TM just got the word about the stateside launch of international makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup collection. The line will launch online first next week, September 2, and then Charlotte is partnering up with Bergdorf Goodman in New York and Nordstrom in Los Angeles at The Grove for MASSIVE launch events in early October, and rolling out in major regional markets with Nordstrom through November.
Charlotte is considered one of the biggest makeup artists in the world. She counts Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, Sienna Miller, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Gisele, Rihanna, Natalie Portman, Eva Mendes and more as clients, and is beloved by industry insiders from models to photographers and designers who all consider Charlotte their go-to. Charlotte has built her brand upon an empowering message for women that stems from her own personal mantra: “give a woman the right makeup and she can conquer the world.” She’s a believer in the power of makeup and how it can change your life—after discovering mascara at 13, she built the confidence and belief in herself to make up her own destiny and write her own future.
“Beauty is not an exclusive club – there are no unattractive women, just some that don’t know the power of make-up,” says Charlotte Tilbury. “I was shocked to find out that 50% of women do not engage with make-up and the reasons are: they don’t know how to use it, they don’t know what suits them, they don’t have the time. I wanted to revolutionize the retail experience for these women. Even as a professional makeup artist, I walk onto the Beauty Hall floor and want to run in the opposite direction. There’s so much choice and so little direction, help and problem-solving and I wanted to set my brand apart from this.”
Charlotte has taken the wealth of knowledge she’s amassed thanks to her 20+ years in the industry to create a range of skincare and cosmetic products based on Hollywood icons and celebrities to take the guesswork out of shopping the makeup counter. All of her products treat and transform, so they have skin benefits whilst making you look beautiful.
To make the counter experience easier on consumers, Charlotte created 10 signature looks which are the iconic looks she recreates time and again on celebrity clients such as Kate, Penelope, Gisele and Rihanna. These looks are inspired by past beauty icons (Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Bo Derek) and their modern day counterparts. While you can purchase products individually, you can also walk up to the counter and purchase a full look (e.g. The Rock Chick or The Uptown Girl) and get all the products you need to deliver coordinated eyes, cheeks and lips – so that choosing and creating an expertly finished look is totally seamless.
