Beijing, China, November 22, 2010 – Liu Wen made her official debut as an Estée Lauder global spokesmodel in Beijing to launch the new Pure Color makeup collection. Joined by Estée Lauder executives Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Global Brand President, Aerin Lauder, Senior Vice President, Creative Director and Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Liu Wen was honored as the brand’s latest spokesmodel at a major launch event at the prestigious Ch’ianmen 23 in Central Beijing. She was also feted at a private dinner hosted by Vogue China, before holding interviews with international and Chinese media.
In honor of Liu Wen’s visit to China for Estée Lauder, Tom Pecheux created an exclusive limited edition collection of makeup products. Pure Color Metamorphosis evokes the unspoken glamour and strength of the modern Chinese woman and was unveiled with an advertising image of Liu Wen created specifically for China. The ad, shot by world-renowned photographer Craig McDean, features a makeup look by Tom Pecheux including glistening pastel eye shades and a pink crystalline lip, combined with hair accessories of black lacquered butterflies to reveal Liu Wen as the image of delicate sophistication.
Liu Wen was announced as the new global face of Estée Lauder in April 2010. She is the first Chinese model the brand has signed and joins Constance Jablonski from France, Elizabeth Hurley from the UK and Carolyn Murphy and Hilary Rhoda from the United States.
