Here’s one look of show that’s standing out amidst all the bold, urban, and even vampire-inspired beauty trends we’ve seen at Fall 2010 Fashion Week: Lela Rose looked up to the sky, the moon, and the stars for the beauty inspiration of her fall 2010 fashion show.

Makeup artist Tina Turnbow for Beauty.com created a moonlight smokey eye effect using a shimmery dark gray eye shadow (from the Tarte Eye Couture Palette). “The color looks like the midnight sky and the irridesence is reminiscent of the stars,” she says. “The shape of the eye shadow is spherical because it goes well into the inner corners, which makes it look round like a planet and opens up the eye.” Even the lip has a celestial twist. “It’s a cloudy sheer white gloss,” says Turnbow. The models’ nails were painted with Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe nail polish, a midnight blue with lots of sparkle–another nod to the sky and the stars.
Red carpet beauty scoop: Get the look of Mary-Louise Parker at the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Mary-Luise makeup look was created by Makeup Artist: Tina Turnbow for Maybelline New York.

Stepping onto the red carpet in a single strapped, deep purple Zac Posen dress – Mary-Louise Parker was ready to shine at the Emmy’s! Tina was inspired by the deep purple and indigo tones in Mary-Louise’s dress, and her gorgeous gunmetal grey accessories. To play up the colors in Mary-Louise’s dress, Tina brought out her best features with a dramatic yet classic smoky eye, blushing pink cheeks and nude lips.

Face: Because Mary-Louise has beautiful porcelain skin, Tina kept her face looking pristine by applying Maybelline New York Dream Liquid Mousse in Classic Ivory – with touches of Maybelline New York Dream Mousse Concealer in Light under the eyes and to the tops of the cheeks to give a contoured look.

Cheeks: To compliment her ivory skin, Tina brushed on Maybelline New York Mineral Power Naturally Luminous Blush in Gentle Pink to the apples of the cheeks to give the look of a soft natural flush.

Eyes: Tina’s inspiration for Mary-Louise’s entire look was the gorgeous opal-toned smoky eye she created with Maybelline New York Expert Wear Stylish Smokes in Amethyst Smokes. Tina used all four shades in the palette to play up her eyes and add drama; the deep purples complemented her creamy skin and dark hair. She then followed with Maybelline New York Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner in Black on the upper and lower lash lines. To showcase the gorgeous jewel tones of the shadows, Tina only applied one coat of Maybelline New York Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara in Very Black. Pulse Perfection

Lips: For a barely-there, neutral lip, Tina lined the entire mouth with Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Liner in Toast. She then followed up with Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick in Nearly There.

Body: To complete the look, a soft dusting of Maybelline New York Mineral Power Illuminator in Nude was brushed along her collar bones, arms and legs for a red carpet glow.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Report: Makeup artist Tina Turnbow used Nyx Professional Makeup to create makeup looks for Whitney Port’s new clothing line, Whitney Eve, giving the models a playful, “Alice in Wonderland”-inspired look as they walked down the runway

Here’s how you can get the look:

Doll Play: Big lashes are the look for Spring. Tina used Nyx Professional Makeup’s Doll Eye Mascara in Volume to create, big open eyes. For extra definition, the model’s eyes were lined with Nyx Professional Makeup’s Felt Tip Eyeliner in Black, with a sexy cat-eye swoop.

Candy-Colored Eyes: For eyes that popped on the runway, Tina created a colorful, fresh look using Nyx Professional Makeup’s Single Eyeshadows in three steps:

1) Eyelid – Sweep the White Pearl shadow up to the crease to make eyes pop
2) Crease – Use the Golden shade to highlight and add shimmer
3) Contour – Add definition above the crease to the brow bone with shadow in Burgundy Pearl

Get Cheeky: For a youthful, flushed pink cheek, Tina mixed Nyx Professional Makeup’s Rouge Cream Blush in Glow and Hot Pink to apples and contours of the cheek

Bright Lips: To set off the playful look, Tina selected Nyx Professional Makeup’s Black Label Lipstick in Volcano – a bright, sunny coral shade.

The night before the big Orphan premiere, Vera Farmiga visited the ARCONA facial studio in Santa Monica and received their signature Facial Contouring & Enzyme Peel – her skin glowed.

Vera Farmiga’s makeup look was created by celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow Inspired by Vera’s gorgeous ivory Versace gown and her beautiful glowing skin, Tina created a soft look using gold and peach tones, with a shot of orange on her lips.

Skin: Tina prepped Vera’s skin by first cleansing it with ARCONA’s Triad Pads. She then spritzed ARCONA’s Mineral Magic and applied ARCONA’s Peptide Hydrating Complex to hydrate her skin thoroughly. “I loved using ARCONA’s Mineral Magic on Vera’s skin. It gave it a nice luminescent quality!” said Tina.

Foundation: Because Vera’s skin had a natural glow, Tina kept the coverage to a minimum by using ARCONA’s Sunsations Mineral Makeup in Ivory Seychelles.

Cheeks: Tina used Tarte Cheek Stain in Tipsy to add light peach tones to her skin.

Undereye: Tina dabbed a bit of ARCONA’s Eye Dew to retain moisture. Eyeshadow & Liner: Tina created a dewy eye using gold and brown with Nars Duo Eye Shadow in Star Sailor. She then softly defined her eyes with Almay Blendable Eye Pencil in brown.

Mascara: For seductively lush and lengthy lashes, Tina applied Prescriptives Lash Envy mascara in brown.

Lips: Tina added a dash of color with a matte lip by Nars in Heat Wave.

All products are available at Beauty.com

About Tina Turnbow: No two faces are precisely alike, and each — whether belonging to an actor, socialite, model, editor, or bride — possesses a set of unique features that are meant to be illuminated, rather than wiped away. This is the belief that drives Tina Turnbow’s work as a makeup artist, and which has made her one of the most sought-after talents in the industry today. Tina has created looks for publications including Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Nylon. She also works with an ever-expanding list of celebrities including Leslie Mann, Ellen Page and Mary Louise Parker, among many others.

The look for Abaete’s Fall 2009 collection created by Tina Turnbow with Tarte started with fresh skin. Caudalie’s beauty elixir and lip conditioner hydrated skin prior to makeup application. The makeup was natural, no makeup-makeup. Tarte’s ReCreate gave even color and coverage to the face. Brows were softened by wax from the toolbox brow kit and topped by provocateur mineral powder. Liquid Sunshine added a hint of shine on the lids, rejuvalash defined lashes, and Blushing Bride cheek stain, applied sparingly, added the slightest hint of color on lips and cheeks.

Here is a great post by my friend Erika Valente, the editor of Makeup Bag , from the Charlotte Ronson’s Spring 2009 Runway Show. Charlotte Ronson is the twin sister of Samantha Ronson who is rumored to be Lindsay Lohan’s girlfriend.

Here it is: Charlotte Ronson’s Spring 2009 Runway Show was highlighted by front row occupants Samantha Ronson (Charlotte’s twin sister) and girlfriend Lindsay Lohan. Additional Ronson’s on hand were little sis Annabelle (who walked the runway) and brother Mark (the show’s DJ).

While this event seemed to be a Ronson family affair, our eyes were on Beauty.com ‘s makeup artist Tina Turnbow and the look she created backstage with Tarte .

Inspired by Madonna’s Lucky Star meets grunge, Tina Turnbow was able to achieve the look with Tarte products such as the toolbox: brow know-how eyebrow kit , green machine eye shadow, provocateur pressed mineral powder with SPF 8 and 24/7 lip sheer with SPF 15 in tea time.

While we’re on the subject of Tarte-if you haven’t tried Tarte cheek stain in tipsy , you must do so immediately!
