My latest must-have makeup find my loves…is the limited edition Make Up For Ever La Boheme Eye Shadow Palette which can be applied dry, or also with a moistened foam tip (which BTW haven’t tried yet because I’m a busy girl and opt for the quicker dry option).

Makeup Make Up For Ever makeup for Spring 2012

L to R: Lagoon Green, Vegetal Green, Beige, Parma Purple, Brown, Coral

The pigment is a bit sheer yet dramatic enough and shimmers. Another great thing about this palette is the all the shades are very practical and wearable and long wearing. My favorite shade so far is the Brown.

I like to line by bottom lashes with the NEW Make Up For Ever La Boheme Aqua Eyes in dark brown, also a limited edition. It’s long wearing and gives me that softer smoky eye look. I must say, I’m a smoky eye addict. I don’t feel as powerful without it:)

Both products mentioned will be available in Sephora.com and Make Up For Ever Boutiques from February 2012.

TM & Marta Walsh has got the word that…celebrity makeup artist Kayleen McAdams worked with Lea Michele at the Los Angeles premiere of American Horror Story on Monday, October 3rd, 2011. Beauty Inspiration: “The focus of the look was the blue smoky eye and healthy, glowing skin.

Lea Michele At The Los Angeles Premiere of American Horror Story

How To Get Lea Michele’s Makeup Look:

“For a healthy, glowing look, I prepped Lea’s skin with Shu Uemura Instant Glow Cream. I then used Cle De Peau Foundation all over the skin, Bobbi Brown Concealer where needed, and Kevyn Aucoin Highlighter in Candlelight. I contoured her cheeks with Nars Blush in Luster, a sheer golden apricot color.

I wanted to create a smoky eye, but with a modern twist, using blues. On the lids I used Dior Eyeshadow in Smoky Navy, and lined the eyes with CHANEL Long Lasting Eyeliner in Marine. To make the eyes pop, I applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, a deep, rich black. Finally, we kept the lips neutral, using Nars Lipstick in Blonde Venus, topped with a bit of CHANEL Glossimer in Futile.”

Actress Jessica Szohr looked beautiful at the 2010 Breakthrough of the Year Awards where she won for “Breakthrough Actress in Film”. mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh shares with Talking Makeup and Marta Walsh how she created Jessica’s sultry red carpet makeup look.

How To Get Jessica Szohr’s Makeup At The Breakthrough of the Year Awards by mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh using mark Cosmetics:

Face

“For Jessica’s face, I first applied mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 all over her skin to create a nice base. Next, I followed by applying mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Golden using the mark Foundation Brush to create an even skin tone.

To cover any redness or under-eye circles, I dabbed on mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Medium/Deep, and set the look with mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation in Golden. I then used the mark Angled Contour Face Brush to dust mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Bronze to her cheeks, forehead and chin to warm up her face. To give her a slight flush, I added mark Good Glowing Custom Pick Powder Blush in Sun Love Glo to the apples of her cheeks.”

Eyes

“I really wanted to emphasize Jessica’s dark eyes so we created a heavy, smoky eye. I prepped her eyelids with the mark Please Hold Eye Primer in Medium/Dark followed with a dusting of mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Gioia and Corset using the mark All Over Eye Shadow Brush. Next, I blended the shadows upwards into the crease with the mark Angled Contour Eye Shadow Brush and then used the mark Hook Up Eye Shadow Brush to smudge mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Corset along her top and bottom lash line. I then rimmed her eyes with mark No Place to Run Eyeliner Pencil in Jet Set since I needed something super longwearing that wouldn’t smear once I applied. I finished off her eye look with two coats of mark Make It Big Mascara in Raven.”

Lips

“For her lips I used mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Malt. I love how creamy these new lipsticks are!”

Celebrity Makeup Artist Mary Phillips created the beautiful makeup look for Elizabeth Arden spokesperson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, at the 2010 Tony Awards on June 13th, 2010.
Last night at the 2010 Tony Awards, Scarlett Johansson won Best Actress in a Play for her Broadway debut role in “A View From The Bridge.” Johannson’s makeup artist Gianpaolo Ceciliato created a romantic and feminine make up look for the occasion using Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up.

Marta Walsh says: “Scarlett Johansson’s purple eye shadow eye makeup look was done so perfectly. The look was a good surprise, new, fresh, and trend setting. Well done Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up”.

How to get Scarlett Johansson’s purple eye makeup look:

First, Ceciliato lined Scarlett’s inner and outer eye lids with The Eyeliner in Dahlia. Next, he blended the purple shadow from the Eyeshadow Duo in Dazzling and the pink shadow from The Eyeshadow Duo in Guilty on eyelids. To complete the eye look, Gionpaolo applied several coats of The Mascara in black on top and bottom lashes.

To complement the smoky eye, Gionpaolo kept the rest of the face natural by applying a bit of The Blush in Provocative on the upper portion of Johannson’s cheeks and The Classic Cream Lipstick in Nude on her lips.

Last night, celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine created a beautiful “Modern 30’s Glam” look for supermodel IMAN. Below, Sam shares the product he used to create this iconic look.

SKIN: Every look that walks the red carpet begins with flawless skin. I start by using Iman’s Second to None Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup Enriched with Minerals (in shade 2) to highlight and conceal the under eye area. Then I uses Iman’s Second to None Stick Foundation in the same shade to achieve a flawless complexion that not only looks great on the red carpet, but lasts though the night!

SKIN: After using Iman’s Semi-Loose Powder Enriched with Minerals (in Earth Medium) to set foundation, I dust bronzer near the hairline and sweep onto cheeks to add a luminous glow to the skin. Bronzer also takes the place of blush and can be worn both day and night!

EYES: A smoky eye is one of Iman’s favorite eye statements! I begin creating a smoky eye statement by using a dark shadow nearest the lashline and bringing it up past the crease of the eye, then using the same dark shadow underneath the eye to add drama and definition. Topping this off with a shimmering gold shadow on the browbone and lining the inner rim of the eye in black for added drama. And no red carpet face is complete without false lashes and a couple of coats of mascara! Iman Cosmetics Luxury Eye Defining Powders in Black Magic, Vixen & Bewitched are great for adding shimmer to the eye area.

LIPS: I wanted to dress each feature of the face, so I lined the mouth with a deep brown pencil and filled in the lip with a bourdeaux shade of lipstick, Iman Cosmetic’s Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in WildThing, to make the look sensuous, striking, and oh, so sexy!

Make up artist and MAKE UP FOR EVER ALLIANCE member James Vincent created Joan Jett’s sultry make up look for the New York premiere of “The Runaways”.

The Look and Inspiration: True to Joan Jett’s rock n’ roll roots, she rocked a classic yet modern smoky eye. According to James Vincent, who used MAKE UP FOR EVER products to get Joan’s red carpet look, “the perfect Joan Jett eye takes subtlety, persistence and an understanding of what’s sexy.”

Makeup Tutorial: How to get Joan Jett’s makeup look

Complexion: James kept the skin glowing and gorgeous with MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Elixir to add moisture to and perfect the skin. He then applied a small amount of MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation #117, which provided a great canvas, as well as the new HD Invisible Cover Concealer for light, luminous, natural coverage, and a touch of HD Microfinish Powder to keep Joan looking polished all night.

Joan Jett’s makeup face chart by MAKE UP FOR EVER

Eyes: “The eyes are Joan’s most famous feature and she knows exactly what she wants to do to draw attention but still keep the look modern and fashionable,” says Vincent. Start with MAKE UP FOR EVER Eye Shadow #35 from brow to lash to create the perfect base. Next, sweep MAKE UP FOR EVER Diamond Powder #11 gets across the brow bone for a beautiful highlight, and MAKE UP FOR EVER Eye Shadow #13 to bring depth to the crease. Use the same shadow to line the top and bottom lashes for soft diffusion of the liner, which gives depth and drama and keeps the hard-edged liner look smoky and sexy. MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Eyes #0L is the perfect black pencil to apply inside the eye and along the top and bottom lash lines. Then, apply a bit of Aqua Eyes #2L to add a rich, brown warmth to the look and keep it from looking hard and typical. Smudge the pencil and set with MAKE UP FOR EVER Eye Shadow #139 for even more smokiness that works for every occasion. Lashes get extra attention with a liberal coating of MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash. And James says, “put the lash curler down and let the lashes stay straight and spiky for rock chick realness.”

Cheeks: Joan’s classic cheekbones are the type you wish you were born with, but can easily fake by contouring right below the bone from temple to apple with MAKE UP FOR EVER Eye Shadow #13. Keep blush natural by avoiding strong color. Just use a touch of Powder Blush #69 on the apple and Matte Bronze #2 at the highest point of the cheek bone give life and light to the makeup and balance off the strong eye.

Lips: MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip pencil #3C gives every girl the ability to keep their lips looking luscious without worrying about where it’s going to end up. A touch of MAKE UP FOR EVER Fascinating Lip Gloss #9 in the center of the mouth completes the look and lets everyone know you love rock n’ roll as much as Joan.

“The Runaways” opened on Friday, March 19th, 2010, in select cities, and opens nationwide on April 9th, 2010. And, Joan’s new album, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Greatest Hits, came out last week.
