Indian actress Freida Pinto has been on the Mumbai modeling circuit for many years; however, most know her best for her debut film role as Latika in Slumdog Millionaire. Since the highly regarded film was released in 2008, Freida has won an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Palm Springs International Film Festival Award. In addition to these honors, she is also frequently listed in the media as one of the world’s best-dressed and most beautiful people. While Freida often goes with a neutral palette, we absolutely love her makeup in the Indian Vogue photoshoot!

Below is a step-by-step guide to recreating this effortlessly glamorous makeup look with THEVI cosmetics.

Face: The first step to recreating Freida’s look above is to apply your THEVI Liquid Mineral Foundation with SPF 15 as needed to smooth out any flaws, leaving a clean, fresh face. Next, add color to the face with THEVI Mineral Finishing Powder Duo in Mocha Mates. For this particular look, it is best to apply this product in a “3” starting at the middle of the forehead, curving out down to just below the cheekbone, and curving out once more down to the chin. Highlight by adding a touch of the lighter shade right on the cheekbones.

Eyes: Begin by applying a base eye shadow, such as THEVI’s Matte Shadow in Cameo, all over the eyelids from the lashes up to the brow. Second, line the eyes along the upper eyelashes, as well as the area just above the lower eyelashes, from the outer corner to the inner corner with THEVI Automatic Long Lasting Eye Liner in Onyx. Third, apply THEVI Matte Shadow in Dark Brown to the eyelid from the base of the eyelashes up to the crease of the eye, blending the existing eyeliner up into the shadow. Fourth, blend the medium shade of THEVI’s Triple Split Eye Shadow in Bistro over the dark brown shadow, as well as just above the crease to lift the eye. Finish the eyes off with two coats of THEVI Lush Mascara, wiggling from the base of the lashes out to the ends for ultimate length.

Lips: It is essential to finish off the look with a glossy, intense pout. Start by applying a small amount of THEVI Liquid Mineral Foundation with SPF 15 around the outer edges of the lip. Next, play connect the dots with your THEVI Automatic Long-lasting Lip Liner in Port by dotting the two upper points of your top lip, the middle of your bottom lid, the corners of your mouth, then connecting everything in between. Last, apply one coat of THEVI High Impact Lipstick in Drama, then blot and repeat for ultimate wearing power.

Finishing touches: After you’ve recreated this elegant Freida Pinto look, be sure to set it using THEVI’s Mineral Pressed Powder all over the face!

Emmanuelle Chriqui looked stunning as always on the “Entourage” premiere – Chriqui opens up to Women’s Health (www.womenshealthmag.com) in the July/August 2009 issue on her exotic look, challenges she’s faced in her career, and advice on how to embrace being different.

Embracing her uniqueness: “There’s been a massive shift of consciousness. We have an African American president, there’s been a huge influx of Latin talent in mainstream music and film, and there’s a real audience for international films like Slumdog Millionaire. Guess what? The girl next door isn’t necessarily blonde and blue-eyed anymore. So I don’t feel like I need to morph into that All-American thing. Now it’s about accepting who you really are and being proud of that. When you have confidence that’s what becomes attractive to other people and makes them want to work with you and spend time with you.”

Emmanuelle found herself being passed over for roles that went to more conventional-looking actresses: “There have been some incredible things that I’ve lost out on because I don’t fit the {all-American} mold. It can be frustrating.”

After filming Zohan, Chriqui tried to audition for another part and the producer wouldn’t see her: “It was like, ‘NO – not the look we’re going for.’ Period.”

Scrutinizing her exotic appearance: “I’ve thought to myself, ‘What hair color will make my hair look lighter but won’t look weird?’ or ‘Are these contacts I can wear to not come off quite as exotic as I am?”

Emmanuelle’s 7 Ways to be Totally Irresistible, Just Being YOU…1. Don’t freak over so-called imperfections “Never reveal your insecurities to a man, because nine times out of 10 they have no idea they even exist. Most guys are not as observant as women are.” Let the Real You Shine Through

2. Let the real you shine through “For the record: I wear makeup. All. The. Time. But I do it in a way that looks natural. My skin is blotchy, and I’m Mediterranean—I’ve got dark circles. So I need foundation and concealer. One thing I swear by is Armani Silk foundation. It offers coverage, but it breathes, so people never think I’m wearing makeup. For under my eyes, I use Touche Eclat by Yves Saint Laurent, which I love because it’s moisturizing and creamy and blends into my skin without getting cakey. I also wear a bronzer—Cargo and Nars have great sun-kissed colors—just to give a little depth to my cheeks.”

3. Play up your best feature “I would say that my favorite part of my face is my eyes. I have very long lashes, but they’re not thick, so when I apply mascara—I love L’Oreal Voluminous—suddenly my eyes are transformed. It’s cool. I’ve also learned a few eye makeup tricks. For example, highlight your brow bone to give your eyes a more wide-open look. Also, as you’re applying mascara, twirl the brush—from the root [to the ends]—so the color covers the whole lash for a fuller look.”

4. Find a good role model “To me, natural beauty means having a real sense of confidence. I just think that there is something so incredibly sexy about a woman who takes care of herself and doesn’t try to bend to be something she’s not, like Robin Wright Penn, Meryl Streep, and Diane Lane. And Kate Winslet—I mean, my God! She’s gotten even more beautiful with age!”

5. Develop your own sense of style “Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Moss both have great personal style. So does Katie Holmes. It’s risky, but it’s a statement and I like that. In elementary school I was always transforming stuff, like turning the top of [a pair of pantyhose] into a bandeau. It was my way of expressing myself. Now my look is tomboy meets hippie chic. A great pair of jeans, a T-shirt, hoop earrings, and a pair of boots or sandals, and I’m good to go.

“You have to be comfortable in what you’re wearing, because it shows. I know what fits my body and I’m crazy particular about that. Something I’ve been living in: my AG jeans. They’re tight, boot-leg, low-waisted and holey. You can wear them dressed up or dressed down, with running shoes or sandals, whatever. Sometimes I follow trends, like when the skinny-jeans craze was going on, but usually I just do what feels good to me. I’m not afraid when it comes to fashion. If I love the way something looks—whether it’s ethnic, Goth, or ultra sexy—I’m like, let’s do this!”

6. Express yourself with accessories “I love David Yurman rings, but overall, I’m much more into street jewelry. I find the best bangles and the coolest, most gigantic ornate earrings—things that you just don’t see just anywhere else. I’m very even-handed when I jewel myself up. I’ll either wear a serious pair of earrings or a ton of bangles, but not both. Less is more.”

7. Be brave in your beliefs “My spirituality happens to be a big part of my life. For example, I believe that we’re constantly surrounded by energy; things we don’t see that guide us. So I go to a healer who uses, among other things, essential oils to align my chakras [centers of energy, according to Indian medicine]. I think if you are open to this, it can be transformative; I’ve actually seen it in my own life. Of course, here [in California], this kind of stuff isn’t considered all that weird. Still, I’ve had somebody very close to me belittle my journey. It was really difficult because I felt as though they were rejecting a really big part of me—but, you know, it didn’t make me waver for a moment.”

The announcement comes on the eve of the Opening Ceremony of the 62nd Cannes Festival and reiterates L’Oréal Paris’ commitment to the great stars of film.

Read more: FREIDA PINTO, EVANGELINE LILLY, ELIZABETH BANKS. New Spokespeople for L’Oréal Paris.

A couple of hours before the Opening Ceremony of the 62nd Cannes Festival, Freida PINTO and Evangeline LILLY are joining Elizabeth BANKS as the newest World Spokespeople for L’ORÉAL PARIS. BANKS was recently introduced in the United States as a new L’Oréal Paris spokesperson in December 2008.

“On the eve of the Cannes Festival, to which I want to reiterate our attachment, L’Oréal Paris is delighted that these great stars of world cinema have agreed to represent our brand,” states Jean-Jacques Lebel, President L’Oréal Consumer Products.

The sublime FREIDA PINTO was discovered by Danny Boyle in SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, the film that won eight Oscars. After Julian Schnabel’s movie which she is currently shooting, she will be filming this summer in Woody Allen’s next film, as part of an impressive cast. “I am very moved to be joining the great L’Oréal Paris family and all these personalities: a family I am now proud to be a part of” says Freida.

EVANGELINE LILLY came to our notice in LOST. Her character “Kate” also won her a nomination for the 2007 Golden Globe Awards as Best Actress in a Drama Series. For her first venture into films, she co-stars with John Malkovich and Romain Duris in an adaptation of Guillaume Musso’s novel AFTERWARDS. Evangeline is a politically committed actress. When she was very young she was drawn to humanitarian projects, and then founded a committee for the world development of Human Rights at university. She travels all over the world on behalf of this cause, and says, “It is a source of great pride for me to represent a brand whose ambition is to respond to every person’s aspirations to beauty, and contribute to the fulfilment and well-being of everyone.” Evangeline Lilly will have just come from Rwanda, where she is engaged in a humanitarian mission, when she joins L’Oréal Paris for the first time on the steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

ELIZABETH BANKS, who was recently announced in the United States as a L’Oréal Paris spokesperson in December 2008, is one of the most versatile actresses in Hollywood, as witness her full list of achievements in the last year. She appeared in Oliver Stone’s W, a film where she played the First Lady Laura Bush, as well as the comedy ROLE MODELS. Banks has recently signed on to star in THE DETAILS opposite James McAvoy. Through her company Brownstone Productions, she will produce and star in the Universal comedy FOREVER 21 and upcoming will also star in WHAT WERE WE THINKING opposite Leslie Mann. Among her credits are SEABISCUIT, 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. “I am so honoured to be one of the newest L’Oréal Paris Spokesperson and to join such a distinguished group of women who proudly say the iconic phrase ‘Because You’re Worth It,’” states Banks. “What impresses me most about L’Oréal is the company’s commitment to empowering women. L’Oréal wants women everywhere to not only take charge of their beauty, but to also take control of their health and well being”.

Vianney Derville, International General Manager of L’Oréal Paris says: “I am proud that all these actresses are now our World Spokespeople, alongside other L’Oréal Paris spokespeople including Penélope Cruz, Beyoncé Knowles, Eva Longoria, Andie MacDowell, Aishwarya Rai and Kerry Washington. We are delighted to welcome them as representatives of L’Oréal Paris. We have been completely won over by their rising careers as actresses, together with their attachment to the values of humanity and diversity.”

L’Oréal Paris has once again surrounded itself with exceptional personalities who represent the brand’s values. As artists highly involved with the world of today, they embody a new generation of actors with an immense amount of talent and commitment.
