“It was a warm summer night in Hollywood, and Rose was wearing a very cool, easy glamour dress from Zimmerman, so we went with an non-fussy summer look. It was an outdoor event and it seemed right to go with a fun lip color. Not too much on the eye, a sun kissed cheek and a bright, happy coral lip.”

How to get Rose Byrne’s makeup look:

“Using the EcoTools Bamboo Foundation Brush I swiped on Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #6 on her forehead, cheeks, and chin. (You can use the foundation brush with product on it to go over areas that need more coverage). I set the base with CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Dore and then have her a bit of a sunny glow with the Benefit Hoola Bronzer.

I kept the eyes very simple since the lip was such a statement. I swept Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Almond, a warm lightly shimmery shadow, all over the lid with the EcoTools Large Eyeshadow Brush from the 6 Piece Eye Brush Set and then used a bit of the Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Chestnut into the crease with the EcoTools Domed Highlighting Brush to add depth to the eye.

Heaps of Lancôme Virtuose Mascara, after curling the lashes, gave the eyes a sweet doe eyed finish, and bright slash of color on the lips, Tom Ford Private Blend Lipstick in Ginger Fawn, finished up the look.”

Hair Tutorial: How to get Rose Byrne’s hairstyle at the 2010 Emmy Awards by Harry Josh, John Frieda International Creative Consultant. Harry prepped Rose’s hair for one week before the red carpet by prescribing John Frieda’s Root Awakening Health Infusing Shampoo & Conditioner ($6.49 each).

1. Luxurious Volume Bountiful Body Mousse ($6.49) was applied to Rose’s wet hair and then blown out using a boar-bristle brush. The mousse helped Harry achieve high volume hair that would easily mold into the curls he was about to create—and the product gave a great texturized base, which Harry needed to create the look.

2. Harry used a 3/4-inch curling iron throughout her hair and pulled a portion of the curls into a ponytail at the crown of her head. He then pulled her hair into a high bun, pulling out individual curls for a Grecian-inspired style with a modern twist.

3. Harry secured the style by spraying Luxurious Volume All-Out Hold Hairspray ($6.49) to maintain volume and hold.

Beauty Inspiration: Rose wore a cream dress with a gold detail. Her hair was softly textured and swept into a soft high chignon by Harry Josh for John Frieda. I wanted to move away from anything too tan or Grecian looking, and keep things young and fresh. For this reason, I used mainly creme and gel formulas.

Makeup Tutorial:

First I smoothed the skin with CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate, and then applied a layer of oil free primer. I started by applying a layer of eye shadow base, then worked directly over the top with CHANEL Liquid Eyeshadow in Splash, a gentle mauve pewter shade, new for Holiday. I added a liner under the lash line to add depth, then put a line of the liquid shadow over the top and blended it out slightly. Rose’s base was CHANEL Vitalumiere Fluid Makeup, blended very gently away to almost nothing. I only used powder on the nose chin and forehead, leaving the rest of the skin dewy. Lashes were given a generous coat of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir.

I used a tan matte blush to sculpt Rose’s cheek bones, then on the tip of the cheek bones and just under the brow I added a gentle dab of Nars Luxor, which is a transparent creme stick which shines pink in the light. On the top crest of the lip I used a lip pencil in a rose gold tone, to add a highlight to the cupids bow, and then I added a touch of CHANEL Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Insouciance… Probably the best nude gloss ever!

STEP 1: Harry began by applying John Frieda’s Root Awakening Strength Restoring Smoothing Lotion to Rose’s wet hair – making it more manageable for styling.

STEP 2: Harry blow dryed the hair with a round brush – gently pulling it straight.

STEP 3: Using a ¾ inch curling iron, he wrapped each section of her hair around the iron, with it pointed down. Then he brushed out the curls until he achieved the perfect wave.

“Rose’s look was part Penelope Tree, part Belle du Jour. She has incredible eyebrows, and I wanted to push that 1960′s shape but keep it modern. ” “I worked along the lash line with CHANEL Long Lasting Eyeliner in Ebénè. I blended it out and into the socket line.

Over the top I worked with CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Ebony pressing the colour in to make it intense. I then used a clean brush to gently pull a little colour into the outer third of the socket and onto the lid, aiming for a semi-opaque effect. Inside the eye used the new CHANEL Intense Eye pencil in Clair (available in July 2010) to keep the eye open. Once I cleaned up under the eye to avoid muddiness, I applied concealer and then used a tiny amount of the matte black shadow on a small brush and blended away to almost nothing to create a pale grey soft line. Her mascara was CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir with a few shreds of strip lash. Cheeks were CHANEL Powder Blush in Pink Explosion (available in July 2010) and finally, lips were kept light and neutral with CHANEL Rouge Allure Lip Colour in Insouciante.”

Just In: Rose Byrne’s Golden Globes look for Lancôme by celebrity makeup artist Ana Marie. Talking Makeup got the inside scoop on how to get Rose Byrne’s Hollywood Glam makeup look at the Golden Globes Awards tonight.

Ana Marie prepped the skin with Secret de Vie Toner (her favorite!) and then applied Lancôme Bienfait Multi Vital moisturizer to keep skin hydrated and fresh. Lancôme Absolue Foundation in Ecru was applied with a foundation brush and blended with a makeup sponge. This helps the foundation go on evenly and keep the skin looking radiant. To create a sultry smokey eye, Ana Marie used Lancôme Eyeshadow Quad in Innocence Couture.

The Positive shade was swept all over the eyelid and Fashion Scoop and Backstage Pass were blended just to the lash line and smudged. Next, Lancôme Artliner in Noir was used to create a cat line for extra drama. Lancôme Définicils Waterproof Mascara in Black coated the top and bottom lashes. Lancôme Color Design Cream Blush in Petticoat Pink was dabbed on the apples of the cheek and then topped with a powder blush, Lancôme Blush Subtil in Cedar Rose. This technique helps keep the cheek color fresh all day, even with the rain! Shu Uemura Loose Powder in Translucent was dusted on the T-zone to create a matte complexion. Finally, Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Simmer gave Rose her ultra-glossy pout.
