Julie Bowen At The 2011 American Music Awards
Julie Bowen (Modern Family) stepped onto the red carpet at the American Music Awards, at the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, CA, Sunday, November 20, 2011, showcasing a gorgeous, neutral look created by Makeup Artist Heather Currie for NYX Cosmetics.
Heather was inspired by Julie’s energetic personality and the new NYX Cosmetics’ Butt “Naked” Eyes Palette. Heather complemented Julie’s white, gold, and silver sequined dress with modern, yet elegant makeup, featuring a 60s inspired cat eye and nude lip.
How to get Julie Bowen’s makeup look:
For Face:
Creating a natural base, Heather prepped Julie’s skin with the NYX Cosmetics’ HD Studio Photogenic Primer and a light sweep of the NYX Cosmetics’ HD Studio Photogenic Foundation in Soft Beige. She then set the liquid foundation using the new NYX Cosmetics’ Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Medium Beige – the perfect product to keep Julie shine-free on the red carpet. Heather then coated the foundation with NYX Cosmetics’ HD Studio Photogenic Grinding Powder in Nude. On the apples of her cheeks, she used the mauve blush from the new NYX Cosmetics’ Butt “Naked” Eyes Palette, to complement the gold tones in Julie’s dress. Next, Heather contoured and highlighted with the bronzers and shimmery illuminator from the palette.
For Eyes:
Heather used the new NYX Cosmetics’ Collection Noir Glossy Black Liner to create Julie’s 60s cat eye. She smudged the liner and mixed it with the dark, shimmery gray eyeshadow from the NYX Cosmetics’ Butt “Naked” Eyes Palette between Julie’s top lashes. Next, to create color contrast, she used the shimmery taupe eyeshadow from the palette across the lids, and the pale pink shimmery eyeshadow from the palette between Julie’s brows and lids to enhance her brow bone. Heather used the NYX Cosmetics’ Eyebrow Marker in Medium to shade in the brows and then set them using the Giorgio Armani Eyebrow Pencil in #3. She finished the dramatic eye look with several coats of NYX Cosmetics’ Doll Eye Mascara in Long Lash.
For Lips:
Heather downplayed Julie’s lip color to maintain the focus on her dramatic eyes using the new, nude-tinted NYX Cosmetics’ Color Lip Balm in Spasibo. She then added shine and volume with the NYX Cosmetics’ Pump It Up Lip Plumper in Kim – the perfect product to achieve Julie’s feminine pout!
