Rachel McAdams 2011 Cannes
Marta Walsh has the scoop about Rachel McAdams makeup looks created for her appearances at 2011 Cannes. Makeup artist Kayleen McAdams worked with Rachel McAdams at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival.
Rachel McAdam’ Makeup Look at Midnight in Paris Premiere, May 11, 2011. Inspiration: “For the Midnight in Paris photo call, the dress was very youthful and fun. We knew we were focusing on the eyes and skin for the premiere, so we chose to do a bright fun lip.”
How To Get the look: “I used a Cle de Peau Cream Foundation all over as a base, and Amazing Concealer in a few areas, to help create a flawless complexion. I finished the face with MAC Pressed Powder, for a matte effect. On her brows I used Anastasia Brow Powder. On Rachel’s eyes, I used NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Silk Road, a duo of beautiful pink and rose gold shades. Mascara was CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion in Very Black – to make her eyes pop. I used NARS Blush in Mata Hari for a bright pink, rosy cheek. Finally, we wanted the lip to be the focus of the look, so we chose Stila Convertible Color in Fuchsia – a fun, bright pink fuchsia lip stain.”
Rachel McAdam’ Makeup Look at Restless Premiere (and Sleeping Beauty premiere, I hear they were screened at the same tome), May 12, 2011. Inspiration: “I am always inspired to do a metallic sheen when the weather is so humid and warm and skin is already moist and glowing. For this look I replicated the metallic tones in her bustier and bracelets using antique taupe and silver tones on the eye. To keep the look youthful, I chose a bright deep raspberry for the lips and we kept that the only point of color for the entire look.”
Get the Look: “On Rachel’s face, I applied Cle De Peau Foundation and MAC Pressed Powder for a flawless complexion. I then used bit of YSL Touche Eclat to conceal and highlight. I lined her eyes with Dior Crayon Eyeliner in Elegant Taupe, a light shimmery bronze shade, and used Anastasia Brow Powder to shape and define the brows. For the lids, I used NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Indian Summer, a pretty combo of champagne and mustard colored shadows. I applied two generous coats of CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Very Black on top lashes, and on the bottom lashes, I used Clinique Bottom Lashes Mascara. This is a new product with a very small brush, perfect to grasp those tiny bottom lashes. We kept her cheeks light and neutral with NARS Blush in Lustre, a sheer golden apricot shade. For a bit of added glow, I used Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer #2. Finally, I lined Rachel’s lips with MAC Lipliner in Beet, and applied Elizabeth Arden Crystal Clear Lipgloss.”
