Lead Artist Diane Kendal for NARS Cosmetics created the look for the Thakoon Fall 2011 runway show. Makeup Trend: Tribal eyes and muted lips.

INSPIRATION: "The collection draws inspiration from the opulence of the Rococo period and the style of the Masai tribe in Africa," said designer Thakoon Panichgul. "There are a lot of primary colors, but also gorgeous marabou feathers, so we wanted to create a balance to everything to ensure it was really believable. We've always done fresh, pretty, natural, and it was time for a strong makeup look."

LOOK: "With Thakoon's references to this idea of tribal opulence, I felt that if we were going to do "color" it would have to be focused on the eye with one central color theme, and nothing else. There was a lot of youth in the group of models, so we wanted to keep the look very fresh. Red was a natural choice, complimenting the use of color throughout the collection"
