How to get Lady Gaga’s Masculine or androgonous hair look a seen in Italian Vogue:

“Masculine or androgonous hair on girls is really on trend, particularly if you mix femininity into the outfit,” says former Southern hairdresser of the year Rae Palmer. “Mixing the two can give a really individual look.

Keep the hair in a strong classic shape, the cut tailored and classic barbering techniques such as scissor over comb particularly as an undercut will enhance the look. In terms of styling quiffs and 50’s inspired rolls are fab adding quirkiness to the look. If you’re wearing a man’s suit I love clean chignons and the hair gelled back into a wet look and tucked behind the ear if shorter, keeping the hair clean and very sophisticated.”

Karine Jackson of Karine Jackson in Covent Garden suggests: “For the masculine look, the key is in the sides of your hair. You can achieve this with short or long hair, but the sides should be flat to the head slicked back. You can then work the top into a quiff, curl it or have it hanging straight down. To get the sides sitting best comb gel through as this will also give great texture. For the quiff, back comb at the roots and smooth into the back. This can also be adapted to long hair, working the quiff into a pony tail. To work curl in the side slicked back, scrunch the hair left out; this will give a real teddy boy look.”
