Hall at the Venice International Film Festival (Night, September 4, 2010)

For her evening premiere, Stephen turned to Pure Matte Lipstick, taking her effortlessly from day to night and complementing her teal Vionnet dress.

Products used: Sheer Glow Foundation, Douceur Blush, Daphne Eyeshadow (on the outer corners), Coconut Grove Eyeshadow (“a brilliant brown” to line lids) and Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil lightly dabbed onto lips. For her evening look, Stephen added a mix of two shades to her lips: Vesuvio and Terre de Feu Pure Matte Lipstick.

Rebecca Hall at the Toronto International Film Festival (September 9, 2010).

Stephen kept her black and red Yves Saint Laurent look “modern and monochromatic for a vibe reminiscent of Studio 54.”

Products used: Sheer Glow Foundation, Douceur Blush, Melusine Duo Eyeshadow (NEW for Holiday 2010! For now, try Daphne Eyeshadow in the outer corners for definition), and Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara, and Tashkent Pure Matte Lipstick, “ideal for her sleek look.”

Prada Parfums has launched a new advertising campaign for Prada Infusion d’Iris which features model Lara Stone, shot by famed photographer, Steven Meisel.

Prada Infusion d’Iris: Since its arrival in 2007, Infusion d’Iris has redefined the rules of contemporary perfumery through its delicately balanced mix of tradition and sensuality: an inspiring and joyful vision of what it means to be a woman today. Infusion d’Iris captured the attention of the market, opening up a new space within the Prada Parfums portfolio for fresher scents, within the context of Prada’s vision of timeless heritage fused with uncompromising modernity. Now, Prada Parfums has launched a new advertizing campaign that brings these qualities into a fresh alignment.

Shot by Steven Meisel, creator of many of Prada’s most striking images, and featuring model Lara Stone, this print media campaign creates a compelling vision of the unique qualities that make Infusion d’Iris an inspiring, unforgettable experience.

Lara Stone lies on a marble check floor, the same emblematic floor found in the original Prada store at Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Her gaze, both alluring and inquiring, holds our attention for a moment, but soon our eyes are irresistibly drawn to the object before her: an outsize flacon of Infusion d’Iris.

Sensual and evocative, this image reconnects the viewer to Prada’s heritage represented by the historic Prada crest that graces the bottle of Infusion d’Iris, the true protagonist of this campaign.

A celebration of the timeless Prada heritage, brought into a sharp contemporary focus.

Nicole Kidman Grammy’s Hair How-To. The Hair Tutorial.

Celebrity hairdresser David Babaii created this romantic and elegant up-do to emphasize Nicole’s beautiful bone structure and Prada dress design. He began by spraying her entire head with David Babaii for WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray, scrunching into her hair for body, lift and texture. Next, he dried her hair using a large round brush concentrating on the root area for maximum lift.

Once dry, he divided tresses into 4 sections (top, sides and back leaving the nape area free). Using the H2Pro 300SE Styling Iron, he created “ribbon curls” by taking small “V” shaped partings. To achieve, wrap the hair around and inside the styling iron close to the scalp area and pull the iron down (similar to curling ribbon). After curling the entire head, he applied some David Babaii for WildAid Hair Polish into his hands, using his fingers to loosen the curls from the mid-section to the ends only.

This is done as to not disturb the texture at the top and crown area. Next, he carefully created a side part and again using his fingers to gently roll and twist hair. Pick up large sections as you continue to circle to the other side of the head and pin where needed. Finish into a messy bun and secure with additional pins. At the top area finger comb the bang area into a natural falling wave. For a long but natural lasting hold, he used David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray.

Products all by Redken:
thickening lotion 06 body builder
hardwear 16 super strong gel

Create the Look:
1- Section hair into two sections by a horizontal part at ear height.

2- Clip top portion aside and blow dry in thickening lotion 06 body builder into bottom half of hair for volume and secure into a ponytail. Slide a donut over this ponytail and secure pieces around to cover entire donut.

3- Take top portion that was clipped off and blow dry in thickening lotion 06 body builder through top section and then backcomb to create textured volume.

4- Smooth hardwear 16 super strong gel into hair to pull top section smoothly and perfectly over donut portion and secure at nape of neck.

5- Create that lacquer look by applying heavy layers of forceful 23 super strength finishing spray directly to chignon and sides to secure with ultimate hold.
