Last night, Diesel Only The Brave celebrated their newest fragrance launch with an intimate live performance by the face of the scent, Common (who is currently filming “Just Wright” with Queen Latifah in NYC). Michelle Trachtenberg (“Gossip Girl“), Olivia Palermo (“The City“) and model Sessilee Lopez were also in attendance for the event held at Capitale in NYC.

The GRAMMY-winning hip-hop artist’s performance embodied the spirit of determination and perseverance. This private concert for Common’s friends and celebrity fans captured the essence of empowerment, a sense that the performer depicts throughout his work, from his music to his community outreach.

Queen Latifah, the award-winning rapper, actress and singer has teamed up with Parlux Fragrances Inc. to launch for fall Queen by Queen Latifah, a signature women’s scent, and the latest addition to the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based company’s growing stable of celebrity scents.

The Queen by Queen Latifah collection will include eau de parfum spray in two sizes, 3.4 oz. for $59 and 1.7 oz. for $49. A body lotion will be available for $35 as well as a body butter for $40. The ruby-red bottle, “the color of sexiness and love,” according to Latifah, boasts a square shape “to represent the strength of a woman,” while a raised heart on the bottle’s facade is meant to represent beauty from within.

The Downtown Armory was the setting Wednesday evening for the 37th annual Fragrance Foundation FiFi Awards – where celebrities and fashion designers rubbed elbows with beauty company executives.  

The lineup included Marc Jacobs (who was inducted into the Fragrance Foundation’s Hall of Fame), Queen Latifah, Ernest Borgnine, Dustin Hoffman and Paris Hilton.

Did you love Queen Latifah, the hostess with the mostess’s, look last night at the People’s Choice Awards? Wish you could create the look for yourself at home? Celebrity makeup artist and true legend in the business, Sam Fine, who helped Queen look her most fabulous self last night, gives a how-two below.

THE LOOK:
Classic with a hint of color – Fine complimented her purple dress using subtle shades. For the green dress, he simply created a bolder lip.

EYES:
Fine used eggplant on the eye – it’s easier to wear than lilac and is closer to brown/mahogany tones. He applied it to the crease of the eye and underneath for definition. Fine used CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4-Kit in Ice Princess, $5.61 at drugstore.com. He paired the eggplant with an opalescent beige shadow on the eyelid to open up the eye. Fine used eye liner for definition on the top and tons of lashes.

CHEEKS:
Fine started with a dusting of bronzer. Queen had just come back from the holidays so she had a nice base tan. The bronzer helped to keep the golden glow going. He then layered on a rose colored blush on top of the bronzer. It added a hint of sublte color. LIPS:
Fine lined Queen’s mouth with a liner.

Fine went with a bold mouth. He created a totally different look by just changing the lips. It completely transforms the look into one that is glamorous and sexy.
