NEW YORK—Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury wanted the models at Victoria Beckham’s Spring 2012 show to look “handsome” and “sporty”. Charlotte created fresh, glowing skin with shading and highlighting to contour the face. For the eyes, Lancôme Liner Design in Bronze Couture was mixed with Absolue Bx moisturizer and applied to the crease and then topped with Juicy Tubes in Pure for a glossy finish. Lips were muted with a dab of concealer. Groomed, slightly arched eyebrows gave the look a feminine edge.

Redken Creative Consultant Guido created a unique pulled back style that was sleek and sophisticated in the front yet girly with a natural in the back, perfectly reflecting the aesthetic of Victoria’s Beckham’s Spring/Summer 2012 modern, chic collection.

New York Fashion Week: Victoria Beckham Spring/Summer 2012

“I needed to break the clean, sleek lines in the front to modernize the look, so I created a rough matte texture in the back. The key is to make it look effortless, which I did by using two distinct textures in one look. Some find it difficult to wear their face so exposed, but the boldness and austerity of the forehead in this look is what makes it beautiful.”–Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

Redken Products Used:

- Hardwear 16 super strength sculpting gel

- Guts 10 root targeted volume spray foam

- Glass 01 smoothing serum

- Forceful 23 super strength finishing spray

How To Create the Look:

- Starting with dry hair, comb back a 4-5 inch top section from the forehead to the crown and comb a generous amount of hardwear 16 super strength sculpting gel into the whole section. Clip the end of the section up out of the way.

- Apply guts 10 root targeted volume spray foam through the remainder of the hair until evenly distributed and damp with the product.

- Clip the front section at the crown back with a metal bar clip and then coat the top section with glass 01 smoothing serum for a lacquered finish.

- Let the hair air dry or rough dry with a blow dryer and then add forceful 23 super strength finishing spray for texture, concentrating on the sides so that no stray hairs are around the face.

The thrilled mommy-to-be, along with her celebrity guests including, Eva Longoria, Selma Blair, Demi Moore, Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie fully embraced the party’s pink theme by decorating their hair with pink Jasmine flowers. One of Victoria’s favorite gifts honoring the party’s theme was ECOYA’s beautiful Sweet Pea & Jasmine home fragrance collection.”

NEW YORK—The models at Victoria Beckham’s Fall 2011 presentation resembled beautiful space age equestrians with their futuristic and glowy makeup by Charlotte Tilbury.

The faces, luminous and contoured, were perfectly framed by the black hair caps. Charlotte used two products in a straightforward manner. The new Star Bronzer Natural Matte Bronzing Powder was applied along the cheekbones and on the temples. Modèle Sourcils Brow Groomer in the clear shade, which she declared the best eyebrow gel she’s ever used, kept the brows brushed up and in place. The other products were mixed together to get the exact texture and color Charlotte desired. Here are her formulas:

—Foundation = Teint Miracle Lit-From-Within Foundation + Eclat Miracle Complexion Illuminator (mixed together and applied with a foundation brush)

—Gold highlighter = the gold shadow from Color Design 5 Shadow and Liner Palette in Jade Fever + Éclat Miracle Complexion Illuminator (used above the cheekbones, down the nose and above the cupid’s bow)

—Nude matte lipstick = L’Absolu Rouge La Base lip treatment + Teint Miracle Instant Retouch Pen (mixed together for a sheer, creamy, matte lip)

—Bronzy eyeshadow = Color Design 5 Shadow and Liner Palette in Taupe Craze + Aquatique Waterproof Eye Color Base (Charlotte mixed the four darkest shades with the base to create a cream eyeshadow)

The hair and nails were customized too. Hairstylist Guido Palau fashioned the sleek hair coverings from two American Apparel headbands and a wig cap. The Butter London nail team customized colors so that each model had a shade to match her skin tone for a mannequin hands finish.

New York Fashion Week SS 2011. Designer: Victoria Beckham. Makeup by Lancôme.

Victoria Beckham presented her spring 2011 collection of supremely feminine and beautifully constructed dresses today. Vivid colors, from mandarin yellow to cotton candy pink, punctuated the collection, and exposed zippers, gentle draping and tucked and pleated details on parachute silk, jersey and lamé lent the collection that signature Victoria Beckham style.

The makeup, by Charlotte Tilbury, was equally vivid. She and Victoria drew inspiration from Andy Warhol’s colorful portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. For eyes, this meant a block of purple shadow up to the brows. Charlotte layered two purple Color Design Eye Shadows—Trendy and Drama—to get the desired finish. She lined the entire upper lashline with Artliner in Noir, complete with a “flick” at each end, and lined the lower lashline with black pencil. Hypnôse Custom Volume Mascara on the top and bottom lashes finished the eyes. Brows were left natural.

For lips, Charlotte used L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Rich Cashmere for the gingery pink color she wanted, and topped that with a thick layer of Juicy Tubes in Pure, a clear gloss, for a dramatically lacquered look. The skin was super dewy, achieved with just foundation and highlighter. Charlotte swept the new Teint Miracle foundation over the entire face. Éclat Miracle Serum (a new liquid highlighter) was dabbed along the cheekbone and up the temple in a backwards C-shape. She didn’t use any blush or powder.

The opaque bubble gum pink nails were done by Nonie Creme for Butter London. The hair, by Didier Malige for Fekkai, was long and stick straight, with an unexpected crimp across the back.

New York Fashion Week SS 2011. Show: Victoria Beckham Spring Summer 2011. Didier Malige, lead stylist for Frédéric Fekkai, was inspired by hairstyles of the 60’s—without the tease—for the Spring 2011 Victoria Beckham show.

To create the look, Malige first prepped dry hair with Fekkai Advanced Full Volume Styling Whip to give hair slick volume. Then, Malige created a middle part and tucked the hair straight behind the ears and spritzed with Fekkai Sheer Hold Spray to make the hair more straight and heavy. He finished the look by using a waiving tool to make an unexpected single crimp across the back of the hair. The result was a modern take on a mod era.

L to R: Victoria Beckham, Ken Paves, Jessica Simpson, and Heidi Klum

The Hair Tutorial by Ken Paves: “Victoria is a gorgeous woman and wears her short hair well! It always looks so effortless, yet elegant and modern. For the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, we enhanced the volume but kept it sleek.

On her damp hair, I first sprayed my Volumizing Spray (Ken Paves Healthy Hair Volumizing Spray, $22: Ulta) all over and blow dried (Ken Paves Hair Dryer, $100: Ulta) with a vent brush for shape and volume. I created a part in the middle, and tucked her hair behind her ears, enhancing the shine with a touch of shine serum. Then, keeping her longer bangs in the front, I simply pulled them to each side for some added dimension. She looked amazing!”
