Diesel Fragrances Hosts Art Gallery To Celebrate The Launch Of Only The Brave

On April 30th, Diesel Fragrances hosted an art gallery to celebrate the launch of Only The Brave fragrance for men and helped to discover what it means to be brave.

Diesel celebrated bravery with the debut of a pop-up exhibit at OpenHouse Gallery dedicated to exploring the nerve it takes to be brave. Featuring selected pieces by the Keystone Design Union (KDU), the exhibit took inspiration from the same forces as Diesel’s latest fragrance: Only The Brave.

The exhibit provided a visual representation of courage, determination and nerve behind Only The Brave, creating a multi-sensory experience that evoked the spirit of the fragrance.

Featured artists include:
• Illustrator/Fine Artist Sandra Chi, showed 10 highly detailed hand-drawn illustrations created over the course of three weeks spent entirely inside the KDU’s Brooklyn Studio

• Illustrator and Ecuador native Edgar Gonzalez, adapted his iconic cityscape aesthetic to the theme of bravery
Bob Partington, showed his first work in the U.S.-including a 9′ by 12′ typographic sculpture-since his exile from the United States four years ago
• Design studio AMT, founded by Alissia Melka-Teichroew, recreated a highly regarded piece entitled Medal of Honor on a large scale

• African-American albino model Shaun Ross, participated in a portrait series with photographer Eric Vogel to showcase the elements of bravery as they relate to race and explored the nuance of ethnicity in America today
• KDU founders David Gensler and Aerosyn Lex, exemplified bravery with the creation of a 120-piece interlocking mosaic of birch wood incorporating original calligraphic artwork and letterforms to spell the word “bravery”

The KDU members behind the exhibit were on hand to discuss their work and how it brought the new scent to life. Photographer Merlin Bronques of Last Night’s Party was on the scene to shoot New York’s elite as they celebrated the launch of Only the Brave and experienced the essence of the fragrance as expressed through art.
