New-Bionic Mascara by Smashbox
Bionic Mascara by Smashbox Cosmetics is the first ionic mascara for longer, stronger, and more voluminous super-power lashes.
How does it work (bit technical but nevertheless fascinating): the main ingredient in Bionic is a chain molecule with a positive charge that together with the friction caused by sweeping the mascara which produces negative charge, create dramatic lashes that last all day.
Other ingredients include: aloe, wheat protein, silk, and olive oil. The new Bionic Mascara by Smashbox Cosmetics is also water-resistant, $19.

CHANEL Launches Sublimage Serum
CHANEL launches Sublimage Serum which is an essential regenerating concentrate. This spring CHANEL takes Sublimage, it’s premier anti-aging cream, to the next level by pairing it with a potent new partner. Sublimage Serum Essential Regenerating Concentrate.
New-CHANEL SUBLIMAGE Serum.
This lightweight, silky serum maximizes the all-around age fighting benefits of the original, combating wrinkles, loss of firmness, dehydration, lack of radiance, and uneven pigmentation-through an exclusive Polyfractioning technique. Planifolia PFA-the precious oil extracted from the powerful botanic fruit at the heart of Sublimage-is now infused into the enriched Planifolia water, creating a powerful formula that delivers twice the concentration of the cream.
CHANEL celebrity makeup artist, Angela Levin, loves to use the Sublimage Serum to prep the face before she applies makeup. “I always start the makeup process with an application of the Sublimage Serum. I feel it helps to create a smooth, silky and young overall look after I use the base. I usually wait about 5 minutes and let the serum saturate into the skin, before applying foundation. I used the Sublimage Serum on both Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard-and they love it!”
Chanel Sublimage Serum is available at speciality stores and on CHANEL.com from February 2008. Price: $385 for 1.0 fl. oz. airless pump.

Interview with Fashion Designer Joseph Domingo
I had the pleasure to meet the fabulous fashion designer Joseph Domingo backstage just before the debut of his Fall 2008 collection at LA Fashion Week.
Joseph Domingo and Marta Walsh at Talking Makeup.
Joseph seemed very passionate about his work and particularly about his latest collection. Needless to say, that Joseph’s collection was one of my favorites at the fashion week. I saw at least 3 outfits that I wanted to have! Now that’s a good sign. I also got a chance to chat with him and learn more about his muse for the show.
Interview with Joseph Domingo by Marta Walsh:
Marta: Can you tell us about the inspiration of your Fall 2008 Collection?
Joseph: My collection this season is Vixen inspired, cat woman, Jessica Rabbit, the film Body Heat. A sexy but strong woman. The waist is form fitted. It’s not short, it’s below the knee. You don’t to show much skin in order to be sexy. It’s more of a silhouette.
Marta: Who do you see wearing your collection, or your ideal mannequin?
Joseph: Halle Berry, Jessica Alba.
Marta: What is the color scheme throughout your collection?
Joseph: Black, red, copper, and purple.
Marta: Where did you draw the inspiration for the color scheme?
Joseph: It’s when I saw a cat woman outfit and it’s just goes from there. A lot of bustiers. The color purple is a classic, and I always incorporate red in my collections. I think red is a very sensual color for a woman, every woman should have a little red dress.
Marta: What is your favorite outfit from the collection?
Joseph: It’s the last piece you are going to see at the runway, a jacket (black three-quarter sleeve satin jacket with embellished back & shoulders with belt). You wouldn’t think a jacket can be sexy, but this one is long, sits on the waist, 3/4 length. It has an embroidery in the back that you can see once the model walks back on the stage. So it’s very dramatic. And I always love drama.
