Skincare for the Best Makeup
Here are my very easy steps to prepare your skin for that perfect makeup look. Skincare and makeup are overlapping worlds. Getting the right balance of the two can make a huge difference in the way your makeup looks. Caring for your skin the right way and using the right beauty products for sensitive skin, like those from Simple skincare, can give you that wow factor.
1. Wash your face in warm water: whether you like to wash your face in the sink or in the shower like me warm water open up your pores and makes skin soft in an instant. And don’t wait for the water to dry out after you wet it. Apply a moisturizer like Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer, which moisturizes all day long, when your skin is still damp. I don’t towel dry my face. I keep it wet as I get dressed. Yes, you are learning more about me.
2. Get rid of flakey dry skin by exfoliating: nothing sexy about applying a foundation or a face powder on flaky skin. Like I always say, if that happens shut it down and stat all over again. I use Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub to gently exfoliate my skin.
3. Skip face cleanser at times and add Toner: Sometimes when my skin has already been exfoliated the day before and it’s in a good condition, and especially if I cleansed my skin the night before, I skip a face cleanser in the morning. Yes you heard me. I replaced it with a good toner. Wet a cotton pad with Simple Soothing Facial Toner and apply to face to refresh and wake up your skin.
4. Less is more: make sure to not smear your face with too much face cream then try to wipe it off, which involves more touching and rubbing your skin. Apply the perfect amount and dab gently. There’s nothing worse than applying and de-applying creams or makeup over and over. It irritates my skin and my makeup application becomes a nightmare, ha!
5. Get a good night’s sleep: no skincare or makeup can save you if you are not well rested and somewhat in a good mood 🙂 My skin is always at its best when I have a good and happy sleep.
