Yesterday, Maybelline New York Spokesmodel Herieth Paul hit the runway for the Rochambeau FW17 runway show.  Maybelline New York Lead Artist Carolina Dali breaks down the graphic, ’80s statement eye used on Herieth to complement the punk, club vibes from the collection.

Carolina began Herieth’s look by applying Brow Drama Shaping Chalk Brow Powder (launching July 2017) with an angled brush for a stronger, bushier brow. Then, she set it with EyeStudio Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara in Clear for hold. Next, Carolina applied Master Prime Long-Lasting Eye Shadow Base in Prime + Illuminate on the lids to get rid of any oils or discoloration. To emphasize the lash line and make sure it popped, Carolina filled in between each lash with Curvitude Liner (launching July 2017).

Then, to create Herieth’s graphic, ’80s eye, Carolina used a piece of scotch tape to create a sharp flick for an elongated cat-eye. She filled in the eyelid with ExpertWear EyeShadow in Teal the Deal (launched January 2017) and also placed a piece of tape along the center of the lid to create a harsh edge. She then applied one coat of The Colossal Big Shot Mascara (launched January 2017) to her top lash line.

Carolina noted that when doing a graphic eye, you shouldn’t apply moisturizer to the skin beforehand – this way you can easily clean up underneath the eye and then start your skin. She applied Dream Cushion Foundation (launched January 2017), blending one shade darker along the outer parts of the face and one shade lighter along the center for an easy contour. Carolina then used Fit Me! Concealer, a favorite of Herieth’s, to hide any blemishes. Finally she applied FaceStudio Master Blush Color & Highlighting Kit (launched January 2017) to the apples of the cheeks.

To finish the look, she added Baby Lips in Quenched for moisture then applied Color Sensational The Inti-Matte Nudes in Peach Buff (launched January 2017).
